Kurt Busch wins the Dickies 500, his 20th victory in 326 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.
This is the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge driver's second victory and 19th top-10 finish in 2009. This is his first victory and ninth top-10 finish in 14 races at Texas Motor Speedway. Jimmie Johnson wins the Coors Light Pole Award for the Ford 400 with a lap of 31.049 seconds, 173.919 mph.
This is the No. 48 Lowe's Chevrolet driver's 23rd pole in 291 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. It is his fourth pole and 26th top-10 start in 2009. Kurt Busch leads the first practice for the November 22nd Sprint Cup Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Busch’s lap of 173.433 mph in the No. 2 Dodge was the quickest of the 48 cars out on the track for the first practice session. No. 42 Juan Pablo Montoya, No. 33 Clint Bowyer, No. 39 Ryan Newman and No. 20 Joey Logano were the rest of the top 5 on the speed chart. No. 08 Terry Labonte, at 164.564 mph, was the slowest. Jeff Burton leads the first practice session for the November 21st Nationwide Series Ford 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Burton’s lap of 166.584 mph in the No. 29 Chevrolet was quickest of the 52 cars out on the track for this session. Rusty Wallace Racing (RWR), Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. and TRD, U.S.A. (Toyota Racing Development) announced today that beginning with the 2010 season, RWR will field Toyota Camrys in its quest for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship.
The team currently plans to enter the No. 66 and No. 62 Toyota Camrys in the 2010 Nationwide Series, piloted by Steve Wallace and Brendan Gaughan, respectively. Additionally, a separate agreement with RWR team owner, Rusty Wallace, will enable the racing legend, television analyst, and Toyota dealer to represent the Toyota brand on a national basis. Mike Skinner is fastest in Happy Hour for the Camping World Truck Series Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Skinner, at 167.749 mph in the No. 5 Exide Toyota Tundra, was the fastest of the 38 trucks out on the track for the final practice. No. 4 Kevin Harvick, No. 6 Colin Braun, No. 16 Brian Scott and No. 07 Chad McCumbee were the rest of the top 5 on the speed chart. Wheeler Boys was the slowest (151.201 mph) in the No. 50 Dodge. Timothy Peters leads the first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice session at Homestead International Speedway.
Peters ran a quick lap of 168.418 mph in the No. 17 Strutmasters/Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra. No. 6 Colin Braun, No. 4 Kevin Harvick, No. 88 Matt Crafton and No. 13 Johnny Sauter rounded out the top 5 of the 33 trucks practicing for the NCWTS Ford 200. The Wood Brothers and their #21 Motorcraft Ford Fusion, driven by former NASCAR champion Bill Elliott, head to Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend for the final race of the season – the Ford 400.
The Wood Brothers have earned 2 top ten finishes at Homestead while Bill Elliott has earned 1 pole and 3 top 10 finishes - winning the event in 2001. During last year’s race, the Wood Brothers and Elliott put together their best finish of the year – 12th.
