 Jeff VanCamp - QBNov. 29 - 10:00 am et
Since filling in for injured Florida Atlantic quarterback Rusty Smith, Jeff Van Camp has been nothing short of impressive. This time throwing for 266 yards and three touchdowns against Western Kentucky, and adding a rushing score as well.
Jeff Van Camp has accounted for three passing touchdowns in all but one of the four games since he has taken over for Rusty Smith. Van Camp has 955 yards passing, 10 touchdowns and two interceptions in four games as the starter, and he's also hit paydirt on the ground three times over that span.

 Rusty Smith - QBNov. 15 - 12:45 pm et
For the second straight game Florida Atlantic quarterback Jeff Van Camp, who is filling in for the injured Rusty Smith, has passed for three touchdowns. Against Arkansas State Van Camp threw for 242 yards and three scores.
Van Camp and the Owls will get to take on a Troy defense next, one that was just picked apart by Arkansas' Ryan Mallett.

 Rusty Smith - QBNov. 3 - 8:30 pm et
Florida Atlantic quarterback Rusty Smith will miss the remainder of the season due to a left shoulder injury suffered against Middle Tennessee State. Jeff Van Camp will take over the offensive controls.
It's a shame to see Smith's collegiate career come to an end prematurely. He was a very good college quarterback, and hopefully he can make a few bucks winging the ball at the next level.

 Rusty Smith - QBNov. 3 - 3:15 am et
Florida Atlantic is preparing as if Jeff Van Camp will start at quarterback in place of Rusty Smith, who injured his left shoulder on Saturday.
It appears very unlikely that Smith will be able to start against Alabama-Birmingham, and though Van Camp has been around the program for a while, we cannot recommend him as a starter this week.

 Rusty Smith - QBNov. 2 - 7:00 pm et
The Palm Beach Post reports that Florida Atlantic quarterback Rusty Smith will undergo further tests today on his injured (non-throwing) shoulder.
Smith has caught fire of late, and any missed time would really hurt the Owl offensive attack.

 Rusty Smith - QBNov. 1 - 12:45 am et
Florida Atlantic quarterback Rusty Smith left Saturday's game with a left shoulder (non-throwing) injury. The Palm Beach Post reports it's a sprained AC joint.
No word on how much time Smith will miss, though the fact that it's his non-throwing shoulder at least leaves some hope that he hasn't played his last game in an FAU uniform.

 Alfred Morris - RBOct. 29 - 12:45 pm et
Florida Atlantic running back Alfred Morris was held out of contact drills Wednesday due to an ankle injury.   Morris says he will play Saturday against Middle Tennessee State.
Morris has been a terror of late, but you may want to play other options this week if you have them.

 Alfred Morris - RBOct. 25 - 11:15 am et
Quarterback Rusty Smith isn't the only Florida Atlantic Owl player "hoo'ing" it up since starting Sun Belt play. Running back Alfred Morris posted his second consecutive game rushing north of 140. The 222 lb. Morris rumbled for a season-high 181 yards and touchdowns of 47 and 17 yards against Louisiana-Lafayette.
This is the third game Morris has ran for more than 100 yards in this season; each time coming against a Sun Belt opponent. This Owl offense is hot right now, and Alfred Morris should continue to post huge numbers.

 Rusty Smith - QBOct. 25 - 10:45 am et
Florida Atlantic quarterback Rusty Smith turned in another impressive performance, torching the Louisiana-Lafayette secondary for 359 yards and four touchdowns.
He's bacckkk. This is the second consecutive impressive game for Rusty Smith, who has now thrown for 667 yards and seven touchdowns in the past two weeks. Cue the dance music, there will be some hopeful (and patient) fantasy owners ready to party at the return of Rusty Smith.

 Rusty Smith - QBOct. 18 - 2:15 pm et
It was the game Rusty Smith fantasy owners and watchers have been waiting for. The Florida Atlantic quarterback dismantled the North Texas defense while posting 308 yards passing with three touchdowns, and he added 30 yards rushing with a score.
After the past two seasons that saw Rusty Smith pass for over 3,000 yards the expectations were high coming into 2009. Smith has failed to live up to the hype with only five touchdown passes before this game, whereas he had 32 in 2007 and 24 in 2008. Nothing but the Sun Belt schedule left, so here's to hoping Rusty is back on track.

 Jamari Grant - TEOct. 13 - 10:45 pm et
Florida Atlantic tight end Jamari Grant (ankle) practiced in shoulder pads and shorts on Tuesday. He's been very limited in the Owls' last two contests.
At this point Grant remains a very risky start for Saturday.

 Cortez Gent - WROct. 13 - 10:45 pm et
Florida Atlantic wide receiver Cortez Gent missed Tuesday's practice while battling the flu bug.
We have no definitive word on Gent's status for Saturday, though we'd expect him to play. It's likely not been the type of senior campaign envisioned by the wideout, as a suspension has cost him time; he's a long way from his 60-935-9 receiving numbers from a season ago.

 Cortez Gent - WRSep. 30 - 8:30 am et
Florida Atlantic coach Howard Schnellenberger has lifted the suspension of wide receiver Cortez Gent.  Gent will not start but will be in the receiver rotation this Saturday against Wyoming.
Gent's return is just in time as the Cowboys are 112th in the country in pass defense.  If you are in dire need of receiver help, Gent may be able to get you a few points.

 Jamari Grant - TESep. 28 - 9:00 am et
Florida Atlanta tight end Jamari Grant (ankle) is expected to miss this weekend's game with Wyoming, and according to coach Howard Schnellenberger he could be out much longer.
This will hurt Florida Atlantic as they hope to turn the season around, though fellow tight end Jason Harmon will see his fantasy value increase in light of Grant's injury.

 Rusty Smith - QBSep. 27 - 7:45 am et
Florida Atlantic tight end Jason Harmon proved to be quarterback Rusty Smith's favorite target in the Owls loss to ULM; the duo hooked up 11 times for 132 yards.
Fantasy owners of Harmon have been waiting for a game like this, and now that the Owls are into the Sun Belt portion of their schedule you can expect a few more.

 Cortez Gent - WRSep. 16 - 9:30 pm et
Florida Atlantic coach Howard Schnellenberger has suspended wide receiver Cortez Gent indefinitely for "conduct detrimental to the team."
The senior Gent, FAU's top receiver, will miss this week's game with South Carolina and possibly more. The Palm Beach Post reports that Lester Jean will start in his place.

 Rusty Smith - QBAug. 30 - 12:30 pm et
Florida Atlantic fifth-year senior quarterback Rusty Smith will be working with a veteran offensive group, and the gunslinger is ready to return to his numbers of 2007, when he tossed 32 scores.
A tough schedule early in 2008 helped Rusty get off to a rough start, though he still rebounded nicely.  However with top threat Cortez Gent and a veteran line coming back, we expect Smith to go out in style in 2009.

 Chris Bonner - WRAug. 19 - 11:45 pm et
Florida Atlantic wide receiver Chris Bonner returned to the practice field after he was sidelined for a week with a sore hamstring.
Bonner will play a role in the FAU offense, though his fantasy potential will likely be limited.

 Alfred Morris - RBMay. 20 - 7:15 pm et
ESPN blogger Graham Watson lists Florida Atlantic running back Alfred Morris as one of her top movers and shakers this spring.
At a minimum, the former fullback should be a threat around the goal line.

 Avionne Rolle - RBApr. 19 - 9:00 am et
Florida Atlantic tailback, Avionne Rolle showed quick moves and deceptive speed this afternoon in the Owls' spring game, finishing the day with 10 carries for 50 yards and a touchdown.
The main focus of the ground game for FAU Saturday rest with Alfred Morris, who carried 18 times for 131 yards and a score as the Owls' starting tailback. Regardless, Rolle showed he too possesses the ability to make noise out of Florida Atlantic's backfield and should be one to watch heading into fall. Expect that the Owls will be much stronger on the ground in the 2009 season.
