Drew Brees completed 32-of-39 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns as the Saints won Super Bowl XLIV, 31-17 over Indianapolis.
After a sluggish start, Brees was nearly perfect for the final three quarters. Though the Saints never got the deep ball working, Brees picked apart the Colts' secondary underneath, was highly efficient in the red zone, and the Saints relied heavily on the pass. They called 39 pass plays compared to 18 runs. Brees is expected to receive a large raise this offseason. He'll return as a shoe-in top-three fantasy quarterback next season. Feb. 7 - 9:54 pm et |
