 Troy Polamalu - DBNov. 20 - 1:40 pm et
NFL.com's Jason La Canfora reports the Steelers are "hopeful" that Troy Polamalu's PCL sprain won't cost him more than three games.
Polamalu is already out for Week 11, and La Canfora calls his odds of playing the following week "remote." While Polamalu's PCL injury isn't to the same ligament that cost him four games early this year, it is to the same knee, which is cause for plenty of concern. Tyrone Carter will continue to start.

 Limas Sweed - WRNov. 20 - 10:17 am et
Limas Sweed is out of the doghouse after three straight weeks of good practices.
"He's done it in practice. He's earned the right to get back out on the field," coordinator Bruce Arians said. "I have confidence in him, but we're not going to take Heath [Miller] out to put a fourth wideout in right now, especially with the zone blitz packages we're seeing. He just has to bide his time."

 Troy Polamalu - DBNov. 20 - 10:13 am et
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Troy Polamalu (PCL sprain) will not play Sunday at Kansas City.
The Steelers are optimistic about Polamalu's knee not being a long-term issue, but he's yet to practice this week and isn't ready to rejoin the lineup. Tyrone Carter will draw the start against a Chiefs offense missing its most explosive weapon in Dwayne Bowe (suspension). Bench your K.C. skill players.

 Mike Wallace - WRNov. 20 - 12:27 am et
Steelers WR Mike Wallace (illness) returned to practice Thursday.
Wallace will resume his deep-threat role against a burnable Chiefs secondary this week. He's worth consideration as a boom or bust WR3 in standard scoring leagues.
 Ben Roethlisberger - QBNov. 19 - 10:46 pm et
Ben Roethlisberger sat out parts of Thursday's practice with a with a wrap on his right elbow.
Asked if his arm was the reason he misfired on several balls in last week's loss, Roethlisberger replied, "I hope not." This could just be Big Ben playing the drama queen role again with a minor injury, as he added that he just had a "bad day" against the Bengals and there are no excuses. Roethlisberger is not listed on the Steelers' injury report this week.

 Mike Wallace - WRNov. 18 - 6:31 pm et
Mike Wallace missed Steelers practice Wednesday with an illness.
He'll probably regroup and be back on the practice field Thursday. Like the rest of the Steelers' skill players, Wallace disappointed with just one catch for 16 yards in Week 11 against Cincinnati. With sub-4.4 speed, the rookie will give a molasses-slow Chiefs back four more problems in Week 11.
 Arnold Harrison - LBNov. 18 - 4:44 pm et
Browns claimed LB Arnold Harrison off waivers from the Steelers.
Harrison, 27, can offer Cleveland little more than special teams value.

 Troy Polamalu - DBNov. 17 - 1:40 pm et
Troy Polamalu has not been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs despite suffering a PCL strain in Week 10.
Coach Mike Tomlin deemed Polamalu "questionable at best" for this week, so he remains more likely to sit than play. Tomlin also said it's not a "re-injury" of the MCL he sprained early in the season. The Steelers are "more encouraged than initially" about Polamalu's knee, and they're officially labeling him day to day.

 Troy Polamalu - DBNov. 17 - 12:34 pm et
Troy Polamalu has a PCL strain and did not re-injure the MCL that caused him to miss four games earlier this season.
This is great news for the Steelers. The PCL strain is in the same knee as his previous injury, but it shouldn't keep him out as long. Coach Mike Tomlin admitted that Polamalu is "questionable at best" for Week 11, but sounded optimistic about his star safety's prognosis. We're estimating a 2-3 week timetable.

 Donovan Woods - LBNov. 17 - 12:13 pm et
Steelers signed LB Donovan Woods off their practice squad.
Woods appeared in five games for the Steelers last season as a special teamer. The former college quarterback won't help the team much on defense.

 Troy Polamalu - DBNov. 16 - 12:46 pm et
According to KDKA in Pittsburgh, an MRI revealed that Troy Polamalu's Week 10 knee injury is not as serious as the one he suffered in the Steelers' regular season opener.
The injury is being called a sprain. It's still a concern that Polamalu hurt the same knee that cost him four games earlier this season. Look for Tyrone Carter to start at strong safety for at least the next 2-3 weeks.

 Willie Parker - RBNov. 16 - 9:53 am et
Willie Parker played just two downs against the Bengals Sunday.
He played just one down the previous week against Denver. Parker is obviously no threat to Rashard Mendenhall's starting job.

 Ben Roethlisberger - QBNov. 16 - 9:51 am et
Ben Roethlisberger had three passes batted down at the line of scrimmage, three more dropped by receivers, and 10 passes defended by the Bengals' secondary.
He was also sacked four times and constantly harassed. "From the get-go, we just weren't on," Big Ben said. Credit the Bengals' pass defense, which according to Steelers LT Max Starks used a "stand-up, roving defensive end, along with stunting, twisting blitzes from linebackers and the free safety." Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer has been a mastermind this season.

 Troy Polamalu - DBNov. 16 - 9:05 am et
Troy Polamalu was taken to the hospital for an MRI on his left knee late Sunday afternoon, but the Steelers players "acted as if the injury wasn't season-ending."
The players' optimism is a positive sign, but it's worth noting that they may not have any idea how serious the injury is. It's believed that Polamalu was hurt while tackling Cedric Benson, but even that is not known for sure. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette expects Polamalu to miss "at least a few games," with Tyrone Carter filling in.

 Mike Wallace - WRNov. 15 - 4:26 pm et
Mike Wallace caught one pass for 16 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
Wallace was targeted on a couple deep bombs, but was never open. He's still the clear No. 3 receiver and will have some big games, but these kind of stat lines are going to happen. He has three or less catches in seven of his nine games on the year.
 Heath Miller - TENov. 15 - 4:24 pm et
Heath Miller had four catches for 26 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
Miller now has just 44 total yards in his last two games, but that's not where his value is anyway. Miller was unable to get open in the red zone Sunday, something that should change against the Chiefs next week.
 Hines Ward - WRNov. 15 - 4:21 pm et
Hines Ward caught four passes for 26 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
The Steelers were completely inept in the red zone and Ward has to take some heat for that. But a lot of the credit goes to the Bengals' secondary, which was blanketed all over the Steelers receivers all day. Expect Ward to have a better game against the Chiefs next week.
 Santonio Holmes - WRNov. 15 - 4:19 pm et
Santonio Holmes caught seven passes for 88 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
Holmes is starting to re-assert himself as Ben Roethlisberger's favorite target. He has 13 catches in his last two games after having just 21 in his previous six. Holmes still has just one touchdown on the year, but he has a great chance to get one against the Chiefs next week.
 Ben Roethlisberger - QBNov. 15 - 4:15 pm et
Ben Roethlisberger completed 20-of-40 passes for 174 yards with no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
The Steelers used a pass-heavy attack but ran into a Bengals' secondary that is quickly becoming among the best in the league. Big Ben took plenty of shots down the field but couldn't get anyone open. Look for him to bounce back in a big way against the Chiefs next week.
 Rashard Mendenhall - RBNov. 15 - 4:12 pm et
Rashard Mendenhall was held to 36 yards on 13 carries and one catch for five yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
This was the first time Mendenhall has been shut down since taking over for Willie Parker. It's time we give this Bengals' defense a lot of credit as they completely dominated the line of scrimmage. Mendenhall didn't do anything to draw the ire of Mike Tomlin and will be set up for a big game against the Chiefs next week.
