Robert Turbin
- RB
Feb. 6 - 4:30 pm et
If Utah State running back Robert Turbin (torn ACL) is not able to return to the field in 2010, the junior would be eligible to apply for a sixth year of eligibility.
It seems unlikely Turbin will be able to return this season, but he is a name to file away for 2011 if he doesn't make a return.

Feb. 4 - 10:15 pm et
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Utah State running back Robert Turbin tore his ACL during off-season workouts and had surgery on Thursday. He's expected to miss part of the 2010 campaign.
Turbin was the 9th best fantasy running back for the 2009 season, and this is a big blow to the Utah State program.

Robert Turbin

Nov. 29 - 10:00 am et
Utah State running back Robert Turbin ran for 113 yards and three touchdowns against Idaho. He also caught two touchdowns worth 70 yards of offense.
Turbin closes the year scoring in five straight, and ends with 18 total touchdowns and 1296 yards. He should be a great option again next season.

Nov. 29 - 10:00 am et
Utah State quarterback Diondre Borel threw for 369 yards and four touchdowns against Idaho.
Borel had his share of big games this season, and with another year in the Aggie offense, maybe Borel can be consistent enough to think about using more often in 2010.

Nov. 14 - 8:15 pm et
Utah State running back Robert Turbin had 190 yards and two touchdowns in tonight's win over San Jose State.
The passing game was non existent tonight, and Turbin single-handedly carried the Aggies to victory. Too bad Boise St. is up next...Turbin should be decent, but don't expect him to replicate tonight's effort.

Nov. 1 - 7:45 pm et
Quarterback Diondre Borel ran a season-high 22 times for 105 yards and a touchdown against Fresno State.
Borel also threw for a score and 240 yards in the loss. He's been pretty good for Utah State in their new offense, and there is no reason to think Hawaii will slow him down next.

Oct. 3 - 10:15 pm et
Utah State running back Robert Turbin could only manage 47 yards on 17 carries against BYU.
Turbin, who caught four balls for 116 yards and two scores against Southern Utah last week, was held to one catch against BYU. Though he struggled this week, look for Turbin to bounce back well.

Sep. 27 - 7:30 pm et
Utah State quarterback Diondre Borel went 15 of 21 passing for 316 yards and three touchdowns Saturday as the Aggies beat Southern Utah at home in Logan.
Borel continues to mature under center and looks to be a sound start no matter the opponent he faces, having performed well against both Utah and Texas A&M.

Sep. 27 - 7:15 pm et
Utah State running back Robert Turbin ran for 104 yards, netted 115 yards receiving, and scored three touchdowns Saturday as the Aggies defeated Southern Utah 53-34 in Logan.
Turbin continues to prove an all-purpose yardage threat and has topped 100 yards rushing in each game this season.

Sep. 20 - 10:45 am et
Despite a 38-30 road loss to the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday, Utah State Aggies junior quarterback Diondre Borel put up some impressive numbers, passing for 334 yards and a touchdown while also taking 22 carries for 34 yards and an additional two scores on the ground.
Going 24-of-47 passing isn't exactly the sign of a good quarterback, but given respectable showings versus both Utah and Texas A&M, Borel can be expected to truly pick up the pace once the level of competition Utah State faces begins to level out.

Sep. 20 - 10:45 am et
Utah State sophomore tailback Robert Turbin opened eyes once more Saturday in a 38-30 road loss to the Texas A&M, rushing for 121 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.
Believe it or not, through two games, Turbin is averaging 10.3 yards a carry, yet has never carried the ball more than 13 times. Such stats emphasize the break away speed that Turbin possesses, with the sophomore now having taken a 96 yard run and 50 yard run in for a touchdown in Utah State's first two contests of the season.

Sep. 4 - 11:30 am et
Utah State running back Robert Turbin rushed for 148 yards on just 13 carries in Thursday night's loss to Utah.
Impressive numbers against a good Utah defense. Keep an eye on how many carries Turbin gets though, as quarterback Diondre Borel is sure to see his fair share as well.

Aug. 20 - 12:00 am et
Utah State coach Gary Andersen tells The Salt Lake Tribune that running back Robert Turbin has gotten "bigger, faster and stronger" and "he's our number one guy."
Good enough for us. Our only concern stems from the fact that Utah State will likely not be very good, thus they may rely more on Diondre Borel's arm and legs than the workhorse Robert Turbin. However we're fans of offensive coordinator Dave Baldwin, and Turbin may certainly emerge as a national fantasy factor.

Ronald Scott

Aug. 14 - 12:30 am et
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Utah State running back Ronald Scott broke off a bunch of long runs in practice.
Ronald Scott will undoubtedly play second fiddle to Robert Turbin, however should things change he becomes one to monitor.

Aug. 6 - 10:00 am et
One of our favorite sleeper quarterbacks, Diondre Borel of Utah State, has gotten noticeably bigger according to the Salt Lake Tribune. This bodes well for such a multi-dimensional quarterback who takes his shots.
We are really excited about what Borel can do while operating in OC Dave Baldwin's spread attack. He currently sits at #39 on our QB big board, but his ceiling is very high.

Jun. 29 - 10:00 am et
"I have high expectations for this team," said Utah State offensive coordinator David Baldwin. "I fully expect that we will be able to score a bunch of points."
Baldwin's arrival on campus definitely puts Diondre Borel in the fantasy conversation. Borel is a good one to watch out for on the early waiver wire.

"I can't tell you how excited I was to see some semblance of a real offense," former Utah State quarterback Riley Jensen said.
New head coach Gary Anderson may have a defensive background, but offensive coordinator Dave Baldwin is no stranger to pumping out numbers on offense. Baldwin will install some spread principles, but will balance the run with the pass.

May. 20 - 7:15 pm et
ESPN blogger Graham Watson lists Utah State wide receiver Omar Sawyer as one of her top movers and shakers this spring.

Apr. 20 - 4:45 pm et
Utah State wide receiver Omar Sawyer amassed impressive numbers in the spring game in three big plays. He garnered 196 yards on just three receptions of 44, 72 and 80 yard.
Sawyer was driven to impress at the spring game, saying, "This is the last day of spring so I knew I needed to go out there and do something. I have been getting looks, but overall I haven't made the most of my opportunities. Today I felt like I came out and really took advantage of those chances." Keep this youngster on your list of potential waiver wire pickups down the road.

Utah State has hired Gary Anderson as their new head coach. Anderson has been Utah's assistant head coach and defensive coordinator since 2005 and has helped make the Utes one of the stingiest defenses in the country, only yielding 16.6 points per game.
It has not been determined if Anderson will stay on to coach in Utah's pending bowl game.
