 Omar Clayton - QBSep. 16 - 11:30 pm et
UNLV quarterback Omar Clayton (bruised knee) practiced this week, but his status for this Saturday's game against Hawaii is unclear.  The good news is Clayton's MRI came up negative.
I wouldn't count on Omar playing this week, but it doesn't sound like he will be out long.  Expect Mike Clausen to get the start.

 Omar Clayton - QBSep. 13 - 1:00 pm et
UNLV quarterback Omar Clayton left Saturday's contest against Oregon State in the fourth quarter. Coach Mike Sanford classified the injury as a sprained knee, but there was no significant damage.
While it is not considered serious, Clayton's status for next week's game against Hawaii is unknown.  Right now we recommend keeping him out of your lineup.

 Channing Trotter - RBSep. 6 - 5:15 pm et
Junior running back Channing Trotter nearly doubled his career stat line with 102 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 16 carries as UNLV was the 38-3 victor over Sacramento State.
Trotter only played in four games with 11 rushing attempts and 110 yards for the entire 2008 season.  Trotted sealed up the starting job with a good off-season, and this performance looks to keep him solidly in the starting lineup.

 Mike Clausen - QBApr. 18 - 11:30 am et
Sophomore quarterback Mike Clausen led the UNLV Rebels' Scarlet Team to three scoring drives at Friday night's spring game, leading his squad to a 17-0 win over the Gray Team.
Clausen will remain the backup to Omar Clayton come fall, but impressed the UNLV coaching staff by going 10-of-14 throwing for 152 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's spring game, including a 48-yard strike to Jerriman Robinson.

 Rodelin Anthony - WRApr. 18 - 11:30 am et
UNLV senior wide receiver Rodelin Anthony, operating out of his new position as the Rebels' No. 3 receiver, grabbed a game-high four receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown in Friday night's spring game.
Anthony struggled for much of the 2008 season with consistency catching the ball, but began to turn it on at the end of the year, snatching 11 catches for 159 yards and three touchdowns in the Rebels' last four games. The senior appears to have carried that momentum into spring camp.

 Chris Brogdon - RBApr. 18 - 11:15 am et
UNLV senior at tailback, Chris Brogdon, led all rushers in Friday night's spring game, taking three carries for 24 yards.
All the hype this spring has been about incoming freshman Bradley Randle, but Brogdon's performance Friday led head coach Mike Sanford to say, "Chris has had a really good spring. I would say right now, Chris Brogdon and C.J. Cox are out in front." Nevertheless, Sanford also acknowledges that he believes there will be a "full-on five-man race" for a starting role in the Rebels backfield come the 2009 season.

 Omar Clayton - QBMar. 2 - 1:15 pm et
According to UNLV coach Mike Sanford, quarterback Omar Clayton's knee is about "90 percent". Clayton missed the last three games of the 2008 season because of a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
Clayton's level of participation this spring is yet to be determined. Sanford knows he can't push his star quarterback's recovery just to get some work in this spring. Clayton is a solid candidate to emerge as a top quarterback this fall.

 Omar Clayton - QBNov. 2 - 1:15 am et

 Frank Summers - RBOct. 4 - 8:30 pm et
It was a tough loss for the UNLV Rebels -- now losing twice in a row after big upsets against Arizona State and Iowa State -- but senior tailback for UNLV, Frank Summers, took 20 carries for 109 yards and a touchdown today versus Colorado State, his third such 100+ yard day for 2008.
Again, Summers isn't going to be a blockbuster on the ground, especially considering the amount of talent that exists at quarterback and wideout for the Rebels; still, when a tailback has only one game out of six in which he goes under 87 yards on the ground, fantasy owners have to be pleased with his consistency.

 Frank Summers - RBOct. 2 - 11:45 am et
The Virginia Tech backfield is still split between Kenny Lewis Jr. and Darren Evans. They are considered 1A and 1B on the respectively.
While Lewis got the start last week, it was Darren Evans that once again put up the fantasy numbers with two touchdowns. Still, split backfield situations are never a good thing.

 Frank Summers - RBOct. 2 - 11:30 am et
Tailback Frank Summers was limited to 20 yards on only 9 carries last week against Nevada. Summers bruised his knee in practice the week before, which could of contributed to Summers' output.
All signs point to Summers playing this week against Colorado State, but there have been no confirmed reports.

 Omar Clayton - QBSep. 16 - 7:00 pm et
UNLV quarterback Omar Clayton suffered a small fracture in his jaw in the upset win over Arizona State Saturday. The injury should not keep Clayton out of action this week against Iowa State
Keep an eye on UNLV this week, if they can take out another BCS opponent and put up some good offensive numbers, we'll need to start thinking about making some waiver wire pickups.

 Omar Clayton - QBSep. 14 - 1:45 am et
In the upset of a lifetime, UNLV Saturday night beat Arizona State 23-20 in overtime, and in no small part to the outstanding gameplay of sophomore quarterback Omar Clayton; on the night, Clayton hit 19-of-31 passing for 192 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing eight times for 16 additional yards on the ground.
Clayton had been called the future of the program almost as soon as he took the field against Colorado State last year in his collegiate career debut; tonight he proved such speculation was dead on, playing nearly flawless in a huge road on the road in Sun Devil Stadium. His fantasy value grows by leaps and bounds as a result.

 Frank Summers - RBJul. 17 - 8:32 pm et
UNLV's Frank Summers is our 65th rated fantasy running back for the 2008 season.
Summers started out the year on pace for 1000-yards and double digit rushing touchdowns. However Summers was only able to muster one touchdown over the last four games of the year. And this was not good for fantasy owners that pinned their championship drive on the Running Rebel.
 David Peeples - RBSep. 27 - 8:12 pm et
UNLV RB David Peoples will miss two weeks following a concussion against Utah.
Peeples has very little fantasy value except in conference-only leagues.
