 Jordan Shipley - WRFeb. 3 - 8:00 pm et
Rivals.com has ranked Texas #1 in wide receiver recruiting. The Longhorns have received commitments from: Mike Davis, John Harris, Chris Jones, Darius Terrell and Darius White.
With Jordan Shipley graduating and Dan Buckner transferring, a freshman wideout has a good chance at seeing immediate playing time.  We'll be posting more on the Texas receiver recruits in our wide receiver recruiting report in the coming days.

 Dan Buckner - WRJan. 23 - 11:15 am et
Former Texas wide receiver Dan Buckner has transferred to Arizona, where he'll sit out 2010 and look to make in impact in 2011.
The talented wideout had off-field issues that led to his departure from Austin, though a fresh start in Tuscon may be just what the doctor ordered.

 Dan Buckner - WRJan. 15 - 9:00 am et
Following his arrest Texas wide receiver Dan Buckner will leave the team. Coach Mack Brown will release him from his scholarship.
Buckner's next school remains to be seen; the wide receiver was expected to play a pivotal role in the passing game next season.

 Dan Buckner - WRJan. 14 - 7:00 pm et
Texas wide receiver Dan Buckner was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with Criminal Trespassing and Resisting Arrest.
Buckner started out the year hot with four touchdowns in the first four games but fizzled down the stretch.  He is still expected to be an integral part of the passing game in 2010.

 Brandon Collins - WRJan. 4 - 7:45 pm et
Texas wide receiver Brandon Collins has been kicked off the team following a recent arrest. Collins had missed the 2009 season due to an academic issue.
Texas has plenty of young talent at wide receiver, so they'll be able to withstand the loss of Collins.

 Jordan Shipley - WRDec. 22 - 4:00 pm et
Texas wide receiver Jordan Shipley should be fully healthy for the National Championship Game against Alabama on Jan. 7.  Apparently Shipley has been dealing with a turf toe injury.
Even though Shipley failed to find the end zone in the Big 12 title game, he still caught seven passes for 72 yards against a stout Nebraska defense.  Even against an extremely tough Tide defense, Shipley is not a bad fantasy play.

 Colt McCoy - QBDec. 10 - 8:00 pm et
Texas' Colt McCoy won the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award as the nation's best quarterback.
McCoy beat out finalists Case Keenum from Houston and Tim Tebow from Florida.  With the National Championship Game yet to be played, McCoy currently has 3512 yards passing and 30 touchdowns (three rushing).

 Colt McCoy - QBDec. 3 - 8:15 pm et
Texas senior quarterback Colt McCoy has won the Unitas Award, a trophy which is awarded to the nation's top senior quarterback.
McCoy may pick up some more hardware over the next five weeks, both of the individual and team variety.

 Colt McCoy - QBNov. 27 - 10:30 am et
Texas quarterback Colt McCoy had 479 total yards of offense and five touchdowns in their 49-39 win over Texas A&M on Thanksgiving night.
McCoy passed for 304 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for a game-high 175 yards and a score on 18 carries. This marks McCoy's career-high rushing numbers and just his third 100-yard rushing game in his collegiate career.

Texas quarterback Colt McCoy passed for 396 yards and four touchdown strikes in Saturday's 51-20 Big 12 South clinching victory over Kansas.

 Colt McCoy - QBNov. 21 - 12:15 am et
Texas senior quarterback Colt McCoy will play his final game in Royal-Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.
After notching 45 total touchdowns in 2008, I'm sure there are a lot of fantasy owners that are a bit disappointed in McCoy's 20 total touchdowns so far this season.  However, this being Colt's final home game, this seems like a great spot for McCoy to pile up some fantasy points.

 Jordan Shipley - WRNov. 17 - 10:15 am et
Texas wide receiver Jordan Shipley will add kick returns to his list of duties when the Longhorns take on Kansas on Saturday.
Shipley has only returned two kickoffs so far this season.  But he's no stranger to the position.  He returned a kickoff for a touchdown last year against Oklahoma.  He also has three career punt returns for touchdowns, including two this year.

 Cody Johnson - RBNov. 15 - 4:00 pm et
Texas running back Cody Johnson rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in Saturday's 47-14 rout of Baylor.
Though Johnson was the primary stat-getter, the headlines all belong to quarterback Colt McCoy. McCoy threw for 181 yards and two scores, both to receiver Jordan Shipley. With the win, McCoy is now tied for the NCAA record of most career wins by a starting quarterback, with 42.

 Colt McCoy - QBNov. 8 - 11:45 am et
Texas quarterback Colt McCoy passed for 470 yards and two touchdowns and wide receiver Jordan Shipley had 11 receptions for 273 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 35-3 victory over UCF.
Shipley's performance was not only a career-high, but also a Texas best, breaking a record set in 1987 - 22 years ago. McCoy's 470 yards was a career-best for the senior and just three yards shy of the school record set by Major Applewhite.

 Cody Johnson - RBNov. 3 - 4:00 pm et
Texas running back Cody Johnson is listed as the starter for Saturday's game against Central Florida.
Fozzy Whittaker is listed as the co-starter, but Mack Brown indicates that if the decision were to be made today, he would go with Johnson.

 Colt McCoy - QBNov. 1 - 8:00 pm et
Texas quarterback Colt McCoy led the Longhorns to an easy 41-14 victory over Oklahoma State on Saturday. McCoy threw for 171 yards and a score on 16-of-21 passing.
McCoy's numbers might not necessarily be impressive, but his overall on-field performance was calm, cool and collected. The defense was the score-making unit though, causing five total turnovers and returning two interceptions for touchdowns.

 Malcolm Williams - WROct. 28 - 5:45 pm et
Dropped passes have been a problem for Texas wide receiver Malcolm Williams. But the sophomore isn't throwing in the towel, catching as many as 200 balls per day from the JUGS machine.
We've been enamored with Williams' size and speed, and we (ok, I) touted him highly in the preseason.  So far he hasn't lived up to our hype.  But he did make his first start of the season last week against Missouri, catching five passes for 52 yards and a score.  Keep an eye on Williams.

 Colt McCoy - QBOct. 25 - 8:30 am et
Texas quarterback Colt McCoy threw for 269 yards, three touchdowns and an interception on 26 of 31 passing in the Longhorns' 41-7 rout of Missouri.
In what seems to be a broken record, McCoy's favorite target, Jordan Shipley, caught seven passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns in the game. Up next for the Longhorns is another road trip - this one to Stillwater to face Oklahoma State.

 Dan Buckner - WROct. 23 - 8:15 am et
Malcolm Williams and Marquise Goodwin will start at wide receiver alongside Jordan Shipley against Missouri this Saturday.
Williams and Goodwin will replace James Kirkendoll and Dan Buckner in the starting lineup.  Buckner was a favorite target of quarterback Colt McCoy earlier in the year, but appears to be slowed by a knee injury.  Unless you have Shipley, you'll want to avoid Longhorn receivers.

 Colt McCoy - QBOct. 22 - 12:00 pm et
Texas coach Mack Brown says that Colt McCoy's bruised thumb has had no effect on the quarterback in practice.
Last week McCoy did most of his damage to the Sooners on the ground, but you can bet he'll want to mix in more of a passing attack against Missouri this Saturday.
