 Antonio Pierce - LBNov. 20 - 8:48 pm et
The Giants announced late Friday that MLB Antonio Pierce will be out indefinitely after a bulging disc was discovered in Pierce's neck.
Pierce was "shocked" by the news. He practiced in full Friday, but felt discomfort afterwards and was hospitalized for tests. An MRI revealed the injury, which may threaten Pierce's season. His loss is a blow to a Giants run defense that has underachieved all year. Chase Blackburn will likely take over in the middle, with Michael Boley now healthy at weak-side linebacker.

 Ahmad Bradshaw - RBNov. 20 - 11:57 am et
Ahmad Bradshaw (probable, foot) participated in Giants practice again Friday.
Bradshaw's partially cracked foot appears to be getting healthier, but he's been pulled off third downs and will likely see a decrease in touches over the next few games. The third-year tailback isn't a fantasy option going forward.

 Ahmad Bradshaw - RBNov. 19 - 5:45 pm et
Ahmad Bradshaw (knee) was limited in Thursday's practice.
Bradshaw will play against the Falcons, but he hasn't topped 50 rushing yards since Week 5 and stands to lose playing time to Danny Ware on passing downs. We have him ranked as just the No. 38 fantasy option at RB this week.
 Ahmad Bradshaw - RBNov. 19 - 12:36 pm et
Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) returned to Giants practice Thursday.
It's a little different routine this week for Bradshaw, who usually just practices on Fridays before suiting up on Sundays. He was probably limited Thursday, but it's still a good sign for the status of his fragile foot.

 Ahmad Bradshaw - RBNov. 18 - 4:59 pm et
The Giants appear to be intent on using Danny Ware more going forward, which could limit Ahmad Bradshaw's role on offense.
Ware is expected to take over as New York's full-time back on third downs, which had previously involved Bradshaw. Brandon Jacobs has averaged 5.35 yards per touch in the Giants' last four games, so his role is unlikely to decrease. The team may be growing concerned with Bradshaw's partially cracked foot. Ware is also considered the club's best back in blitz pickup.

 Aaron Ross - DBNov. 18 - 3:55 pm et
Giants CB Aaron Ross (hamstring) is scheduled to return this week.
Ross will make his 2009 debut against the Falcons, but probably only as a nickel or dime back. The Giants are expected to keep Terrell Thomas on the first team opposite Corey Webster, at least until Ross proves he's 100%.

 Ahmad Bradshaw - RBNov. 18 - 11:15 am et
Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) missed Giants practice on Wednesday.
Not even the bye week could get Bradshaw out of his routine. His foot is very vulnerable and he could aggravate the injury at any time. Look for more of Brandon Jacobs and Danny Ware down the stretch, although Bradshaw will almost certainly play against the Falcons this week.

 Ramses Barden - WRNov. 18 - 10:19 am et
Giants coach Tom Coughlin indicated that Ramses Barden could be a red-zone option in the near future.
Barden, a 6'6 rookie, has been active in just two games because of his struggles on special teams and inability to adjust to the speed of the NFL game coming out of I-AA Cal Poly. Still, the Giants are in desperate need of a red-zone threat and Barden is a name to keep an eye on in dynasty leagues.

 Eli Manning - QBNov. 17 - 12:07 pm et
Eli Manning reiterated that the foot injury that bothered him early in the season is a non-issue as the Giants come out of their bye.
"That injury I think is kind of over and done with," Manning said. "A week off and not practicing and not putting any pressure on the body or the arm definitely helps, refreshes the whole body." Manning is more of a QB2 even in a plus matchup with the Falcons this week.

 Hakeem Nicks - WRNov. 16 - 1:54 pm et
Hakeem Nicks (foot, flu) returned to Giants practice on Monday.
Nicks got the Giants' bye week off, but is in no danger of sitting out Week 11 against the Falcons. He will resume his rotation with Mario Manningham.

 Brandon Jacobs - RBNov. 16 - 8:41 am et
Brandon Jacobs was struggling early in the year because he was being asked to run the plays Derrick Ward used to handle, according to running backs coach Jerald Ingram.
Ingram says the Giants were forced to use Jacobs in passing situations because Danny Ware was hurt. Now that Ware is back, Jacobs won't be asked to run draws or east west. Not sure if we're buying this as an excuse for Jacobs early season struggles, but it's good to hear that he'll be used as strictly a downhill runner in the second half.

 Clint Sintim - LBNov. 14 - 8:31 pm et
Giants rookie OLB Clint Sintim started to rotate in the base defense with starter Danny Clark during Week 9.
Sintim is still very raw in pass coverage but is over an early-season groin injury and getting reps. He saw 11 snaps against the Chargers and that figures to rise as the Giants transition away from Clark, who is the final year of his contract.

 Hakeem Nicks - WRNov. 12 - 11:30 am et
Hakeem Nicks is fully expected to return to practice next week when the Giants come out of their bye.
Nicks has a flu bug and also reportedly took an shot related to the foot injury that bothered him earlier this season. The rookie will split time with Mario Manningham when the Giants take on the Falcons in Week 11.

 Danny Ware - RBNov. 11 - 2:23 pm et
The Giants' coaching staff is hoping to increase the usage of Danny Ware down the stretch, primarily as a third-down back.
Ware has two touches all year, but is an effective receiver and blocker, and could threaten Ahmad Bradshaw's snaps in passing situations. Brandon Jacobs is not used heavily on third downs unless he's getting short-yardage carries. Pick up Ware in deep leagues, but he needs an injury to truly matter.

 Aaron Ross - DBNov. 11 - 11:43 am et
Giants CB Aaron Ross (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since Sept. 30.
Ross first injured the hamstring on Aug. 9 and then re-injured it on Aug. 25. Getting Ross back would be huge for the reeling Giants as their secondary has been burned badly without Ross and Kenny Phillips. The Giants are on a bye and take on the Falcons in Week 11.

 Hakeem Nicks - WRNov. 11 - 11:22 am et
Hakeem Nicks missed the early portion of Giants practice Wednesday due to a 103-degree fever.
The impressive rookie has a Week 10 bye to get over his apparent flu bug. It's worth pointing out that Nicks did not start last week's loss. Mario Manningham got the nod, and the two continue to form a timeshare at split end.

 Gerris Wilkinson - LBNov. 11 - 9:19 am et
Giants placed LB Gerris Wilkinson (wrist) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Wilkinson probably isn't in the Giants' long-term plans. He's in the final year of his contract and is behind Chase Blackburn and Brian Kehl on the depth chart. The 2006 third-round pick finishes the season with nine tackles.

 Dominique Johnson - DBNov. 11 - 9:13 am et
Giants signed CB D.J. Johnson off the Broncos' practice squad.
The Giants worked out 14 free agents Tuesday in the midst of their four-game losing streak. They've been wretched against the pass since losing Kenny Phillips and sorely need secondary talent, but Johnson won't save them.

 Shane Andrus - KNov. 10 - 6:47 pm et
Giants worked out kickers Shane Andrus and Sam Swank Tuesday.
Lawrence Tynes injured his knee in Week 9, though it's not believed to be serious. He's also come under fire of late, so the Giants may just be keeping their watch list up to date.

 Hakeem Nicks - WRNov. 10 - 3:56 pm et
Giants coach Tom Coughlin said his first priority during the bye week is to fix the team's red zone problems.
Even though they'll never admit it, it's pretty obvious this team misses Plaxico Burress badly. Hakeem Nicks is probably the best candidate for those jump balls, but he's still splitting time with Mario Manningham. Kevin Boss has two touchdowns in the last two weeks and is someone worth monitoring in touchdown heavy leagues.
