Cam Ward's back injury will be monitored for a couple of weeks.
"After a couple of weeks, they'll have a better understanding of his condition," GM Jim Rutherford said. "They'd like to see how it settles down, let him rest, then go from there." Don't expect Ward to play in any of the Hurricanes' last three games before the Olympic break. Rutherford said that Ward may or may not require surgery, but for now the good news is that Carolina doesn't have any games scheduled between February 14th and March 2nd anyways.
