James van Riemsdyk was the first big-ticket free agent off the board when he agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Flyers on a five-year contract worth $7 million per season. He was originally drafted by the Flyers in 2007 with the second overall pick. (12:00 PM)

The Detroit Red Wings started the day by re-signing Mike Green to a two-year contract worth $5.375 million per season. The team also added winger Thomas Vanek on a one-year deal and goaltender Jonathan Bernier on a three-year pact. (12:02 PM)

 

Montreal has brought back Tomas Plekanec on a one-year contract worth $2.25 million. He had a brief stint with Toronto last season after he was traded by the Canadiens.   The Habs also added Xavier Ouellet, who was recently bought out by the Detroit Red Wings, on a one-year, two-way contract and Matthew Peca on a two-year deal. The Chicago Blackhawks have signed forward Chris Kunitz and goaltender Cam Ward to one-year contracts. The club also inked defenseman Brandon Manning two a two-year deal.  (12:05 PM)

 

Dallas has brought back Valeri Nichushkin on a two-year contract with an AAV of $2.95 million per season.  The Stars also signed Blake Comeau to a three-year contract at $2.4 million and rugged blueliner Roman Polak to a one-year contract for $1.3 million.   Dallas added Anton Khudobin on two-year deal worth $5 million to serve as Ben Bishop's backup goalie. Ryan McDonagh has agreed to a seven-year, $47.25 million extension with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He would have been eligible for unrestricted free agency at the end of the 2018-19 season. (12:10 PM)

 

Paul Stastny has joined the Vegas Golden Knights on a three-year, $19.5 million contract.  Stastny provides the Golden Knights with more depth down the middle with William Karlsson and Erik Haula already in the fold. (12:13 PM)

 

The Minnesota Wild have brought in J.T. Brown on a two-year, $1.375 million contract, Matt Bartkowski on a one-year, two-way contract and Greg Pateryn on a on a three-year, $6.75 million deal. The Wild also re-signed Nick Seeler to a three-year contract. (12:15 PM)

 

David Perron has returned to the St. Louis Blues on a four-year, $16 million contract.  The Blues also signed Tyler Bozak to a three-year, $15 million deal and goaltender Chad Johnston to $1.75 million, 1-year agreement. (12:20 PM)

 

The Boston Bruins signed Jaroslav Halak to a two-year contract, while also agreeing to terms with Chris Wagner on a two-year deal and John Moore on a five-year pact.  (12:30 PM)

 

Petr Mrazek flamed out as a member of the Detroit Red Wings and disappointed with Philadelphia, but he'll get another opportunity to battle for playing time as a starter after he signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.  (12:33 PM)

 

Michael Grabner has inked a three-year contract with the Arizona Coyotes worth $10.05 million contract. (12:45 PM)

 

Carter Hutton chose to sign with the Buffalo Sabres on a three-year deal worth $8.25 million. He will get a chance to be a number one netminder with the team after he had successful stints as a backup for Nashville and St. Louis. (12:47 PM)

 

John Tavares has signed a seven-year contract worth $77 million with the Toronto Maple Leafs.  Tavares was the biggest name on the market and he is heading to his hometown team on a massive deal. Having him, Auston Matthews and Nazem Kadri down the middle gives the Leafs tremendous depth at center. (1:05 PM) 

 

Scott Wilson has signed with te Sabres on a two-year contract with an AAV of $1.05 million. (1:07 PM)

 

Matt Cullen is back with the Pittsburgh Penguins on a one-year contract for $650,000 and Jack Johnson has also agreed to terms with the Pens on a five-year deal with an AAV of $3.25 million. (1:28 PM)

 

Jay Beagle has joined the Vancouver Canucks onl four-year contract worth $12 million.  Antoine Roussel also got a four-year deal with Vancouver for $12 million (1:58 PM)

 

Adam Clendening has inked a one-year deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets.  He will add some depth to the team's defense group.  (2:00 PM)

 

Chicago has signed 2018 NHL Draft pick Adam Boqvist to a three-year entry level contract.  He was the eighth overall pick.  Montreal signed their top pick from the 2018 NHL Draft as well.  Jesperi Kotkaniemi has inked a three-year, entry-level deal with the Canadiens.  He was the third overall pick.  (2:10 PM) 

 

Drew Doughty's eight-year, $88 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Kings is official.  The Kings also announced Ilya Kovalchuk's $6.25 million AAV over a three-year contract on Sunday. (2:18 PM)

 

San Jose has announced Logan Couture's eight-year contract extension.  The team didn't disclosed financial details, but it's reportedly worth $64 million. (2:20 PM)

 

The Calgary Flames have added Derek Ryan on a three-year contract with an AAV of $3.125 million as well as Austin Czarnik on a two-year contract with an AAV of 1.25 million. The Flames also re-signed Dalton Prout to a one-year deal at $800,000. (2:29 PM)

 

Edmonton has agreed to one-year contracts with Kevin Gravel and Tobias Rieder to one-year contracts. Gravel can earn $700,000 if he plays at the NHL level on a two-way deal, while Rieder will make $2 million.

 

The New York Rangers have brought in defender Fredrik Claesson on a one-year contract. (3:14 PM)

 

Columbus has added to their center depth with the signing of Riley Nash to a three-year contract worth $2.75 million per season. (3:55 PM)

 

Sven Baertschi has re-upped with Vancouver on a three-year contract worth $3.367 million per season. (4:04 PM)

 

Leo Komarov is heading to the New York Islanders on a four-year, $12 million contract. (4:08 PM)
