 Kevin Lopina - QBNov. 26 - 8:15 am et
Kevin Lopina will start at quarterback for Washington State in Saturday's Apple Cup clash against Washington.
Lopina will get his second straight start, but Wazzu has used multiple quarterbacks the last two seasons and Marshall Lobbestael and Jeff Tuel (knee cap) could also play.

 Kevin Lopina - QBNov. 19 - 12:45 pm et
Kevin Lopina will start at quarterback when Washington State faces off against Oregon State this weekend.
I think it goes without saying that Lopina is not a fantasy option.  However, be careful with the Beaver defense this week; they are ranked 102nd in the country in pass defense.

 Jared Karstetter - WRNov. 1 - 7:45 pm et
Washington State wide receiver Jared Karstetter caught just two passes for 19 yards in a loss at Notre Dame.
Karstetter found the endzone with both grabs, and now has five touchdowns on the year.  If only Wazzou could find a way to get him the ball more.

 James Montgomery - RBSep. 22 - 7:45 pm et
Washington State running back James Montgomery will miss the rest of the season due to a leg injury suffered against SMU. He had surgery on Sunday.
Montgomery, the one-time Cal Bear, had run the ball effectively during the season's first three games, and the Wazzu offense, in dire need of playmakers, will miss his presence.

 Jeshua Anderson - WRSep. 16 - 9:30 pm et
CougCenter.com reports that Washington State speedster wide receiver Jeshua Anderson has decided to quit the football team in order to concentrate on his track career.
We really liked Anderson has a sleeper possibility in 2009, though clearly track is his number one passion and football took a backseat. Regardless, this is a loss for the Washington State football program.

 Marshall Lobbestael - QBSep. 15 - 9:45 pm et
Washington State will start sophomore Marshall Lobbestael against SMU on Saturday.
Normally I'd tell you to run as far as you can from any Washington State skill players, however if you're in a Pac-10 league and feeling a little desperate then maybe, just maybe, Lobbestael can post decent fantasy numbers.

 James Montgomery - RBSep. 13 - 7:15 am et
Junior running back for the Washington State Cougars, James Montgomery, proved WSU's only true offensive weapon Saturday in a 38-20 loss to Hawaii, carrying the ball 17 times for 118 yards and a touchdown for the game.
Montgomery fared much better in week two than he did in the season-opener against Stanford, with the junior carrying 14 times for just 39 yards versus a tough Cardinal defense. Still, until Washington State finds some consistency under center and can move the ball through the air, expect Montgomery's numbers to vary significantly from week-to-week.

 Kevin Norrell - WRSep. 9 - 10:00 pm et
Washington State has suspended wide receiver Kevin Norrell for the season after he was arrested for drunk driving this weekend.
The issue was decided by a committee of players and coaches, who decided by vote to suspend Norrell for the season.

 Kevin Lopina - QBAug. 31 - 7:15 am et
Kevin Lopina will start for Washington State in their opening-week contest with Stanford. Marshall Lobbestael will also see action in the game.
It looks like the Cougars will use the game as a further evaluation period for both quarterbacks. While neither is a viable fantasy option at this point, stability at QB will help fantasy prospects such as Jeshua Anderson.

 Jeshua Anderson - WRAug. 14 - 12:00 pm et
Jeshua Anderson has improved his hands and is making the tough catches according to practice reports coming out of Washington State camp.
Anderson's commitment to football was in question over the summer as he concentrated on his track career. The positive practice reports are a good sign; he could be the offensive bright spot for the Cougars this year.

 Jeshua Anderson - WRAug. 6 - 12:00 pm et
On last night's CFFinsider Live show, Seattle Times blogger Bob Condotta mentioned that wide receiver Jeshua Anderson's focus on track has limited his involvement with the football team this offseason.  A quick scan of the post-spring depth chart reveals Anderson is not listed as one of Wazzu's starting wide receivers.
While we suspect this is simply a formality and we do see Anderson going long for Wazzu, it does temper some of our enthusiasm for one of our sleeper wide receiver picks.

 Marshall Lobbestael - QBJul. 30 - 4:15 pm et
ESPN.com's Ted Miller quotes Washington State coach Paul Wulff as hopeful that Marshall Lobbestael will be good to go for the season opener.
It's hard to envision Marshall Lobbestael having a fantasy impact in 2009...really hard.

 Michael Willis - WRJul. 12 - 7:00 pm et
Washington State head coach Paul Wulff has dismissed wide receiver Michael Willis from the team for a violation of team rules.
Willis wasn't expected to have much of an impact in 2009.

 Jeshua Anderson - WRJun. 13 - 9:30 pm et
Washington State wide receiver Jeshua Anderson won the 400-meter hurdles at Saturday's NCAA Outdoor Championship. Anderson posted a time of 48.27.
Anderson cruised through the prelim, semi-final and final rounds. If only things could be so easy for Anderson on the gridiron this fall.

 Jeshua Anderson - WRApr. 27 - 11:45 pm et
Washington State wide receiver Jeshua Anderson is reportedly tipping the scales at 205 pounds this spring, while maintaining his speed.
You may recall us making a note of Anderson last fall after glowing practice reports. His track exploits and his added weight have us once again taking notice of this potential sleeper candidate.

 James Montgomery - RBApr. 11 - 11:45 pm et
Washington State running backs Dwight Tardy and James Montgomery both rushed for over 60 yards in Saturday's scrimmage. Both backs worked with the first team.
We already know what Tardy can do. The one that intrigues us is Montgomery, a transfer from Cal. Right now both are only options in Pac-10 only leagues.

 Marshall Lobbestael - QBFeb. 23 - 6:45 pm et
Washington State quarterback Marshall Lobbestael was arrested Saturday on a charge of minor in possession after Pullman police found the 19-year old passed out in the back of a pickup truck.
Lobbestael made an appearance earlier that evening when officers saw him carrying around a woman that had apparently passed out. Later on the Wazzu quarterback followed the young lady's lead. He's suspended from the football team until Coach Paul Wulff gets to the bottom of this one. Lobbestael is expected to battle for the starting QB gig this season.

 Gary Rogers - QBFeb. 13 - 11:45 am et
Washington State quarterback Gary Rogers will not petition the NCAA for a sixth year. Rogers suffered a suffered a spinal injury in week four and missed the rest of the season.
With Rogers officially out of the picture Kevin Lopina, Marshall Lobbestael and J.T. Levenseller will compete for the starting job this spring.

 Dwight Tardy - RBFeb. 12 - 11:45 am et
Washington State coach Paul Wulff will have to sit out the first three days of fall practice for several NCAA rules violations while he was the coach at Eastern Washington.
Wulff will not be able to have any contact with the team during his time off. Wulff has been very upfront about the violations, and it doesn't look like it will be a reoccurring theme.

 Kevin Lopina - QBNov. 18 - 11:00 pm et
Washington State junior quarterback Kevin Lopina (concussion) is expected to be cleared for this week's game with Washington.
If you're still alive in your league's playoffs, and considering the Washington State quarterback as a start option then we wish you nothing but the best.
