New York, New York - Nevermind

You may have caught the first edition of the Daily Dose, which was posted for about a total of five minutes. So much for that, as my 1,000-word diatribe about how great Allen Iverson was going to look in a Knicks jersey was shot to heck just after I posted the Dose, as news broke that the Knicks have decided not to pursue Iverson. I don't remember a week where I was told there was a 90 percent chance of two unrelated things happening, and then seeing neither come to fruition, but that's what happened with Iverson to the Knicks, and when Hedo Turkoglu actually played last Sunday.

In any case, Iverson is not going to the Knicks now, a decision I'm guessing was made by owner James Dolan. Dolan has recently decided he doesn't want to deal with guys with shaky backgrounds and he probably put an end to the plans of Donnie Walsh and Mike D'Antoni on this one. Iverson is back on the market and could still end up signing with another team, but the Knicks were the perfect fit. I'm just going to hang onto him until we see what happens over the next few days, but this is a punch in the gut for those of us who picked him up recently. I read somewhere recently that Dolan could have serious issues with signing AI, but it just didn't seem like Walsh was going to be stopped on this one.

Welcome Back, Marc's Brother

Pau Gasol returned in a big way on Thursday night, hitting 9-of-15 shots for 24 points and 13 boards. Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom both had 11 points and eight boards, which is a bit of a buzz kill. But it's just one game, and while I think Odom is now a shaky play, Bynum is going to continue to start in the middle and rack up points, boards and blocks. Just probably not at the 19-11-1.7 rate he was previously. And late news broke that he left with an ankle injury last night, but says he'll play on Sunday. Let's hope so.

Kobe Bryant scored 21 points, moving past Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar into second place on the Lakers' all-time scoring list with 24,182 points. Jerry West (25,192 points) is the only one left ahead of Bryant on the Lakers' list.

Unwanted, Dead or Alive?

Tracy McGrady got into it with coach Rick Adelman recently after putting on his uniform and warming up with the team as if he was going to play on Wednesday. He's recovering from knee surgery and is ready to get back into the action with the Rockets, but it's really starting to look like they simply don't want him to come in and mess up their 7-5 mo-jo. They're going to wait until he has an MRI on the Nov. 23 before setting a target date for his return, but they may continue to sit him out until further notice, collecting insurance checks along the way. I have no idea how this is going to end, but even when T-Mac was last healthy, he wasn't much of a fantasy threat. Feel free to grab him, but I'm going to let someone else deal with the headaches that come with owning him. And I think you should do the same.

Season Pass Is Here

The NBA Season Pass is up and running. Constantly updated cheat sheets, weekly projections and tiers, subscriber-only chats, exclusive columns and more. Check it out! The new numbers are cycled around 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Bad News For Bogut

Andrew Bogut is going to miss two-to-four weeks with a leg strain, leaving the Bucks with guys like Dan Gadzuric, Kurt Thomas, Francisco Elson and possibly even Hakim Warrick to fill in at center. Yuck. If you're in a very deep league, Gadzuric might be worth an add, but that doesn't look like a fantasy-friendly group of guys.

Michael Redd could return from his knee injury tonight and it will be interesting to see how that works. Luke Ridnour, who has been hot off the bench, probably takes the biggest hit, while it remains to be seen what kind of impact he'll have on Brandon Jennings, Carlos Delfino and Ersan Ilyasova. Charlie Bell was starting in his place, but not doing much anyway.

Man-u Down, Again

Manu Ginobili will miss seven-to-10 days with his groin injury and you can bet Gregg Popovich is going to handle him with extreme care upon his return. George Hill, who had 18 points and two assists last night, is a solid pickup right now, and was set to get more playing time even if Manu were healthy.

Erick Dampier should return at some point for the Mavericks but is listed as 'out indefinitely.' Drew Gooden should remain a solid play for the short-term, and possibly the rest of the season.

Mehmet Okur missed his second straight game with the flu last night, but is feeling better and may be back on Saturday. Paul Millsap had 20 points and seven boards, while Carlos Boozer had 18 points, 11 boards and five assists. Okur's return will hurt Millsap, who continues to be a major disappointment due to a healthy and happy Boozer. Wesley Matthews is starting at small forward for the Jazz, but has yet to do much. Just keep your eye on him.

Troy Murphy (back) is practicing with the Pacers and could actually play tonight against the Cavs, but he's still not at full strength and I wouldn't plan on using him until next week. I am hopeful that the Brandon Rush experiment is over and that the Pacers will reward Dahntay Jones' strong start with a permanent job. A starting lineup of T.J. Ford, Jones, Danny Granger, Murphy and Hibbert, with Rush and Earl Watson off the bench looks good to me, but we'll have to see which way Jim O'Brien goes once Murphy is ready to start again. Rush could start over Jones, but it's going to be a tough decision for O'Brien to make, as Jones has been one of the bigger surprises of the season (just as Rush has been a bust).
