 Antonio Gates - TENov. 20 - 5:42 pm et
Antonio Gates (probable, foot) practiced in full again on Friday.
Gates is certain to start Sunday against the Broncos. He's been getting Wednesday practices off to rest the foot he had surgery on prior to the 2008 season. Gates is a top-five fantasy tight end in all formats.
 Antonio Gates - TENov. 19 - 11:20 pm et
Antonio Gates (foot) returned to a full practice Thursday.
Gates was simply given a veteran day off Wednesday. He remains a TE1 this week even against a Broncos defense that has been tough on tight ends.
 Nick Hardwick - CNov. 19 - 9:42 pm et
The Chargers have ruled out C Nick Hardwick (ankle) for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Hardwick had a setback in his return from ankle surgery last Wednesday, and he hasn't practiced since. He's likely looking at a December return, as originally expected.

 Antonio Gates - TENov. 19 - 10:28 am et
Antonio Gates says he is completely healthy after nagging injuries limited his play in 2008.
Gates says he takes Wednesdays off just to "maintain feeling great." He's averaging 7.1 yards after the catch this season while his career mark is 4.4. Additionally, this is the first time in his career he has had more than 49 receiving yards in nine straight games. There's no reason to think he will have any drop off down the stretch.

 Antonio Gates - TENov. 18 - 5:03 pm et
Antonio Gates (foot) was held out of Chargers practice Wednesday.
Gates usually gets Wednesdays off. He'll play against the Broncos.

 Corey Clark - TNov. 18 - 4:52 pm et
Chargers signed OT Corey Clark off their practice squad.
Clark, a seventh-round pick two Aprils ago, will provide depth at right tackle. He doesn't have much upside and will likely be inactive on Sundays.

 Jyles Tucker - LBNov. 18 - 4:27 pm et
Chargers placed OLB Jyles Tucker (ankle) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Tucker had just four tackles in seven games. Viewed as a potential long-term in-house replacement for Shawne Merriman as recently as the start of the 2008 season, Tucker's stock tumbled when the Bolts used their 2009 first-round pick on Larry English. Tucker will return at his $570K salary for 2010.

 Tim Dobbins - LBNov. 17 - 8:15 pm et
Chargers ILB Tim Dobbins is due back from his knee injury this week.
Dobbins was averaging under five tackles a game with no forced fumbles, one interception, and a sack before his injury. The Bolts will rotate at inside 'backer next to Stephen Cooper, also using Kevin Burnett and Brandon Siler.

 Shawne Merriman - LBNov. 17 - 3:56 pm et
Chargers OLB Shawne Merriman is facing a $1.5 million civil suit from reality TV star Tila Tequila stemming from a domestic violence arrest in early September.
Merriman was arrested Sept. 6 after Tequila signed a citizen's arrest warrant accusing him of battery and false imprisonment. Merriman was not charged for his role in the incident.

 Vincent Jackson - WRNov. 16 - 10:33 am et
The Eagles used double-coverage on Vincent Jackson throughout his one-catch performance Sunday.
"They were very careful, and were not going to let us get the ball upfield to Vincent, and they doubled him most of the game," said coach Norv Turner. Instead, the Eagles left the middle of the field open for Antonio Gates to catch seven passes. V-Jax has emerged as one of the most dominant receivers in the league, so don't expect a repeat against Denver this week.

 Quentin Jammer - DBNov. 16 - 10:29 am et
Chargers CB Quentin Jammer was angry that Antoine Cason subbed in for two second-half series Sunday, one in place of each of the starters.
"I think Cason is a hell of a player and you gotta put him somewhere," said Jammer. "But don't (mess) with me. I don't want to be (messed) with. I was (angry) about it. I'm still (angry) about it." Coordinator Ron Rivera is intent on getting Cason more playing time, though he may to do it in nickel packages.

 Legedu Naanee - WRNov. 15 - 7:40 pm et
Legedu Naanee caught three passes for 42 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Eagles.
Naanee is getting a longer look with Chris Chambers out of the mix, but we need to see more before we recommend picking him up. He's still well behind Malcom Floyd on the depth chart, but does have six catches in his last two games.
 Malcom Floyd - WRNov. 15 - 7:37 pm et
Malcom Floyd caught three passes for 45 yards in Sunday's win over the Eagles.
Floyd has been a flop since taking over for Chris Chambers. He now has just seven catches in three games as a starter and wasn't targeted deep at all in this one. Floyd will be a flex play at best against the Broncos next week.
 Vincent Jackson - WRNov. 15 - 7:35 pm et
Vincent Jackson had just one catch for 10 yards in Sunday's win over the Eagles.
It's hard to explain this stat line. Jackson was not hurt at all and was covered by special teamer Dimitri Patterson for much of the game after Sheldon Brown (hamstring) left. The Chargers focused on the running game and just didn't make an effort to get the ball to V-Jax. Expect him to bounce back even in a tough matchup at Denver next week.
 Antonio Gates - TENov. 15 - 7:32 pm et
Antonio Gates caught seven passes for 78 yards in Sunday's win over the Eagles.
Gates took advantage of the Eagles' depleted linebacking corps and blown coverages. His seven catches were the most since he put up nine against the Steelers in Week 4. He's as consistent as they come at the tight end position heading into next week's game at Denver.
 Darren Sproles - RBNov. 15 - 7:28 pm et
Darren Sproles rushed two times for 14 yards and caught four passes for 31 yards in Sunday's win over the Eagles.
LaDainian Tomlinson ran effectively and Sproles is a complete afterthought in the running game. Sproles isn't even an option in PPR leagues anymore as he has just 114 total yards in his last three games.
 Philip Rivers - QBNov. 15 - 7:25 pm et
Phillip Rivers completed 20-of-25 passes for 231 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's win over the Eagles.
It wasn't a monster fantasy day, but Rivers was almost flawless in real life. He was incredibly accurate and moved well in the pocket. Rivers didn't even use Vincent Jackson and was still effective. He's a QB1 even in a tough matchup at Denver next week.
 LaDainian Tomlinson - RBNov. 15 - 7:21 pm et
LaDainian Tomlinson rushed 24 times for 96 yards with two touchdowns in Sunday's win over the Eagles.
Where did that come from? Tomlinson set a season-high for rushing yards in a tough matchup and actually broke tackles on his way to his two scores. Of course, Tomlinson did limp off at one point in the second half but returned. LT2 looked strong, but let's see him do it again before we give him RB2 status. He's a flex play against the Broncos next week.
 Nick Hardwick - CNov. 15 - 3:12 pm et
Chargers declared C Nick Hardwick, DB Dante Hughes, ILB Tim Dobbins, third QB Charlie Whitehurst, OG Tyronne Green, WR Craig Davis, DE Vaughn Martin and OLB Jyles Tucker inactive for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
Hardwick (ankle) is the most notable injury, as the Chargers' running game has missed him badly. Kevin Burnett is back, mediating the impact of Dobbins' injury.
 Shawne Merriman - LBNov. 15 - 9:56 am et
Chargers OLB Shawne Merriman (foot) says he was surprised the team listed him as "questionable" for Week 10.
"I'll play, I'll play," he said. "It's just the tendinitis. Not anything serious." Merriman didn't practice enough this week for the Chargers to be comfortable listing him as probable, but he will play against Philadelphia.
