 Donovan McNabb-QB- EaglesFeb. 8 - 1:08 pm et
ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports that the Broncos, Bills, and Browns have shown interest in the availability of Donovan McNabb.
While Cleveland and Buffalo has obvious holes at QB, this tells us a little about Denver's faith, or lack of it, in Kyle Orton as a long-term solution. The Eagles have indicated that McNabb is unlikely to be traded. Should they be offered a first-round pick however, we strongly believe that would change.

 David Garrard-QB- JaguarsJan. 24 - 8:26 pm et
David Garrard has been selected to the Pro Bowl as Peyton Manning's replacement, according to Garrard's agent Phil Senich.
Needless to say, he's brutally undeserving. Garrard, who finished the year with a 15:10 TD-to-INT ratio, threw multiple touchdown passes in just five games all season and was horrible on the road. Garrard still apparently got more fan votes than Kyle Orton, who completed a higher percentage of passes, threw for more yards, and had 21 TDs compared to 12 INTs.

 C.J. Spiller-RB- PlayerJan. 21 - 12:33 am et
According to beat writer Armando Salguero, the Dolphins are "impressed" with Clemson RB C.J. Spiller.
Salguero also "wouldn't be surprised if" the Broncos draft Spiller, despite Denver having used last year's 12th overall pick on Knowshon Moreno. So take this with a grain of salt. Salguero notes that Spiller's durability "especially" appeals to Fins VP of football operations Bill Parcells. Miami remains far more likely to use its top pick on defense than a tailback.

 Dolphins Defense-TM- DolphinsJan. 18 - 9:19 pm et
ESPN's John Clayton reports that Mike Nolan is close to an agreement with the Dolphins that will make him their next defensive coordinator.
The Fins reportedly asked permission to interview Nolan even before his "mutual" parting with Denver. Nolan and Josh McDaniels decided to cut ties shortly thereafter. Nolan is the third key member of McDaniels' staff to exit after just one season, joining ex-Broncos OL coach Rick Dennison (now Texans OC) and RBs coach Bobby Turner (now with the Redskins).

 Dolphins Defense-TM- DolphinsJan. 18 - 6:49 pm et
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Dolphins plan to interview Mike Nolan for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
The quick show of interest isn't surprising. Miami may be Nolan's likeliest landing spot. The Fins have a 3-4 in place, which Nolan traditionally has used, and are attractive because they offer plenty of talent on defense.

 Redskins Offense-TM- RedskinsJan. 13 - 12:35 pm et
Redskins hired Bobby Turner as associate head coach/running backs.
He replaces Stump Mitchell. Turner, 60 years old and a 15-year veteran running backs coach, is unlikely to put up with Clinton Portis' annually lackadaisical offseason routine. It's possible Mike Shanahan will put Turner directly in charge of making sure Portis conforms. If not, Portis could be cut.

 Texans Offense-TM- TexansJan. 12 - 6:42 pm et
Former Broncos OL coach Rick Dennison has accepted the Texans' offensive coordinator position.
Gary Kubiak's best friend has big shoes to fill after Kyle Shanahan's offense set team records in points and total yards. An assistant with the Broncos for 15 years, Dennison was a constant in Denver's strong running game. He's expected to improve the Texans' struggling ground attack while having some influence on play-calling. Since Dennison has little experience with the passing game, Kubiak could resume a hands-on role in that capacity.

 Redskins Offense-TM- RedskinsJan. 11 - 9:25 pm et
The Redskins have reportedly offered Broncos RBs coach Bobby Turner a spot on their staff, with the title of "associate head coach."
This would be an upward move for Turner, who's only been a position coach in the NFL. He has overseen Denver's running backs for 15 years, coaching up Tatum Bell and Reuben Droughns, among others, to 1,000-yard seasons.

 Texans Offense-TM- TexansJan. 10 - 12:55 pm et
The Texans have been granted permission to interview Broncos OL coach Rick Dennison for their offensive coordinator job.
The interview is considered a "formality," as Dennison is the heavy favorite to replace Kyle Shanahan. Dennison has a long history with Gary Kubiak.

 Redskins Defense-TM- RedskinsJan. 6 - 8:59 am et
Bob Slowik is expected to be part of the Redskins' coaching staff under Mike Shanahan, but not the defensive coordinator.
Thank goodness. Shanahan let Slowik coordinate his Denver defense in 2008, and the club finished 29th in total defense, 30th in points allowed, and 27th against the run. He'll be better off coaching linebackers or something.

 Redskins Offense-TM- RedskinsDec. 20 - 12:38 pm et
Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post reports that Mike Shanahan plans to bring his son Kyle and defensive guru Bob Slowik with him should he land as the Redskins' head coach.
The Redskins might be getting themselves a better head coach by luring Shanahan out of "retirement," but it will cost them Greg Blache, one of the top defensive coordinators in the game. Kyle Shanahan is currently the Texans' offensive playcaller under Gary Kubiak. Slowik worked under Mike in Denver.

 Bills Offense-TM- BillsNov. 18 - 3:47 pm et
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Bills have already contacted Mike Shanahan about their head coaching vacancy.
The Bills are reportedly "in the process" of setting up a visit with Shanahan, and The Mastermind "is willing to listen." While the Browns are targeting Mike Holmgren to be their overseer, Shanahan has emerged as Bills owner Ralph Wilson's desired candidate. Shanahan's hiring, which wouldn't occur before January, would likely cost current Bills GM/COO Russ Brandon his job.

 Dominique Johnson-DB- GiantsNov. 11 - 9:13 am et
Giants signed CB D.J. Johnson off the Broncos' practice squad.
The Giants worked out 14 free agents Tuesday in the midst of their four-game losing streak. They've been wretched against the pass since losing Kenny Phillips and sorely need secondary talent, but Johnson won't save them.

 Jack Williams-DB- LionsNov. 9 - 6:08 pm et
Lions claimed CB Jack Williams off waivers from the Broncos.
The Colts, Browns, and Eagles also put in claims, but Detroit had first dibs. Williams, a fourth-round pick last year, has terrific speed and some potential as a nickel back, but was routinely picked in on that spot with Denver.

 Redskins Offense-TM- RedskinsOct. 19 - 5:23 pm et
According to AOL NFL Fanhouse, Redskins owner Dan Snyder recently tried hiring former Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan to replace Jim Zorn in-season, but Shanahan declined.
"Shanahan told the franchise there was little he could do in the middle of the season for them and that changing coaches during the season in the NFL rarely works," a source told Fanhouse, adding that DBs coach Jerry Gray is the most likely interim option should Snyder fire Zorn in the coming weeks. Snyder figures to approach Shanahan again immediately after this season.

 Kory Lichtensteiger-C- RedskinsSep. 6 - 6:27 pm et
Vikings claimed C/G Kory Lichtensteiger off waivers from the Broncos.
Denver paid Lichtensteiger a $484K signing bonus in July, but tried to get him on the practice squad anyway. The Vikes are now only on the hook for his minimum salaries. The athletic guard/center bumped Jon Cooper off the club.

 Vonnie Holliday-DL- BroncosSep. 4 - 8:58 pm et
Free agent DE Vonnie Holliday is scheduled to visit with the Broncos this weekend.
Holliday has the size to play end in a 3-4, which the Broncos will need if reports of Le Kevin Smith's torn meniscus are true. Holliday could help early in the season as a rotational lineman.

 David Harris-LB- JetsSep. 2 - 7:34 pm et
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Broncos are asking for Jets ILB David Harris in any trade scenario involving Brandon Marshall.
Unsurprisingly, the Broncos have quickly soured on Andra Davis at inside linebacker next to D.J. Williams. The Jets are too thin themselves, and Harris too cheap, young, and good to part with easily. A trade is almost certainly out of the question if the Broncos want Harris and a first-round pick.

 Kevin O'Connell-QB- JetsSep. 2 - 9:26 am et
The Broncos were one of four teams to put in a waiver claim on QB Kevin O'Connell.
O'Connell worked under Broncos coach Josh McDaniels last season, and the team has no obvious quarterback of the future. Also putting in for O'Connell: the Browns and Jets.

 Ingle Martin IV-QB- BroncosAug. 26 - 10:46 am et
Free agent QB Ingle Martin is expected to sign with the Broncos Wednesday if he passes a physical.
Martin, a floating fourth quarterback for the past couple of seasons, would just be around for depth. Chris Simms' ankle injury will likely keep him out for a couple of weeks.
