Ottawa GM Bryan Murray told reporters that the price for Dany Heatley just went up.
Heatley was given his $4 million bonus Wednesday night and the Senators would want more back in a trade with that payment gone through. Heatley officially nixed a deal to the Oilers Wednesday, which would have seen Andrew Cogliano, Ladislav Smid and Dustin Penner coming back to Ottawa for the sniper. "It's different now and I don't know whether or not we'll continue," Murray said, hinting that they may stop shopping him. Although it is hard to imagine Heatley in a Senators uniform next season, knowing that he wants out and all his teammates knowing the same thing - it would be an awful distraction. With the big fish in free agency all signed - Marian Hossa, Marian Gaborik and Martin Havlat - teams that missed out on those may look at Heatley in the next few weeks.
