Robert Griffin
- QB
Jan. 25 - 6:45 pm et
Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin has begun running again and says his surgically repaired right knee is "feeling good."
Griffin will likely sit out contact drills this spring, but he should still be a considered a valuable fantasy quarterback on draft day.

Robert Griffin

Jan. 23 - 9:30 pm et
ESPN blogger Tim Griffin says that Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin was granted a medical after injuring his knee in week four. Griffin also adds there is a possibility that Griffin could join the 2012 US Olympic track team.
Griffin is an accomplished hurdler and Griffin (the blogger) brings up an interesting point, but 2012 is a ways away. Right now Griffin is working on his rehab and coach Art Briles said earlier that he might participate in spring drills.

Jan. 6 - 1:45 pm et
Baylor coach Art Briles says he has not spoken with Texas Tech about their open head coaching position.
That very well may be true in the purest sense, but keep in mind both sides use agents that do their talking for them in the early stages to gauge interest.

Nick Florence
- QB
Nov. 8 - 11:45 am et
Baylor quarterback Nick Florence, who started the season third on the depth chart, threw for 427 yards and three touchdowns on 32-of-43 passing and rushed for another score in the Bears' 40-32 win over Missouri.
Florence found a pair of receivers for over 100-yards each on the day. Kendall Wright had 10 receptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns and David Gettis caught eight balls for 110 yards.

Oct. 13 - 1:00 pm et
Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin will have surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee on Tuesday.
Griffin had considered letting the injury heal on its own and returning later this year. Griffin will now be out for the rest of the season and will apply for a medical hardship waiver.

Oct. 4 - 7:00 pm et
Baylor quarterback Nick Florence led the Bears to a 31-15 victory over Kent State in his first career start. The freshman rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns and added 216 yards in the air in the game.
Florence played in replacement of Robert Griffin - who is out for the season - and Blake Szymanski, sidelined with a shoulder bruise. Florence's main target, Kendall Wright, had nine receptions for 125 yards.

Sep. 30 - 12:00 pm et
Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin hasn't ruled out the possibility of returning this season, however, season-ending knee surgery is the most likely scenario. “Right now, it’s 80-20 toward getting surgery,” Griffin said.
Obviously Griffin is disappointed that his season is over and still clinging on to hope that he can return. If Griffin does have surgery, he will be eligible for a medical redshirt.

Nick Florence
- QB
Sep. 29 - 3:00 pm et
True freshman Nick Florence could get the start at quarterback for Baylor with Robert Griffin (knee) out and backup Blake Szymanski (shoulder) also ailing.
Florence threw for 3045 yards and rushed for 488 during his senior year for Galand High School in Garland, Texas. Impressive numbers. It will be interesting to see what he can do against Kent State this weekend.

Sep. 27 - 7:30 pm et
Baylor Bears phenom dual-threat quarterback Robert Griffin sustained a season-ending knee injury in Saturday's contest.
Griffin sustained an isolated tear to his right ACL. Backup quarterback Blake Szymanski is also banged up with a right shoulder contusion and is considered "day-to-day".

Sep. 27 - 8:15 am et
Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III had a stellar first half against Northwestern State, throwing for 226 yards and three touchdowns, two of which to wide receiver Kendall Wright.
Griffin did not play the second half of the game due to an apparent knee injury. After the game, Griffin called the right knee hyper-extended and the Baylor staff stated that he would receive an MRI on Sunday.

Jay Finley
- RB
Sep. 22 - 12:15 am et
Baylor running back Jay Finley has swelling in his ankle and his status for this week's game with Northwestern State is up in the air.
Backup Terrance Ganaway is likely to be in line for a bigger workload this week, but it's hard to recommend either Finley or Ganaway as a fantasy starter with the uncertainty.

Waco Tribune-Herald
Kendall Wright
- WR
Aug. 27 - 10:30 am et
Baylor sophomore wide receiver Kendall Wright has clearly developed a rapport with quarterback Robert Griffin, and coach Art Briles has high hopes for his star wideout, telling The Waco Tribune that "Kendall will be better just because he's done some things and understands more. He went through an off-season with us and we expect his production to escalate."
Escalating production is definitely a term that should be music to a fantasy owner's ears. Wright in one of the top targets in the Big XII, and a national factor as well.

Waco Tribune
Jay Finley
- RB
Aug. 26 - 11:00 am et
Running back Jay Finley is certainly the starter at Baylor, though Terrance Ganaway and Jarred Salubi will also be a part of the tailback rotation. Finley is the do-everything back, Ganaway the power back, and Salubi is the speedster.
It's Salubi that has us intrigued from a keeper perspective. The young burner, teamed with dynamic quarterback Robert Griffin, could make life miserable for defenses over the next few seasons.

Apr. 3 - 10:00 pm et
Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin completed 19-of-25 passes for 310 yards with three TDs and one interception in Baylor's spring game on Thursday.
Giffin is a top twenty fantasy quarterback for 2009.

Robert Griffin

Apr. 3 - 12:45 am et
Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin has assumed the role as clear leader of the Bears, and he sounds like one ready to put the program on his shoulders.
John Werner of The Tribune-Herald quotes Baylor coach Art Briles as not wanting "to lean on Robert quite as heavily," but who is Briles kidding? There is a nice group of skill talent in Waco, but none as dynamic as the rising sophomore quarterback. He is a special talent and one of our favorites to watch...and he's also a top-twenty fantasy quarterback. Yes, at Baylor.

Waco Tribune
Romie Blaylock
- WR
Mar. 3 - 8:45 am et
Baylor recently moved three offensive players to defense, and in this case Romie Blaylock has been told he'll now be playing cornerback.
Clearly Art Briles is trying to get his talent in the best spots to contribute, and with the youthful skill at wide receiver he feels able to build depth on the defensive side.

T.J. Scranton
- WR
Mar. 3 - 8:45 am et
Baylor wide receiver T.J. Scranton has been moved to safety.
Scranton only caught two passes in 2008, so he'll look to make an impact on the other side. Baylor has some talented youngsters at wide receiver, and this position change is likely a result of that emerging depth.

Robert Griffin
- QB
Feb. 6 - 12:00 pm et
Baylor coach Art Briles is reported to have brought in one of the best recruiting hauls in the program's history, and this is very good news for owners of QB Robert Griffin and WR Kendall Wright. Two names to watch this fall are RB/WR Glasco Martin and WR Willie Jefferson.
Art Briles is going to make Baylor a factor. And while there will still be weeks when you shouldn't play Griffin or Wright against top foes, those days may soon be a thing of the past. As more talent signs on we can expect to see the two talented rising sophomores have even more room to make plays.

Waco Tribune
Jay Finley
- RB
Nov. 15 - 11:00 pm et
It took 11 games to get there, but sophomore tailback for the Baylor Bears, Jay Finley, finally got his first 100 yard game for the 2008 season, taking 23 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown today against Texas A&M.
With one game remaining on the Bear's schedule - a brutal one in two weeks against Texas Tech - it's unlikely that Finley gets to 1000 yards on the year. Still, now having accumulated well over 750 yards and seven touchdowns, the sophomore appears to be setting himself up for a very productive 2009 season.

Robert Griffin
- QB
Nov. 15 - 11:00 pm et
Outstanding 18-year old freshman quarterback for the Baylor Bears, Robert Griffin, was simply fantastic this afternoon versus Texas A&M; for the day, Griffin threw for 241 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing 12 times for 56 yards on the ground.
Fantastic individual performance, right? No doubt; yet, what the numbers don't tell is how much of a unselfish leader he is, particularly given his age. On two separate plays, the freshman was well in control of the ball while running downfield, but was cunning enough to pitch it to Jacoby Jones at tailback in order for Baylor to score 14 of its 41 total points.
