 Steven Jackson - RBFeb. 9 - 5:41 pm et
Las Vegas police cited a lack of evidence in closing the assault case against Steven Jackson brought on by allegations from his former girlfriend.
Detectives talked to all parties involved after Jackson was accused of beating his then-pregnant girlfriend, who is now the mother of his young son. With insufficient evidence, the investigation is complete and the case closed. Jackson, who had vigorously denied the accusations, is not expected to be punished by the league.

 Jason Smith - TFeb. 6 - 3:13 pm et
Jason Smith will likely stay at right tackle if Alex Barron is re-signed.
Coach Steve Spagnuolo has no qualms about playing Smith at left tackle, but Barron is likely to be retained as a restricted free agent in the uncapped year. Jason Brown will return at center and Jacob Bell at left guard, but the team will need to find a right guard after releasing Richie Incognito late in the season.

 Michael Vick - QBFeb. 6 - 10:00 am et
Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo talked about Michael Vick on Friday and did little to squash the rumors of the quarterback heading to St. Louis.
"I've got a lot of respect for Michael as a player. Everything I've heard out of Philadelphia is kind of good. We haven't gone down that road in our process yet. I think he's a terrific player," Spags said. Spagnuolo rarely says anything so his comments regarding Vick say a lot. Rams' assistants are probably gathering information from their Eagles' counterparts, and St. Louis looks to be the favorite to land the former Pro Bowler.

 Justin Medlock - KFeb. 3 - 2:42 pm et
Toronto Argonauts K Justin Medlock recently worked out for the Falcons and Texans.
Medlock failed to impressive the Chiefs and Rams in earlier stints, but he's drawing NFL interest after nailing 40 of 46 field goals with Toronto. The Texans also worked out journeyman Dave Rayner, signaling that Kris Brown will have competition for his job after an abysmal 2009 season.

 Michael Vick - QBFeb. 3 - 12:28 pm et
ESPN's NFC East blogger Matt Mosley doesn't believe the Eagles will end up keeping Michael Vick for the 2010 season.
NFL Network's Michael Lombardi reported Tuesday that the Eagles "have no intention" of trading Vick, and they're excited about "incorporating" his skills into the offense with a full offseason. We still believe the report was planted only to increase trade demand for Vick. If the Eagles can get a decent draft pick, Vick is as good as gone.

 Nick Moore - WRFeb. 3 - 11:35 am et
Rams signed WR Nick Moore to a futures contract.
Nick is Lance Moore's brother and caught 78 balls at Toledo in 2008. He'll spend the offseason with the Rams and battle with guys like Jordan Kent and Brooks Foster for a roster spot next season.

 Ricky Foley - LBFeb. 2 - 5:42 pm et
British Columbia Lions LB Ricky Foley, CFL's sacks leader in 2009, is scheduled to visit the Patriots on Thursday.
Foley has already visited with the Jets and will also meet with the Rams. Foley's agent admits his client isn't as good as former BC Lions teammate Cameron Wake of the Dolphins, but he could end up on NFL roster as a special teamer.

 Steven Jackson - RBJan. 28 - 5:52 pm et
Steven Jackson denies allegations that he assaulted his ex-girlfriend, the mother of his young son, in March of 2009.
"The accusations are especially hurtful because those who truly know me know that those actions would be out of character for me," said Jackson in a prepared statement. "Miss Harris is the mother of my son, a son that I love and that I willingly support emotionally and financially."

 Steven Jackson - RBJan. 28 - 4:11 pm et
The Rams released a statement saying they are in the process of gathering information regarding Steven Jackson's alleged assault of a former girlfriend.
"We are aware of the situation involving Steven Jackson," said the release. "We are always concerned with issues involving our players." Jackson has not been arrested or charged in connection with the incident.

 Steven Jackson - RBJan. 28 - 1:26 pm et
Steve Jackson has been accused of assaulting a former girlfriend who was nine months pregnant at the time.
The incident allegedly occurred in March of 2009, with Supriya Harris claiming she was pushed to the ground repeatedly, suffering bleeding wounds in the process. Harris gave birth to her son shortly after the incident, and says she left Jackson after he threatened her again. Jackson, who has a clean record since entering the league in 2004, has not been arrested.

 Ndamukong Suh - DLJan. 28 - 1:13 pm et
Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh has signed on with Maximum Sports Management, the same agents who represented Michael Crabtree in 2009.
Roosevelt Barnes, not Eugene Parker, will serve as Suh's lead agent. Crabtree's dispute was rooted in his perceived value as the top receiver in the draft whereas Suh is considered a near lock to go No. 1 overall. Suh's representation shouldn't be a major stumbling block this year.

 Michael Vick - QBJan. 28 - 9:20 am et
Beat writer Allen Wilson suspects the Bills would only be interested in a Michael Vick trade if the Eagles' demands "aren't too outrageous."
"It's doubtful the Bills would get into a bidding war," adds Wilson. There are a half-dozen teams with a quarterback need, but the Rams appear to be the only other team seriously considering a trade for Vick. Bills coach Chan Gailey has a history of getting the most out of the passing and running skills of athletic QBs.

 Josh McCown - QBJan. 27 - 10:09 pm et
The Panthers are not expected to re-sign backup quarterbacks Josh McCown and A.J. Feeley.
McCown's season ended early due to knee and foot injuries, while Feeley spent virtually the entire year as Carolina's third-string signal caller. Feeley could appeal to the Rams, whose offensive coordinator tutored him in Philly, or the Eagles, who are likely to move Mike Vick and/or Donovan McNabb.

 Bradley Fletcher - DBJan. 27 - 11:55 am et
The Rams believe that CB Bradley Fletcher (torn LCL and ACL) will be ready for training camp.
We're a little hesitant to believe this considering the severity of Fletcher's injury. However, if Fletcher is able to participate in camp he'll enter 2010 as the favorite to start opposite Ronald Bartell.

 Michael Vick - QBJan. 27 - 11:52 am et
Beat writer Jim Thomas believes the Rams are "seriously considering" trading for Michael Vick.
The Rams wouldn't have to give up much to get Vick and adding him would allow them to focus on filling their many other gaping holes. Vick knows Rams GM Billy Devaney from their time together in Atlanta and would bring instant excitment/controversy to a dormant Rams franchise. His addition would likely also lock in Ndamukong Suh as the No. 1 overall draft pick.

 Ndamukong Suh - DLJan. 22 - 2:10 pm et
In a conference call with media Friday, NFL Network's Mike Mayock called Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy the best two players in the draft.
Mayock compared Suh to a better version of Kevin Williams. He also said there's "no way in the world, in my mind" that a quarterback could move into the top two draft picks. Suh was much more productive than McCoy in 2009 and is better against the run. Clearly, he is the favorite to go to St. Louis.

 Chris Bradwell - DLJan. 20 - 9:19 am et
Rams signed DT Chris Bradwell to a reserve/future contract.
Bradwell, 26, spent the final three months of last season on the Rams' practice squad. He'll participate in their offseason program.

 Eric Butler - TEJan. 15 - 8:54 am et
Rams signed TE Eric Butler and LB Dominic Douglas to reserve/futures contracts.
Butler is a smallish tight end who caught just eight passes as a senior in college, so he's going to have to make it as a special teamer.

 Michael Vick - QBJan. 15 - 8:50 am et
Beat writer Jim Thomas expects the Rams' brass to discuss the possibility of signing or trading for Michael Vick in next week's organizational meetings.
GM Billy Devaney worked with Vick in Atlanta and even visited him in prison. Coach Steve Spagnuolo and OC Pat Shurmur are tight with Eagles coach Andy Reid, who has spoken in glowing terms about the "changes" Vick has made in his life. The Rams desperately need a QB, and Vick would be a good fit in the Edward Jones Dome. Using a late round pick to reel in a QB would allow the Rams to select Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh with the No. 1 pick.

 Marcus Brown - DBJan. 12 - 8:57 am et
Rams signed CB Marcus Brown, DE/TE Sean Conover, OL Drew Miller, OG Mark Lewis to reserve/future contracts.
All of the above will be hard pressed to make even the lowly Rams in 2010.
