Roy Halladay-S- Blue Jays Nov. 21 - 1:11 pm et

Blue Jays President and CEO Paul Beeston told the New York Post that Roy Halladay is "not inclined" to re-sign with Toronto.
"We would like to sign him, he is an original Blue Jay and we have never had a pitcher as good as him," Beeston said. "But he is not inclined to sign with us." New general manager Alex Anthopoulos has already been aggressive in talking to other clubs about Halladay, with an intent to move him this offseason.
 Johnny Damon-OF- Yankees Nov. 21 - 12:56 pm et

Ken Davidoff reports that the Yankees' priority right now is Johnny Damon, with Hideki Matsui on the back-burner.
Even though Matsui turned heads in the World Series, Damon is the better property going forward considering he can hold his own in the field. Agent Scott Boras is pushing for a four-year deal, but we can't see anything more than two years. The Yankees and Damon should be able to come to an agreement fairly shortly, freeing up resources to devote to the free agent market.
Jason Bay-OF- Red Sox Nov. 21 - 9:15 am et

The Red Sox are "looking hard at alternatives" for Jason Bay, reports Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated.
It's been known for a while now that Jason Bay has rejected a four-year, $60 million contract from the Red Sox, preferring to test free agency instead. The Red Sox have been linked to Matt Holliday, but they've seemingly been linked to everyone by this point. Bay will likely sign for a deal greater than the one he rejected, but it won't be by much.
 Curtis Granderson-OF- Tigers Nov. 21 - 9:02 am et

Phil Rogers says that many in the Cubs front office feel it would be "foolish" to trade prospect Starlin Castro to Detroit for Curtis Granderson.
Castro has quickly established himself as the best Cubs prospect after his showing in the Arizona Fall League. Granderson, conversely, has been one of the best centerfielders in the game (against right-handed pitching) and is thought to be available. Rogers, who writes for the Chicago Tribune, says that Cubs GM Jim Hendry "appreciates" what Granderson brings to the table and wonders if new hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo could help address Granderson's platoon issues. If the Cubs won't give Castro up in a Granderson deal, it will be extremely tough to pull off.

 Vance Wilson-C- Royals Nov. 21 - 8:22 am et

Royals resigned catcher Vance Wilson to a minor league contract.
Wilson missed the beginning of spring training with a right elbow injury. The 36-year old batted .270/.342/.461 in 229 at-bats for Double-A Northwest Arkansas. He'll compete for a major league spot in spring training.
 Shelley Duncan-OF- Yankees Nov. 21 - 8:19 am et

Yankees outrighted first baseman-outfielder Shelley Duncan from Triple-A Scranton/Wilks-Barre.
This being Duncan's second time with an outright assignment gives him the ability to become a free agent, which he will do so. The son of Cardinals pitching coach Dave Duncan, Shelley just never could break into the Yankees bench despite flashing solid power. He'll hook on elsewhere and hope to be the next Garrett Jones.
Roy Halladay-S- Blue Jays Nov. 20 - 9:38 pm et

Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports cites a source who says the Blue Jays and Dodgers have resumed talks of a possible Roy Halladay trade.
Brown adds that it looks like new general manger Alex Anthopoulos "is restarting the process of moving Doc." Earlier today, in a report from Carrie Muskat of MLB.com, we learned that the Blue Jays told the Cubs that they intend to move the 32-year-old right-hander this winter. Of the teams linked in conversation regarding Halladay, the Dodgers may need Halladay the most.

 Ezequiel Carrera-OF- Mariners Nov. 20 - 8:37 pm et

Mariners purchased the contracts of OF Ezequiel Carrera, RHPs Anthony Varvaro, Danny Cortes, Ricky Orta, J.C. Ramirez and LHP Edward Paredes.
The players are now safe from being selected during December's Rule 5 draft. Carrera, who was acquired from the Mets in the J.J. Putz trade last December, batted .337/.441/.416 with two homers, 38 RBI, 27 stolen bases and 68 runs scored in 91 games for Double-A West Tennessee in 2009. Varvaro, 25, will be the starting pitcher for Peoria in Saturday's Arizona Fall league title game.
 Dustin Ackley-1B- Mariners Nov. 20 - 8:22 pm et

Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik said 2009 second overall pick Dustin Ackley will start working out at second base.
"We are not etching this into stone to say this guy will be the second baseman of the future," Zduriencik said. "It's just something we do." Ackley's work at second base should give Zduriencik a better indication of what to do personnel-wise going forward, since the 21-year-old is expected to arrive in the majors rather quickly. Ackley was an outfielder and first baseman with North Carolina, and has played center field during his pro debut in the Arizona Fall League.
 Austin Jackson-OF- Yankees Nov. 20 - 6:49 pm et

Yankees purchased the contracts of OF Austin Jackson, INFs Reegie Corona, Eduardo Nunez, Kevin Russo and RHPs Hector Noesi, Ivan Nova and Romulo Sanchez.
The seven are now protected from December's Rule 5 draft. Jackson, 22, batted .300/.354/.405 with four home runs, nine triples, 23 doubles, 65 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 132 games for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2009, and is often mentioned as New York's center fielder of the future.
Roy Halladay-S- Blue Jays Nov. 20 - 6:26 pm et

The Blue Jays have contacted the Cubs regarding Roy Halladay, reports Carrie Muskat of MLB.com.
Don't get too excited, Cubs fans. Muskat writes that Chicago can't afford Halladay's $15.10 million salary in 2010 without including Milton Bradley in the deal. Unfortunately for the Cubs, Bradley isn't on Toronto's wishlist. In addition, the Blue Jays will likely ask for top prospect Starlin Castro, a player the Cubs are hesitant to part with. Either way, the Blue Jays told the Cubs that they intend to move Halladay this winter.

 Tug Hulett-2B- Royals Nov. 20 - 6:16 pm et

Royals designated infielder Tug Hulett for assignment.
The Royals cut Hulett to make room on the 40-man roster. The 26-year-old infielder spent most of the season at Triple-A Omaha, but batted .111/.158/.111 with one RBI in 18 at-bats with the big club. Hulett hasn't done much at the major league level, but he has shown good on-base skills while playing all over the diamond in the minors.
 Danny Valencia-3B- Twins Nov. 20 - 5:37 pm et

Twins purchased the contracts of INFs Danny Valencia and Estarlin De Los Santos, and RHPs Deolis Guerra, Alex Burnett, Loek Van Mil and Rob Delaney.
The players are now on Minnesota's 40-man roster and are safe from selection in the Rule 5 Draft. Valencia, 25, could compete for the Twins' third base job this spring if they don't find a solution on the open market. He hit .286 in '09 with seven homers and 41 RBI in 71 games at Triple-A Rochester.
 Chris Waters-R- Orioles Nov. 20 - 5:14 pm et

Orioles designated LHP Chris Waters for assignment.
Waters appeared in five games (one start) this season on the major league level, posting a 5.40 ERA and 5/5 K/BB ratio in 11 2/3 innings. He had a 4.49 ERA in 29 appearances (20 starts) at Triple-A.
Robert Manuel-R- Red Sox Nov. 20 - 5:10 pm et

Red Sox claimed RHP Robert Manuel off waivers from the Mariners.
Maneul, 26, posted a 2.88 ERA and 49/16 K/BB ratio in 65 2/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level. His numbers are strong, but he has sub-par stuff and may be destined for a career in middle relief.
 Jeff Bianchi-2B- Royals Nov. 20 - 4:55 pm et

Royals purchased the contracts of INF Jeff Bianchi, OF Jordan Parraz, OF Jarrod Dyson, C Manny Pina and RHP Blake Wood.
The roster moves protect the players from being selected in the Rule 5 Draft. Bianchi hasn't exactly built on his impressive professional debut in 2006, but he managed a respectable .308/.358/.435 batting line this season between two different minor league levels and is only 23 years of age.
 Craig Tatum-C- Orioles Nov. 20 - 3:36 pm et

Orioles claimed C Craig Tatum off waivers from the Reds.
Tatum, 26, hit .239/.300/.338 with three homers and 21 RBI in 213 at-bats this season with the Reds' Triple-A affiliate in Louisville, Kentucky. He was given 68 major league at-bats and managed just 11 hits.
 Robb Quinlan-OF- Angels Nov. 20 - 3:15 pm et

According to MLB.com's Lyle Spencer, a handful of teams have shown interest in utilityman Robb Quinlan this offseason.
Quinlan, 32, hit .243/.275/.339 with two homers and 14 RBI in 2009 while playing sub-par defense at a variety of positions. Interested clubs are obviously hoping he'll sign on as a cheap, somewhat versatile backup.

 Scott Sizemore-2B- Tigers Nov. 20 - 2:13 pm et

Tigers purchased the contracts of 2B Scott Sizemore, SS Audy Ciriaco, 1B/OF Ryan Strieby and OF Brennan Boesch.
The four players are now on Detroit's 40-man roster and subsequently protected from the Rule 5 Draft. Sizemore, 24, underwent surgery in October to repair his left ankle but should be fine for the start of spring training. He'll get a shot to compete for the 2010 starting second base gig as long as the Tigers don't do something unexpected this winter on the free agent market.
Sergio Santos-SS- White Sox Nov. 20 - 1:06 pm et

White Sox purchased the contracts of RHPs Brandon Hynick, Brian Omogrosso, Sergio Santos, Santo Luis, and OF Stefan Gartrell.
The transaction protects all five players from the Rule 5 Draft. Santos, 26, was converted into a pitcher prior to the 2009 season and went 0-3 with a 8.16 ERA in his first year on a professional mound.
