 Ralph Bolden - RBNov. 21 - 11:15 pm et
Purdue running back Ralph Bolden saw just one carry today against Indiana.
Jaycen Taylor carried the ball 20 times for Purdue in a move that likely upset a few playoff rosters.   No explanation has been given yet on why Bolden did not play much.  But he may have pulled a hamstring.

 Joey Elliott - QBNov. 19 - 4:45 pm et
The Purdue offense is just a few yards away from having a 3000-yard passer, 1000-yard rusher and 1000-yard receiver.  Keith Smith has already surpassed the 1000-yard mark.  Joey Elliott is 179 yards shy of the passing mark and Ralph Bolden is 69 yards shy of the rushing mark.
Purdue takes on Indiana this Saturday and odds are they all hit their mark.  Boilermaker offensive players are a good play this weekend.

Purdue quarterback Joey Elliott completed just five passes in 23 attempts for 59 yards in today's loss to Wisconsin.

Purdue wide receiver Aaron Valentin caught 10 passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns in Purdue's win over Ohio State.
The senior now has 453 yards receiving and seven touchdowns for the year.  He probably will be a hot free agent pick up this week.

 Keith Smith - WROct. 2 - 3:00 pm et
Purdue wide receiver Keith Smith wore a green jersey in practice this week, which is normally reserved for quarterbacks.  The move could be a signal that Smith will see some time as the quarterback in the Wildcat formation.
Coach Danny Hope didn't come out and say that this is in the plans this week against Northwestern, but it is clear that they are considering it.  Anytime you can get some added touches out of your receiver it is a good thing.

 Ralph Bolden - RBSep. 19 - 5:00 pm et
Purdue RB Ralph Bolden had his first struggle of the season, running for just 64 yards on 12 carries in today's upset loss to Northern Illinois.
After exploding the first two weeks of the season, Bolden was also held out of the end zone while watching Northern Illinois beat a Big Ten team for just the second time in 35 attempts.

Purdue running backRalph Bolden had Toledo chasing him all over the field, as he rambled for 234 yards on 21 carries, including touchdown runs of 78 and 14 yards.
Jaycen Taylor got some nice work in as well, but Bolden really took a step forward here.

 Ralph Bolden - RBAug. 31 - 7:15 am et
Sophomore running back Ralph Bolden was listed first at tailback in Purdue's latest depth-chart, ahead of senior Jaycen Taylor.
Both running backs will see time this year, and the Purdue offense is not expected to flourish.

 Jaycen Taylor - RBAug. 20 - 12:15 pm et
Purdue offensive coordinator Gary Nord indicated that Ralph Bolden and Jaycen Taylor are co-number ones at running back: "You can't have enough running backs," Nord said. "I could see us using four or five kids every game."
We've projected Taylor to emerge as the leader, but in the new offensive system, there may not be one back that justifies a draft pick in anything but Big 10 leagues.

 Jaycen Taylor - RBAug. 18 - 8:45 am et
"Right now, it's obvious (running back) Jaycen Taylor is competing to be a No. 1," Purdue coach Danny Hope said.
Taylor, who missed all of last season with torn ACL, is competing Al-Terek McBurse, Ralph Bolden and Dan Dierking for starting job.  Taylor is the front runner to win the job, but split carries is highly likely.

 Joey Elliott - QBAug. 15 - 11:45 pm et
Purdue coach Danny Hope has stated that both Joey Elliott and Caleb TerBush will see snaps during meaningful action this year. Elliot will remain the starter.
Elliot may claim sole control of the QB job after TerBush gains some game experience in the early part of the schedule.

 Joey Elliott - QBJul. 27 - 3:45 pm et
New Purdue coach Danny Hope is convinced that quarterback Joey Elliott is ready to lead his team, in fact he states Elliott battled Curtis Painter down to the wire last summer.
Fantasy drafters should keep in mind that this is not Joe Tiller's Purdue offense. We look for a much more conservative attack that places a greater premium on the ground game. In fact coach is looking to add more of a "shotgun run game" into the scheme.

 Joey Elliott - QBJun. 25 - 10:45 am et
New Purdue coach Danny Hope is traveling the state chatting it up with a captive audience of alums and fans this summer, and during his barnstorming he's singing the praises of starting quarterback Joey Elliott.
Hope has complimented Elliott's ability to think his way through a game, and the coach believes the Boiler offense will be in good hands in 2009. We believe this Purdue team will lean more on the run than in the past, and the days of Drew Brees winging it for 500 yards are a definite thing of the past.
