 Scott Long - WRFeb. 8 - 10:15 am et
“Coach Strong expects me to come in and play right away,” Louisville wide receiver recruit Josh Bellamy said. “Nothing will be given to me, but I feel like I am the best player on the field all the time. Now I just have to come in and work hard and prove it.”
The Cardinals lose leading receivers Scott Long and Trent Guy, opening the door for the JUCO transfer to see early playing time.

 Matt Simms - QBDec. 16 - 6:45 pm et
Matt Simms, son of former NFL quarterback Phil Simms has signed a letter of intent with Tennessee.
You might recall that Simms was a member of the Louisville Cardinals up until last January. Simms spent the last year at El Camino College in Torrance, Ca.   He will be eligible to compete for the starting job in 2010

 Bilal Powell - RBDec. 4 - 3:45 pm et
The Courier-Journal reports that Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong is the leading candidate for the Louisville coaching job.
Strong is a very well-regarded defensive coach who has the background and recruiting ties to make some definite noise at Louisville.

 Bilal Powell - RBNov. 29 - 11:15 am et
As expected, Louisville has fired coach Steve Kragthorpe.
ESPN's Pat Forde mentioned two very intriguing possible replacements for Louisville: Houston coach Kevin Sumlin and Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong.

 Trent Guy - WRNov. 26 - 9:15 pm et
The coaching rumor mill has slowed of late, but that should change as the axes start to fall.  The latest is Steve Kragthorpe is likely coaching his last game at Louisville Friday against Rutgers.
It seems unlikely that Kragthorpe will survive.  Is Butch Jones a good candidate?  Absolutely.  He has head coaching experience, is familiar with Midwest recruiting and is on the verge of winning a MAC championship.  Of all the rumors, this one seems to make the most sense.

 Justin Burke - QBNov. 3 - 5:30 pm et
Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe doesn't seem to know whether Justin Burke, Adam Froman or Will Stein will start at quarterback against West Virginia on Saturday.
Louisville fans must long for the days of Stefon Lefors or Brian Brohm. Unless you partake in Big East fantasy fun, we advise passing on Louisville fantasy talent.

 Doug Beaumont - WROct. 13 - 12:00 am et
Louisville wide receiver Doug Beaumont may miss this Saturday's game with UConn due to a concussion suffered against Southern Miss.
It sounds like there's a good chance that Beaumont could go should he receive the all clear from the medical staff, but this is still one to monitor closely.

 Scott Long - WROct. 11 - 7:15 pm et
Louisville wide receiver Scott Long had 146 yards and a touchdown on five receptions in Saturday's last-minute win over Southern Miss.
Long, a senior, has already surpassed his previous season-high yardage mark of 358 yards, that was set in his sophomore season. Long now has 410 yards and 23 receptions on the year.

 Scott Long - WROct. 11 - 8:30 am et
Louisville wide receiver Scott Long hauled in 5 catches for 146 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinal's win over Southern Mississippi.
Long caught his first touchdown of 2009 in an otherwise disappointing season so far.

 Justin Burke - QBOct. 5 - 1:30 pm et
Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe said it will be a gametime decision as to who will start at quarterback against Southern Miss on Saturday.  The contenders are Justin Burke (bruised sternum) and Adam Froman.
Burke missed last week's game with a bruised sternum, but is healthy enough to play this week.

 Justin Burke - QBAug. 25 - 10:00 pm et
Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe named North Carolina State transfer Justin Burke his starting quarterback.
Burke could emerge as a solid starter in the Big East, though based on our low expectations for the Louisville offense this announcement has a "tree falling in the woods" feeling from a fantasy perspective.

 Josh Chichester - WRAug. 20 - 10:00 am et
Louisville wide receiver Josh Chichester, all 6'9" of him, is looking to cut down on the drops that marred an otherwise very successful redshirt freshman season.
Needless to say Chichester could emerge as a serious goal line threat, as he'll have a serious advantage against every single defender lined up against him.

 Josh Chichester - WRAug. 12 - 4:00 pm et
Louisville wide receivers Scott Long (knee) and Josh Chichester (undisclosed) have been held out of contact drills.
It is good to see Long back on the practice field, but it doesn't sound like he will be at full speed for the season opener, Sept. 5 against Indiana State.

 Justin Burke - QBAug. 12 - 4:00 pm et
ESPN blogger Brian Bennett says he's been hearing that Adam Froman may have "inched ahead" of Justin Burke in the Louisville quarterback battle.
Unless you are in a Big East only fantasy league, you'll want avoid the Louisville quarterback position.

 Doug Beaumont - WRAug. 8 - 10:30 am et
Louisville wide receiver Doug Beaumont continues to provide more evidence as to why he'll be the focal point of the passing attack.  The Courier-Journal reports he's wowing during drills.
Beaumont is coming off a nice 62-750 season, though he didn't find the end zone.  Expect this touchdown drought to end in 2009.  We're not high on the Louisville offense, but look for Beaumont to make some noise.

 Justin Burke - QBAug. 6 - 9:15 am et
It appears that the battle for the starting quarterback job at Louisville will be waged between Adam Froman and Justin Burke.
As the Courier -ournal points out, there is some nice skill talent that will be at the quarterback's disposal.  However we, in good conscience, cannot recommend the Louisville attack with much enthusiasm.

 Bilal Powell - RBAug. 2 - 1:45 pm et
Louisville running back Bilal Powell's lost fumble in the season opener sent both the tailback and the team into a tailspin, and now the junior is looking forward to having a nice bounce back 2009 campaign.
Powell is expected to backup Victor Anderson, and his fantasy value appears limited to Big East leagues.  Still this kid has shown an ability to make plays, so his early-season carries will certainly be worth monitoring.

 Justin Burke - QBJul. 22 - 10:45 pm et
After sitting out last season due to a transfer from North Carolina State, Louisville quarterback Justin Burke is ready to battle for the starting job.
Burke will battle with JUCO Adam Froman for the right to run a Louisville offense that is entering 2009 with very low outside expectations. Regardless of who emerges with the job we see little fantasy potential in this offense.

 Trent Guy - WRJul. 19 - 9:30 pm et
C.L. Brown of the Courier-Journal has a great piece on Louisville senior wide receiver Trent Guy, a player looking to have a nice final season after a tumultuous junior campaign.
Not only was Guy shot in the back prior to the 2008 campaign, but he also had to deal with the death of his beloved uncle. Now fully recovered both Guy and his coach, Steve Kragthorpe, are looking for big things in 2009. Guy could emerge as a factor in Big East leagues this season.
