Semyon Varlamov kicked out all 25 Sabres shots in a 2-0 victory Wednesday.
Varlamov earned his first regular season shutout, although he had already recorded two shutouts in the Capitals' 2008-09 playoff run. Varlamov was starting in his third straight game as Jose Theodore (personal) had only recently returned to the lineup. Theodore said he's regained his focus and he would like to play soon, but Varlamov stole the number one gig away from him. Varlamov has a 2.35 GAA and .922 save percentage in 13 games this season compared to Theodore's 3.24 GAA and .890 save percentage. Nov. 25 - 9:38 pm et |
