 Seth Smith - RBOct. 25 - 11:15 am et
New Mexico State running back Seth Smith rushed 19 times for 104 yards against Fresno State.
Smith was kept out of the endzone again, and only has one touchdown on the season.  He is up to 598 yards though, and you could find worse plug ins if you are hurting at running back.

 Seth Smith - RBSep. 27 - 6:45 pm et
New Mexico State running back Seth Smith carried 31 times for 113 yards Saturday as the Aggies upended New Mexico 20-17 on the road.
Smith broke the 100 yard rushing mark for the second time in four games and could continue to be a solid statistical play against WAC opponents.  He has yet to reach the end zone, however.

 Tonny Glynn - RBMay. 20 - 7:15 pm et
ESPN blogger Graham Watson lists New Mexico State running back Tonny Glynn as one of her top movers and shakers this spring.
The Aggies are going to run the ball and run it a lot in 2009, but Glynn is not alone in the backfield. Glynn, Marquell Colston and Seth Smith will likely split carries this fall.

 Kyle Nelson - TEApr. 27 - 4:45 pm et
New Mexico State tight end Kyle Nelson concluded a very nice spring with five catches for 35 yards in the spring game this past weekend.
We've alluded to Nelson's increased role in new coach DeWayne Walker's offense this spring, and all signs continue to point to this junior having a serious impact in the passing game this fall.

 Kyle Nelson - TEApr. 10 - 11:30 am et
Tight end Kyle Nelson had five catches for 55 yards and two touchdowns in New Mexico State's scrimmage on Thursday.
Nelson has turned gone from a hidden gem to a potential fantasy factor this spring, and we may just have a draftable Aggie for 2009 after all. Keep it on the down low though.

 Seth Smith - RBApr. 6 - 1:30 pm et
New Mexico State running back Seth Smith got the bulk of the carries in Saturday's spring practice session. According to Teddy Feinberg of the Las Cruces Sun-News, Smith was a highly regarded recruit who missed last season due to grade issues.
Smith will battle leading returner Marquell Colston for carries this year. The NMSU running back spot could see a big boost in production this year as run-n-shoot guru Hal Mumme has been replaced by DeWayne Walker.

 Kyle Nelson - TEApr. 6 - 1:30 pm et
Tight End Kyle Nelson was in on seventy percent of the plays in Saturdays spring practice.
Nelson is a deep sleeper candidate who could play a bigger role this year. The New Mexico State quarterbacks are throwing to him in spring ball.

 J.J. McDermott - QBJan. 15 - 10:30 am et
New Mexico State will lose a pair of offensive weapons that would have made an impact in 2009. Quarterback J.J. McDermott is transferring to SMU, and wide receiver LaVorick Williams is transferring to Texas Tech to run track.
McDermott's transfer is the most interesting. Obviously he wants to be somewhere he can throw the ball a little bit. With the departure of coach Hal Mumme (and his Air Raid offense), McDermott is going to take his chances with June Jones' Run N' Shoot. McDermott will have to sit out a year, but his name is one to file away for 2010.

 Chris Williams - WRDec. 2 - 10:30 am et
New Mexico State fired head coach Hal Mumme on Monday.
We've speculated that this would be Hal's last year for the Aggies for some time now. The final nail was hammered into his coffin when the offensive mastermind was unable to produce an offensive score against Utah State. Utah State was giving up an average of 37.6 points per game heading into the contest.

 Chris Williams - WRNov. 15 - 10:00 pm et
New Mexico State wide receiver Chris Williams was held to nine catches for only 55 yards, and he was also held without a score.
Fresno State was able to contain the Holbrook-Williams passing duo.
 Chris Williams - WRNov. 9 - 12:15 am et
Senior wide receiver for the New Mexico State Aggies, Chris Williams, looked like his normal self this afternoon in a 42-30 loss against Hawaii; for the day, Williams caught just seven passes, but netted 221 yards and three touchdowns in the process.
Believe it or not, in producing the numbers he did today, the senior merely tied his career-best performance with 221 yards receiving, set last year versus UTEP.
 Chase Holbrook - QBNov. 4 - 12:45 pm et
New Mexico State quarterback Chase Holbrook was pulled in the third quarter after taking a shot to the elbow. Head coach Hal Mumme said Holbrook "couldn't get any steam on the ball."
Holbrook should be ready to play this week against Hawaii.

 Marcus Anderson - WROct. 4 - 11:00 pm et
After two major performances against UTEP (5 catches for 70 yards, three touchdowns) and New Mexico (4 catches for 121 yards, two touchdowns), junior wide receiver Marcus Anderson saw his fantasy stock drop today against Alcorn State. On the day, the 5'7", 170 pound junior from Austin, Texas had one catch for 32 yards, though the reception did go for a touchdown.
Anderson was at the forefront of the minds of many fantasy owners heading into today's contest against Alcorn State but came up flat; not to worry - the junior should be back in action with quarterback Chase Holbrook seeing more time once the team gets back into conference play next week versus Nevada.

 Chris Williams - WROct. 4 - 10:45 pm et
Senior wide receiver for the New Mexico State Aggies, Chris Williams, once more topped the charts for NMSU pass catchers today, taking six passes for 128 yards and a touchdown against Alcorn State.
It's been a quiet season so far for the native of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, but finally Williams gets the second 100+ yard receiving day of the 2008 season, along with his first touchdown for the year.

 Chase Holbrook - QBSep. 29 - 7:15 pm et
After the cancellation of the Nicholls State game in week two, New Mexico State filled their schedule void with a date against Alcorn State this weekend.
This week was supposed to be a bye for the Chase Holbrook and the Aggies. Instead it should be a nice little feast game for Holbrook and his wide receivers.

 Chris Williams - WRSep. 1 - 9:08 pm et
Thursday's game against New Mexico State and Nicholls State has been cancelled.
With a bye last week, this will be two weeks in a row New Mexico State fantasy studs Chris Williams and Chase Holbrook will have to sit the bench. We had hoped to report a time when the game will be rescheduled, but nothing has been announced yet.

 A.J. Harris - WRJun. 16 - 4:50 pm et
New Mexico State's A.J. Harris is our 58th rated fantasy wide receiver for the 2008 season.
Teams will be focusing on fellow wide receiver Chris Wiliams to hog all of the NMSU passes. Harris may yet emerge as a top national receiver. Like number one guy Chris Williams, Harris battled through injury woes in 2007. A healthy 2008 could mean a huge senior season.
 Chris Williams - WRJun. 12 - 10:03 am et
New Mexico State's Chris Williams is our fourth rated fantasy wide receiver for the 2008 season.
Williams' 11 scores in only eight games (broken collarbone in week eight) provides optimism that a breakout year is on the horizon. Hal Mumme will throw until he no longer has a job, and Williams is the number one guy in this offense. The presence of AJ Harris provides a respite from the constant attention of opposing secondaries, and this will provide Williams' owners with some explosive weeks. I put Williams in the same class as Jarett Dillard, and this Aggie is one to build your passing game around.
 Derek Dubois - WRNov. 30 - 12:45 pm et
Wide receiver Derek Dubois (knee) has not been practicing for the Aggies.
Based on a number of loose reports, it does not appear as though Dubois will play in the Aggies final game of the year against Fresno State.

 Chase Holbrook - QBNov. 18 - 10:53 am et
New Mexico State's quarterback Chase Holbrook threw for 367 yards but he only threw for one score as the Aggies lost to previously winless Utah State.
The inconsistency of New Mexico State's offense continues.
