 James Buescher pulls double-duty at PIR
Prior to this weekend’s events, James Buescher has made two career starts at Phoenix International Raceway.
Last spring (2008), he competed in the Nationwide Series race for Braun Racing, where he started from the 17th position and finished in the 18th position. In addition, he ran in a NASCAR Camping World West Series race during the 2008 season. In addition to driving the No. 1 Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Chevrolet for Phoenix Racing on Saturday afternoon, Buescher will also compete at PIR in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Friday night. The Raybestos Rookie of the Year Candidate will return to his 2009 full-time effort, piloting the No. 10 MaxxForce International Ford F-150. Nov. 11 - 8:32 pm et

Joe Nemechek’s qualifying speed was not good enough to make the field for the November 22nd Sprint Cup Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Jimmie Johnson wins the Coors Light Pole Award for the Ford 400 with a lap of 31.049 seconds, 173.919 mph.
This is the No. 48 Lowe's Chevrolet driver's 23rd pole in 291 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. It is his fourth pole and 26th top-10 start in 2009. Kurt Busch leads the first practice for the November 22nd Sprint Cup Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Busch’s lap of 173.433 mph in the No. 2 Dodge was the quickest of the 48 cars out on the track for the first practice session. No. 42 Juan Pablo Montoya, No. 33 Clint Bowyer, No. 39 Ryan Newman and No. 20 Joey Logano were the rest of the top 5 on the speed chart. No. 08 Terry Labonte, at 164.564 mph, was the slowest.
