 Joe Halahuni - TEFeb. 2 - 11:00 pm et
Oregon State coach Mike Riley told The Oregonian that tight end Joe Halahuni will not need surgery on the thumb that caused him problems in 2009.
Halahuni's 35 catches for 487 yards and three scores will make him one of the nation's top college fantasy football tight end prospects heading into 2010. Any time surgery can be avoided it's a good thing.

 Matt Barker - KJan. 12 - 11:15 am et
According to the Los Angeles Times, USC's short list of candidates to replace the departed Pete Carroll include Boise State's Chris Petersen, the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars' Jack Del Rio and Oregon Athletic Director Mike Bellotti.
Bellotti?  I know every hometown newspaper likes to throw out an improbable candidate, but this is about as far fetched as they come.  I think this would be a good spot for a non-BCS coach to get a bump.  Guys like Peterson, TCU’s Gary Patterson, or Utah’s Kyle Whittingham.

 Jacquizz Rodgers - RBJan. 11 - 10:15 am et
Oregon State coach Mike Riley signed a three-year contract extension on Sunday.   "Due to the fact there is a lot of speculation on my future, I want to make it known that I'm very excited to be coaching at Oregon State University and I anticipate doing so for a long time," Riley said in a statement released by the team.
Admist speculation that USC would come after Riley, Beavers athletic director Bob De Carolis felt the need to tack on a few extra years to a contract that already had seven years remaining.

 Jacquizz Rodgers - RBJan. 10 - 5:45 pm et
According to the The Oregonian, Oregon State is preparing to offer coach Mike Riley a lifetime contract.
With Pete Carroll allegedly heading to the Seattle Seahawks, Riley has become the top name that USC would target.  We'll have to see how these dominoes fall once the Carroll deal becomes official.

 Ryan Katz - QBDec. 23 - 6:00 pm et
Many of us got a first look at one of the contenders for the Oregon State starting quarterback in 2010. Freshman Ryan Katz came in during garbage time of the bowl loss to BYU and threw a nice 31-yard touchdown pass.
Even though the game was already decided, Katz showed enough arm-strength and mobility to show that he has the potential to be a solid starter for the Beavers. He'll battle Virginia transfer Peter Lalich for the job next year.

 Jacquizz Rodgers - RBDec. 23 - 10:15 am et
Oregon State running back Jacquizz Rodgers was held in check by BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl, rushing for just 63 yards on 18 carries.  But Rodgers did find the end zone yet again.
Rodgers closes his sophomore season with 23 total touchdowns (21 on the ground) and through any means necessary, scored at least once in every game this season.  As consistent as they come, Rodgers will be a first round pick for a lucky owner again next season.

 Sean Canfield - QBDec. 23 - 10:15 am et
Oregon State quarterback Sean Canfield struggled through a windy evening in Vegas, completing just 19 of 40 passes for 168 yards and an interception against BYU.
While he did rush for a score, this certainly was not the way Canfield or his owners hoped the lefty's career would end.  Canfield has a shot to be drafted in the late rounds of April's NFL draft, while the Beavers will look for a new signal caller to handoff to Jacquizz Rodgers next season.

 James Rodgers - WRDec. 4 - 4:00 pm et
Oregon State wide receiver James Rodgers caught ten passes for 139 yards and a touchdown against Oregon.
While his brother was contained, the Beavers looked James' way often.  He also ran five times for 29 yards, and returned seven kicks for 135 yards...that's a cool 303 yards of total offense.  The receiving total put him over the 1000 yard mark on the season, and with both Rodgers' brothers due back in Corvallis next season, maybe now you see why quarterback Peter Lalich has a chance to be a fantasy option next season.

 Jacquizz Rodgers - RBDec. 4 - 4:00 pm et
Oregon State running back Jacquizz Rodgers was held to 64 yards on 16 carries against Oregon.
Quizz did find the end zone, and the Beavers found other ways to get their playmaker involved in the offense as he caught seven balls for 73 yards.  Still, this was his lowest rushing total on the season.  Expect Quizz to rebound in a bowl game, and is a solid top RB again next season.

 Sean Canfield - QBDec. 4 - 3:45 pm et
Oregon State quarterback Sean Canfield threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to Oregon.
A solid effort from the senior as the Beavers fell short.  Canfield finishes the year with 21 touchdowns and 3,103 yards threw the air.  As much attention as the Rodgers brothers get, Canfield has been equally the consistent option this season, and makes a steady, late pick in a bowl contest.

 Joe Halahuni - TENov. 24 - 9:00 am et
The Oregonian reports that Oregon State tight end Joe Halahuni practiced with a wrap around his left sprained thumb, but he said he'll go against Oregon on December 3rd.
The finale for the Rose Bowl will feature two of the better tight end in the Pac-10, with Halahuni squaring off against Oregon's Ed Dickson.

 Jacquizz Rodgers - RBNov. 22 - 3:00 pm et
Oregon State running back Jacquizz Rodgers ran for 165 yards and two touchdowns against Washington State.
Sadly, I was expecting a few more touchdowns from the little running back.  The Beavers shared the wealth, as backup Jovan Stevenson had 61 yards and his first score of the season.  Rodgers is up to 19 rushing touchdowns on the year, and should make it into the 20's in the last game of the year against Oregon.

 Sean Canfield - QBNov. 16 - 7:15 am et
Oregon State coach Mike Riley raved about his senior quarterback Sean Canfield, calling his maturation as a quarterback this season "phenomenal."
Canfield's 18 total touchdowns have been a pleasant surprise for his Pac-10 owners, and it's a shame he doesn't have another year of eligibility remaining.

 Sean Canfield - QBNov. 15 - 8:15 am et
Oregon State quarterback Sean Canfield had 185 yards and four touchdowns against Washington on Saturday.
With all the focus on the Brothers Rodgers, Canfield is hiding behind the spotlight and putting up great numbers.  He had over 300 yards in each of his prior three outings, and tonight's touchdowns make up for the lack of yards. If you are in a league championship next week, you could do much worse than Canfield against Washington State.

 Jacquizz Rodgers - RBNov. 15 - 8:15 am et
Oregon State RB Jacquizz Rodgers had 156 yards and two scores, while brother James Rodgers added 46 yards receiving and two more touchdowns in a win over Washington.
A two-man wrecking crew in the Pac-10. There are Oregon State's bread and butter...and teams can't stop them.  Both Rodgers are must starts every week, and don't look now, but Washington State is up next.

 Jacquizz Rodgers - RBNov. 8 - 10:45 am et
Oregon State star running back Jacquizz Rodgers had a season low 67 yards on 25 carries at Cal last night.
Rodgers did catch nine passes for 30 yards, and a 24 yard touchdown run with 2:08 left in the game salvaged his night from being a complete disaster.  The running back show down between Quizz and Cal's Jahvid Best never materialized as Rodgers was held in check, and Best departed in the first half on a scary hit.  Look for Quizz to be back to his normal self next week against Washington.

 Sean Canfield - QBNov. 8 - 10:30 am et
Oregon State quarterback Sean Canfield threw for 342 yards and two touchdowns in an upset win at Cal.
Canfield ran for another score, and was intercepted once.  Tight end Joe Halahuni was Canfield's favorite target, grabbing six balls for 128 yards.  Canfield has gone over 300 yards in three straight, and has proven he can put the Beavers on his back as teams attempt to contain RB Jacquizz Rodgers.  Washington is up next for Oregon State.

 Jacquizz Rodgers - RBNov. 1 - 7:45 pm et
Oregon State running back Jacquizz Rodgers was all over the field against UCLA, rushing for 124 yards, catching seven passes for 92 yards, and throwing a 14-yard touchdown pass.
Just when you thought he'd been kept out of the endzone check the box score this morning!  Quizz will look to reach paydirt in a more conventional way next week in a running back showdown with Jahvid Best and Cal.

 Jacquizz Rodgers - RBOct. 29 - 11:00 pm et
The Oregonian reports that Oregon State running back Jacquizz Rodgers showed no ill effects from an ankle injury in practice this week.
Quizz missed practice on Sunday, but it sounds like he is back to full speed.

 Lyle Moevao - QBOct. 29 - 12:00 am et
Oregon State coach Mike Riley told The Oregonian that he believes quarterback Lyle Moevao will miss the rest of the season after suffering a foot injury in practice.
After battling back from a shoulder injury it was looking like Moeavo could see the field in his final season in Corvallis. Unfortunately this foot injury appears to have derailed those plans for good.
