 Kings' Evans (finger, ankle) out on Saturday

Kings rookie Tyreke Evans (sprained finger, sore ankle) will not play on Saturday. X-rays on his finger were negative and he is listed as day-to-day.
This is a tough break for Evans and the Kings -- he is coming off a game of 29 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists against the Mavericks on Friday. For now, Donte Greene will move into the starting five. Nov. 21 - 8:01 pm et

Devin Harris (sprained AC joint) says he probably won't play against the Cavs on Tuesday.
The Nets play Wednesday night in Milwaukee before mercifully taking a few days off for the All-Star break. We wouldn't be surprised if Harris rests tomorrow also.  Nicolas Batum moves into Blazers' starting 5
Nicolas Batum will start for the Blazers against the Thunder on Tuesday.
We're not sure yet if this is a permanent move or simply made for defensive purposes tonight. Don't run out and add Batum because Brandon Roy (hamstring) will eventually return and Batum is very raw offensively. We wouldn't expect him to attempt more than 7-9 shots per game even if he gets 30 minutes. Jerryd Bayless will slide to the bench tonight, although he should still be good for his 15-20 minutes. Carmelo Anthony (ankle) says he is going to play on Tuesday.
We'll believe it when we see it, but all signs point toward Melo finally getting back in action tonight. He's listed as probable and even admitted that he's been out way too long with this mere sprained ankle. Playing in the next two games will allow Anthony to suit up for Sunday's All-Star game with a clear conscious. Feb. 9 - 1:06 pm et

 Kobe Bryant iffy for Wednesday, All-Star game

Kobe Bryant, who remains questionable for Wednesday's game, said on Monday that he can't push off with his injured ankle.
Kobe might even sit out the All-Star game. "I’m not going to run through a wall just to run through a wall," he said, referring to his perceived 'warrior' mentality. "If it can heal while I’m playing, I’ll play. But if it’s the type of injury that playing will make it worse, I won’t play." Feb. 9 - 2:59 am et

 Corey Maggette not a lock for Feb. 16th game

There is no guarantee that Corey Maggette (dislocated finger) will be ready to play in the Warriors first game after the All-Star break, Feb. 16 vs. the Lakers.
Maggette injured himself during Saturday's game, reportedly popping the finger back into its socket six times during the game. "If you would've seen my face," Maggette said, recalling the agony. "My mom was like, 'I have never seen you in pain like that.'" Just keep him benched and hopefully we'll get a positive update in the next week. Feb. 9 - 2:39 am et

Rockets swingman Trevor Ariza (hip pointer) will not play in Tuesday's game against the Heat.
Chase Budinger is expected to start at SG with both Ariza and Kyle Lowry (ankle) sidelined, with guys like Jermaine Taylor and Garrett Temple providing bench support.  Anthony Morrow erupts for 33 points vs. Mavs

Warriors swingman Anthony Morrow erupted in his second game back from a sprained knee, scoring a season-high 33 points on 12-of-20 shooting, with five 3-pointers, four assists and a season-high 11 rebounds.
We all know how erratic the Warriors' rotations can be, but Morrow's numbers as a starter are more than fantasy-worthy -- 11.5 points on 45% shooting, 1.9 three-pointers, 4.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 turnovers. Jason Terry scorched the Warriors for a season-high 36 points in Monday's victory, making 9-of-17 FGs, 6-of-9 threes, and 12-of-13 FTs. He also had six rebounds, nine assists and three steals.
Yes, this came against Golden State. But in 10 starts this season Terry is averaging 18.2 points, 2.2 threes, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 37 minutes. Hopefully he'll keep it up -- the Mavericks have been seeking a reliable second scorer behind Dirk, and Terry is the most likely man for the job. Feb. 9 - 1:51 am et

Monta Ellis has been diagnosed with a sprained right knee and will have an MRI on Tuesday.
The Warriors TV crew was "cautiously optimistic" based on the way he left the court, but we're holding our breath until the results are in. It might be wise to scoop up C.J. Watson, just in case he's out beyond the All-Star break. Feb. 9 - 1:39 am et
