 Mark Dell - WRJan. 28 - 11:00 am et
Michigan State starting wide receivers Mark Dell and B.J. Cunningham each plead guilty to one count of misdemeanor assault on Wednesday.  Both also had the count of misdemeanor of conspiracy to commit assault dropped.
The two will be sentenced on March 8, and it appears that a plea deal could be in place to avoid jail time.  It is unknown if the two will incur any additional suspensions.

 Ashton Leggett - RBJan. 13 - 6:30 pm et
Michigan State has reinstated receivers Mark Dell, B.J. Cunningham, Fred Smith, Chris D. Rucker, Donald Spencer and Myles White, as well as cornerback Chris L. Rucker and defensive end J'Michael Deane.  Running back Ashton Leggett, defensive end Jamiihr Williams, linebacker Brynden Trawick and nose tackle Ishmyl Johnson have decided to transfer.
All except for White were alleged to have been involved in the dormitory fight last December.

 Keshawn Martin - WRDec. 29 - 8:30 pm et
With a virtual armada of suspended Spartan receivers, Keshawn Martin says he's ready for the increased role when  Michigan State takes on Texas Tech in the Alamo Bowl.  "Since we did lose Dell and Cunningham, I feel it’s my turn to step up and kind of be a leader to help the team more," Martian said. "That’s a big challenge for me, to step up and help the team. I’m ready for the challenge. I can handle it."
Martin has speed to burn, but to date he hasn't been a regular in the offense.  He's been most effective on kickoff returns, bubble screens and end-arounds.

 Keith Nichol - QBDec. 26 - 6:15 pm et
Michigan State quarterback Keith Nichol has been practicing at wide receiver in prep for the Alamo Bowl against Texas Tech.
With Blair White and Keshawn Martin the only eligible receivers on the roster that have caught a pass, you could see Nichol or tight end Dion Sims lining up at wide receiver on Jan. 2.  Walk-ons Milton Colbert and Brad Sontag are also likely to see some reps.

 Blair White - WRDec. 13 - 1:00 pm et
With Blair White and Keshawn Martin the only receivers on Michigan State's bowl roster that have caught a pass, walk-ons and tight ends will likely play an integral role in the Spartans' passing game in the Alamo Bowl against Texas Tech.
We've heard rumors that Dion Sims could see some time at wide receiver.  Don't be surprised to see tight ends Sims, Brian Linthicum and Charlie Gantt split out wide.  Walk-on receivers Milton Colbert and Cam Martin could also see playing time.

 Ashton Leggett - RBDec. 10 - 7:45 am et
Nine Michigan State Spartan football players have been charged with various counts of assault and conspiracy stemming from an on-campus fight in November.   The players include: CB Chris L. Rucker, DT J'Michael Deane RB Glenn Winston, RB Ashton Leggett, S Roderick Jenrette, WR Mark Dell, WR B.J. Cunningham and WR Fred Smith.
Winston and Jenrette have already been dismissed from team.  The rest, along with WR Chris D. Rucker, WR Donald Spencer, DE Ishmyl Johnson and S Brynden Trawick have all been suspended for the Alamo Bowl.  The position hardest hit?  Wide receiver, where Blair White and Keshawn Martin are the only players with significant playing time that haven't been suspended.  Look for them and tight ends Brian Linthicum, Charlie Gantt and Dion Sims to see even more work against Texas Tech.

 Mark Dell - WRDec. 5 - 11:45 pm et
Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said that those players suspended following an on-campus fight (including wide receivers Mark Dell and B.J. Cunningham) will not play in the bowl game.
The Spartans are expected play in either the Alamo Bowl or Insight Bowl, and wide receivers Keshawn Martin and Blair White will be expected to lead the way in the passing game.

 Ashton Leggett - RBDec. 1 - 8:00 pm et
Michigan State has suspended receiver B.J. Cunningham, receiver Mark Dell, running back Ashton Leggett, defensive back Chris L. Rucker, receiver Fred Smith, linebacker Brynden Trawick, defensive tackle Ishmyl Johnson and defensive end Jamiihr Williams for violating team rules.  All eight, along with former running back Glenn Winston and safety Roderick Jennrette are suspects in an ongoing investigation regarding a fight in a campus dormitory on Nov. 22.
Winston and Jennrette have already been dismissed from the team.  You can assume the players above will not participate in the Spartans' bowl game.  Cunningham, Dell and Rucker are the only three starters in the group.

 Glenn Winston - RBNov. 24 - 10:00 pm et
"Roderick Jenrette and Glenn Winston have been dismissed from the football team for violation of team rules," coach Mark Dantonio said on Tuesday.  When healthy Jenrette (foot) is a starting safety and Winston (knee) a key member of the running back rotation.
Earlier it was reported that members of the football team may have been involved in an altercation on Sunday night.  I think you can connect the dots here.  If so this would be the second time Winston has decided it would be fun to beat on another student.

 Glenn Winston - RBNov. 24 - 5:30 pm et
Police and university officials are still investigating a fight that happened in a Michigan State dormitory around 9:30pm on Sunday.  Witnesses say 15 to 20 men, including several football players, stormed Rather Hall and initiated the melee.
Word on the street is some football players may have already been dismissed following the incident.  Disappointing to hear, especially following a similar incident with running back Glenn Winston that landed Winston in jail and a hockey player in the hospital last year.

 Kirk Cousins - QBNov. 15 - 8:00 am et
Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins was only 11-25 throwing the ball, but those 11 completions went for 208 yards and three touchdowns in a win against Purdue.
Cousins was a great spot start this week, but you probably will not want to use him next week against Penn State.  With the win, the Spartans became bowl eligible.

 Kirk Cousins - QBNov. 7 - 6:45 pm et
Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 22 of 25 passes for 353 yards and two touchdowns against Western Michigan on Saturday.
Cousins has been a solid play for a while now.  He has Purdue up next before having to face Penn State.  Need a spot starter next week?

 Ashton Leggett - RBNov. 7 - 6:45 pm et
Michigan State running back Ashton Leggett, who was filling in for the injured Larry Caper, scored four touchdowns and ran for 110 yards in a win over Western Michigan.
Leggett needed just 14 carries to do his damage.  Who starts at running back for the Spartans next week?  Stay tuned.

 Charlie Gantt - TEOct. 30 - 1:15 pm et
Michigan State tight ends saw an increased work load in practice this week.  "Each week, coaches are trying to get us involved more and more," said starter Charlie Gantt, who leads the tight ends with 12 receptions. "We have some additions (to the playbook) that will surprise people."
Michigan State has one of the deepest tight end units in the country.  That is a blessing for MSU, but a problem for fantasy owners.  Four different tight ends have caught a combined 32 passes for 432 yards and three scores.  That number should increase this week against Minnesota.

 Caulton Ray - RBOct. 28 - 5:30 pm et
Michigan State running backs Caulton Ray and Andre Anderson are no longer on the team.  No reason has been given as to why.
Ray started the first three games of the season before giving way to Larry Caper and Glenn Winston.  Anderson has had trouble seeing the field.

 Kirk Cousins - QBOct. 22 - 2:30 pm et
Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins says his sprained right ankle is "90-something" percent healthy.
Cousins played the entire game against Northwestern last week despite the injured ankle and will start for the Spartans Saturday against Iowa.

 Keith Nichol - QBOct. 21 - 7:30 pm et
Michigan State quarterback Keith Nichol (dislocated elbow) says he is ready to play this week against Iowa.  "(Trainers) say I'm healing faster than they have ever seen a dislocation," Nichol said.
Kirk Cousins has started all but one game due a sprained ankle and will start against Iowa.  It remains to be seen if coach Mark Dantonio with rotate quarterbacks like he did when the pair was healthy.

 Blair White - WROct. 17 - 11:15 pm et
Michigan State wide receiver Blair White had a huge day Saturday, catching 12 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Northwestern.
The Spartans trailed 7-0 at halftime before Blair scored twice in the third quarter and changed the tone of the game.

 Kirk Cousins - QBOct. 15 - 4:00 pm et
Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins told The Detroit Free Press, "I got my ankle healed, and we're good to go for this Saturday."
Due to the elbow injury to Keith Nichol, we may see Cousins take all of the Spartan snaps for the first time this season.

 Keith Nichol - QBOct. 13 - 10:30 pm et
Michigan State quarterback Keith Nichol (elbow) missed practice on Tuesday, and his status for Saturday's game with Northwestern is in doubt.
Nichol went the distance against Illinois while Kirk Cousins nursed his ankle. Against Northwestern we may see the roles reversed as Cousins appears ready to go. In fact Cousins may be a nice sleeper candidate this week for those in need of some quarterback assistance.
