 Trade rumors swirl around Salmons, Miller

The Sacramento Bee suggests the Kings are most likely to trade Brad Miller or John Salmons.
The Blazers reportedly offered a draft pick and Raef LaFrentz's expiring contract in exchange for Salmons, while Miami has offered Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks for Miller and Kenny Thomas. Nothing is imminent, but it would be shocking if Sacramento stays pat through the trade deadline. Jan. 27 - 8:57 am et

Devin Harris (sprained AC joint) will not play on Tuesday night, as expected.

 Relief: Monta Ellis just has a knee sprain

Monta Ellis' MRI revealed a mild left knee sprain and his status for Thursday's game against the Clippers is unknown.
Owners can breathe a sigh of relief after watching Ellis writhe in pain while clutching his knee Tuesday night. Ellis will be re-evaluated on Thursday and the fact that the Warriors are even considering suiting him up is obviously a great sign. Consider him day-to-day for now and he'll test the knee in warm-ups tomorrow. Feb. 9 - 5:56 pm et

Kobe Bryant (ankle) remains a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against the Jazz.
The Lakers would prefer that Kobe rests tomorrow and sits out the All-Star game, but we'll see what Kobe has to say about that. If he thinks he can be effective, he'll play. We should have a better idea of what Kobe will do after Wednesday's shootaround. Feb. 9 - 4:58 pm et

 Iverson ruled out through the All-Star break

Allen Iverson will not play in the Sixers' next two games as he attends to his ill child.
The earliest Iverson will return is Feb. 16 against the Heat. He could be asked to come off the bench at that point, which could set off a whole new set of problems for coach Eddie Jordan. Again, the Sixers are 3-0 since Iverson has left the team and we think your team is probably better off without him as well. Feb. 9 - 3:50 pm et
 Nicolas Batum moves into Blazers' starting 5
Nicolas Batum will start for the Blazers against the Thunder on Tuesday.
We're not sure yet if this is a permanent move or simply made for defensive purposes tonight. Don't run out and add Batum because Brandon Roy (hamstring) will eventually return and Batum is very raw offensively. We wouldn't expect him to attempt more than 7-9 shots per game even if he gets 30 minutes. Jerryd Bayless will slide to the bench tonight, although he should still be good for his 15-20 minutes.  Melo says he will try to play on Tuesday

Carmelo Anthony (ankle) says he is going to play on Tuesday.
We'll believe it when we see it, but all signs point toward Melo finally getting back in action tonight. He's listed as probable and even admitted that he's been out way too long with this mere sprained ankle. Playing in the next two games will allow Anthony to suit up for Sunday's All-Star game with a clear conscious. Feb. 9 - 1:06 pm et

 Corey Maggette not a lock for Feb. 16th game

There is no guarantee that Corey Maggette (dislocated finger) will be ready to play in the Warriors first game after the All-Star break, Feb. 16 vs. the Lakers.
Maggette injured himself during Saturday's game, reportedly popping the finger back into its socket six times during the game. "If you would've seen my face," Maggette said, recalling the agony. "My mom was like, 'I have never seen you in pain like that.'" Just keep him benched and hopefully we'll get a positive update in the next week. Feb. 9 - 2:39 am et
