 Russell Wilson - QBJan. 21 - 11:00 am et
North Carolina State quarterback Russell Wilson will skip spring football practice to play for the Wolfpack baseball team.
Wilson's absence will give Mike Glennon more reps, but Wilson will still be the starter this fall.

 Toney Baker - RBJan. 6 - 1:45 pm et
North Carolina State running back Toney Baker will enter the 2010 NFL Draft.  "It was a tough decision because I have loved my time at N.C. State and have really enjoyed playing for Coach (Tom) O'Brien," he said in a released statement. "But after weighing all my options, I think this is the right move for me at this time in my life."
Baker showed very good upside early on in his career, but missed most of the 2007 and all of the 2008 season due to knee injuries.  Baker was eligible for a medical redshirt.

 Toney Baker - RBJan. 5 - 2:15 pm et
North Carolina State running back Toney Baker has decided to enter the NFL Draft rather than pursue a 6th year of eligibility.
Baker, whose knees made him no stranger to the operating room while at N.C. State, will look to stay healthy and make an impact in the NFL. The Wolfpack will lose a great majority of their carries and ground yards, thus spring ball will be pivotal towards determing next season's starting back.

 Russell Wilson - QBNov. 29 - 9:45 am et
North Carolina State quarterback Russell Wilson rounded out the season for the Wolfpack by defeating rival UNC with a 20-of-27, 259 yard, four touchdown performance.
Wilson has scored a touchdown in every game but one this season, and scored multiple touchdowns in all but two. This Wolfpack offense will likely hinge on his playmaking ability again in 2010.

 Toney Baker - RBNov. 12 - 11:15 am et
ESPN.com reports that North Carolina state has applied for an additional year of eligibility for running back Toney Baker, and coach Tom O'Brien is feeling pretty darn good that his request shall be granted.
Good for Baker if he can get a sixth year on campus. My dad made me leave before I could hit a sixth year, and it took years of therapy to forgive him.

 Russell Wilson - QBNov. 7 - 6:00 pm et
NC State quarterback Russell Wilson completed 25-of-38 passes for 343 yards and three touchdowns while adding 11 yards rushing and a score to keep the Wolfpack from getting stuck on the bottom of the ACC Atlantic pile.
Wilson did set a career-high mark of three interceptions in this game, and this is his fifth consecutive game with an interception after previously going more than a year without a pick. This could be a slight cause for concern for Wilson owners, but he's still putting touchdowns in the stat column, so don't worry too much.

 Russell Wilson - QBNov. 1 - 12:15 am et
NC State quarterback Russell Wilson left it all on the field in a shootout loss to Florida State completing 20-of-30 passes for 349 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. Wilson also added 34 yards rushing.
Another potential shootout with Maryland is up next, and so too could be some more Russell Wilson fantasy gold.

 Andre Brown - RBOct. 21 - 7:45 pm et
Southern Miss wide receiver DeAndre Brown is starting to regain his star studded form after being slowed by recovery from a broken fibula earlier in the year.  "I think he's just now getting close to getting back," coach Larry Fedora said.
The timing couldn't be better for fantasy owners looking to make a playoff run.  With Tulane, Houston, Marshall, Tulsa and East Carolina left to go, Brown should be a mainstay in your lineup.

 Russell Wilson - QBOct. 3 - 10:15 pm et
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons were able to end the record maintained by NC State quarterback Russell Wilson for consecutive passes without an interception by picking off Wilson twice tonight. Wilson still had a great fantasy outing with 275 yards passing, two touchdowns, and two interceptions while adding 41 yards rushing and a score.
No cause for concern here with Wilson as he hasn't thrown an interception in over a year. Russell Wilson and the Wolfpack have a tasty matchup waiting next week in lowly ACC foe Duke.

 Russell Wilson - QBSep. 27 - 8:45 am et
North Carolina State quarterback Russell Wilson completed 21 of his 35 passes for 322 yards and four touchdowns while adding 91 yards rushing on 10 carries.
You can't blame it on the inferior competition any longer, Russell Wilson is the real deal, and he should be in your line up. Many fantasy owners were worried that Wilson and the NC State offense would falter this week against their toughest defensive competition thus far in Pittsburgh. All Wilson did was extend his NCAA record for consecutive passes without an interception, and throw for four touchdowns in his third straight game.

 Owen Spencer - WRSep. 20 - 9:00 am et
While attempting to make his first catch of the game late in the second quarter, NC State wide receiver Owen Spencer suffered a hit that would have him leave the game against Gardner-Webb with a concussion. Thus far Spencer has tallied four receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown.
We would expect the big junior receiver to shake this one off and return to action next week against Pittsburgh, but sometimes these things can linger. We will provide further updates on Spencer's status as they're made available.

 Russell Wilson - QBSep. 20 - 9:00 am et
North Carolina State quarterback Russell Wilson posted his second consecutive four-touchdown performance against Gardner-Webb this week while piling up a personal best 345 yards passing. Wilson also set career highs in completions with 26 and pass attempts with 36.
Wilson has clearly been on a roll the past two weeks, but this has come against inferior competition. It will be interesting to see how he performs against a tough Pittsburgh defense next week.

 Toney Baker - RBSep. 13 - 7:30 am et
Filling in for the injured Jamelle Eugene (knee) running back Toney Baker had a phenomenal showing for NC State tonight. In the 65-7 romp over Murray State Baker rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns while adding a 39 yard touchdown reception.
Toney Baker and Jamelle Eugene split the carries almost evenly against South Carolina last week, and their production was similar as well. It will be interesting to see how a performance like this from Baker impacts the running back split once Eugene returns; monitor this situation and Baker is a must start against Gardner-Webb next week if Eugene is out.

 Russell Wilson - QBSep. 13 - 7:30 am et
After a rough outing against South Carolina last week North Carolina State quarterback Russell Wilson bounced back as the Wolfpack thumped Murray State 65-7. Wilson passed for 228 yards and four touchdowns, and added 26 yards rushing.
A sigh of relief was collectively let out by Wilson owners everywhere Saturday, and those same sighing owners are looking forward to Wilson's matchup next week against Gardner Webb.

 Jamelle Eugene - RBSep. 11 - 7:45 am et
North Carolina State running back Jamelle Eugene will miss Saturday's game against Murray State.  Eugene injured his knee in last Thursday's game against South Carolina.
With Eugene out, Toney Baker becomes a solid fantasy option this week for those still looking for help.

 Jamelle Eugene - RBAug. 4 - 11:30 am et
North Carolina State has named running back Jamelle Eugene, offensive tackle Jeraill McCuller and defensive end Willie Young as their 2009 captains.
Interestingly enough we have Toney Baker, who is returning from a knee injury, projected as the Wolfpacks' leading rusher for 2009.  Eugene and Baker should battle for carries all year long.

 Mike Glennon - QBJul. 29 - 6:00 pm et
North Carolina State head coach Tom O'Brien told ESPN.com's Heather Dinich that talented redshirt freshman Mike Glennon will play this season. Coach went as far to say that "he's going to go in the game somewhere in the first half."
While Glennon has a very bright future, this decision to play the strong-armed youngster has a negative impact on Russell Wilson's fantasy value more than anything else. O'Brien cites Wilson's injury woes in the past, and he's likely thinking about Wilson's potential to bolt Raleigh for a baseball contract, which would leave the Wolfpack a little thin at QB experience. However we can't help but think that he's also looking around at all the high-profile quarterbacks that have switched schools in recent years rather then spend another year wearing a fancy headset.

 Matt Kushner - TEJul. 27 - 10:15 pm et
North Carolina State tight end Matt Kushner is at full-strength after missing all of 2008 with a knee injury.
It's expected that Kushner will offer senior leadership to a position already boasting young talent in George Bryan and Mario Carter.

 Donald Bowens - WRJul. 27 - 10:15 pm et
North Carolina State wide receiver Donald Bowens will be out until at least October due to a knee injury, and he could possibly miss the entire campaign.
Bowens, who missed all of 2008 with a back injury, cannot catch a break. Hopefully he can get his career back on track in the very near future.

 Russell Wilson - QBJul. 27 - 9:45 pm et
North Carolina State coach Tom O'Brien stated in his press conference today that redshirt freshman backup Mike Glennon will play one series in the first half of each game to prepare for the eventual departure of starting quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson has the potential to leave the program for a baseball career after this season.
While this is a sound move by a coach to prepare his program for the future, it will reduce Wilson's college fantasy football value. He'll be best suited for duty in ACC-heavy leagues this year.
