Rotoworld hands out draft day grades to the teams in the Western Conference.

 Chad LaRose-C-HurricanesJul. 2 - 10:04 pm et
The Hurricanes re-signed Chad LaRose to a two-year, $3.4 million contract.
LaRose came into his own this season by scoring 19 goals and 31 points in 81 games and impressed even more in the post-season with four goals and 11 points in 18 games. He is a versatile forward that can, and has played all forward positions and on all four lines.

 Stefan Meyer-W-CoyotesJul. 2 - 9:55 pm et
The Coyotes signed Stefan Meyer to a one-year deal.
Financial terms of the deal weren't released. Meyer's rights were acquired in the deal that sent Steven Reinprecht to the Panthers in mid-June. He had 18 goals and 40 points in 65 AHL games last season and will be a depth player at best for the organization.

 Jordan Leopold-D-PanthersJul. 2 - 7:50 pm et
The Panthers signed Jordan Leopold to a one-year deal worth $1.75 million.
Florida received the negotiating rights to Leopold when they dealt Jay Bouwmeester to Calgary. The two sides weren't able to broker a deal prior to Leopold becoming a free agent on July 1, but they kept talking and made the deal. It makes losing Bouwmeester a little more palatable. Leopold had seven goals and 24 points with the Avalanche and Flames last season.

 Robert Scuderi-D-KingsJul. 2 - 4:51 pm et
The Kings signed Rob Scuderi to a four-year, $13.6 million deal.
The man who saved the Cup for the Penguins will be plying his impressive defensive skills in California now. Perhaps no other player increased his value as much as Scuderi did with his incredible play throughout the post-season. Unfortunately that doesn't translate to fantasy success as his one goal and 16 points in 81 games prove.

 Mikhail Grabovski-C-Maple LeafsJul. 2 - 3:22 pm et
The Leafs re-signed Mikahil Grabovski to a three-year, $8.7 million deal.
The youngster will earn $2.9 million per season, on average, and GM Brian Burke will be expecting the forward to continue his development. He was solid at times last year, when he finished with 20 goals and 48 points in 78 games, but was also wildly inconsistent. He certainly has 30-goal potential, but it may take a few years until he reaches the consistency needed to achieve it.

 Lawrence Nycholat-D-CanucksJul. 2 - 3:16 pm et
The Canucks signed Lawrence Nycholat to a contract Thursday.
Terms of the deal weren't released. Nycholat was with the Canucks earlier this season before he was placed on waivers and lost to the Flames, who immediately traded him to the Avalanche. Nycholat had just one point in 19 NHL games last season.

 Karlis Skrastins-D-StarsJul. 2 - 3:09 pm et
The Stars signed defenseman Karlis Skrastins to a two-year deal worth $1.375 million per season.
Skrastins had four goals and 18 points in 80 games with the Panthers last season and is a solid defensive defenseman that will help keep pucks out of Marty Turco's net. So in that respect, he has some fantasy impact.
