Caps will carry three goalies on road trip
Semyon Varlamov (knee/groin) practiced with his Capitals' teammates on Tuesday.
He will travel with the team, along with goalies Michal Neuvirth and Jose Theodore, on their road trip this week and coach Bruce Boudreau said he has a goaltending rotation worked out. However, he was not willing to share that information and his goalies are in the dark as well. The Capitals play three games this week, so it is conceivable that they could all see one start. Stay tuned. Feb. 9 - 2:24 pm et

Hurricanes will monitor Ward's back for weeks
Ward
Cam Ward's back injury will be monitored for a couple of weeks.
"After a couple of weeks, they'll have a better understanding of his condition," GM Jim Rutherford said. "They'd like to see how it settles down, let him rest, then go from there." Don't expect Ward to play in any of the Hurricanes' last three games before the Olympic break. Rutherford said that Ward may or may not require surgery, but for now the good news is that Carolina doesn't have any games scheduled between February 14th and March 2nd anyways. We'll keep you posted. Feb. 9 - 9:55 am et
