 Josh Fogg-R- Rockies Apr. 9 - 11:43 pm et

Josh Fogg picked up his first win as a Red by allowing three runs -- one earned -- in five innings Wednesday against the Brewers.
Dusty Baker outmanaged Ned Yost by knowing when to turn to the bullpen. Fogg had thrown just 64 pitches, but the Reds still took the opportunity to pinch-hit for him when they were threatening in the sixth, helping them score three runs in the inning and take a 5-3 lead. The Reds have been considering skipping Fogg's next turn after the off day Monday. They'll probably want Aaron Harang pitching Tuesday instead.
 Dave Bush-S- Brewers Apr. 9 - 11:39 pm et

Dave Bush was charged with five runs -- four earned -- in 5 2/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Indians.
Since Ned Yost just doesn't know how to use him, maybe Bush should go to the pen to make room for Yovani Gallardo. It happened all of the time last year that Bush would fade after five innings, and Yost has let him pitch poorly in the sixth in both of his starts this season. It was an even worse decision to keep him in tonight when they could have pinch-hit for him in the bottom of the fifth (he singled, but that's really not the point). Bush, who allowed two runs through five, gave up three singles and a sac fly before being pulled in the sixth. David Riske then came in and allowed two inherited runners to score. As a result, Bush's ERA stands at 8.44 after two starts.
 Edgar Renteria-SS- Giants Apr. 9 - 11:35 pm et

Edgar Renteria finished 3-of-4 with two doubles on Wednesday night.
He drove in two runs and scored two more as the Tigers offense finally got things going. All seven of the team's RBI came from the bottom four spots in their lineup, however, with Marcus Thames and Carlos Guillen both hitting home runs.
Sean Casey-1B- Red Sox Apr. 9 - 11:26 pm et

Sean Casey finished 2-for-4 with a run scored on Wednesday night.
Casey entered the game after Mike Lowell hurt his wrist on a play at third. Lowell is day-to-day, so Casey could fill in for a couple of days.
 Zack Greinke-S- Royals Apr. 9 - 11:22 pm et

Zack Greinke pitched eight innings of shutout baseball in the rain to beat the Yankees on Wednesday night.
Greinke has now allowed one run in fifteen innings against the Yankees and Tigers this season. He consistently worked the inside of the plate, and his pitches showed great movement. Greinke finished last year strong, and his solid start to this season has him looking like a possible break-out candidate in 2008.
 Ian Kennedy-R- Yankees Apr. 9 - 11:16 pm et

Ian Kennedy allowed two earned runs in three innings after entering Wednesday night's game in the seventh inning.
With rain expected in Kansas City, manager Joe Girardi decided to use relievers to start the game in hopes of bringing in Kennedy after what he thought was an imminent rain delay. The rain materialized, but the delay never did. Don't panic just yet, as this one can easily be written off to extenuating circumstances.
 John Buck-C- Royals Apr. 9 - 11:12 pm et

John Buck homered and finished 2-for-4 in the Royals' victory over the Yankees.
Buck, Jose Guillen, Ross Gload and Tony Pena Jr each had an RBI on Wednesday night. The home run was Buck's first of the season, and he's now hitting .250. After a breakout start to 2007, Buck has toiled in mediocrity. He'll need to step it up if he wants to keep his job past this year.
 Robinson Cano-2B- Yankees Apr. 9 - 11:02 pm et

Robinson Cano extended his hitting streak to four games on Wednesday night.
It was pretty much the only thing to be excited about for the Yankees offense. After starting 1 for his first 16, Cano now has five hits in his last four games to bring his average all the way up to .188. He's solidifying his reputation as a slow starter.
 Jarrod Washburn-S- Tigers Apr. 9 - 10:55 pm et

Jarrod Washburn pitched seven innings of one-run ball to beat the Rays on Wednesday night.
He allowed six hits and one walk in the effort, striking out two. Washburn had a very successful spring, and was rumored to be working on a new grip of his changeup, but his success tonight is just as likely a result of facing a cold Rays offense.
 Andy Sonnanstine-S- Rays Apr. 9 - 10:46 pm et

Andrew Sonnanstine allowed four earned runs in six innings to take the loss against the Mariners.
He put up almost the same line as in his season debut. He allowed seven hits and finished with three strikeouts and two walks on the evening. Expect more of the same in his next start against the Yankees.
 Jamie Burke-C- Nationals Apr. 9 - 10:40 pm et

Jamie Burke finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI as the Mariners beat the Rays on Wednesday night.
Most of the damage came on a three-run homer, the second of Burke's career. The backup catcher also did a nice job tagging out Willie Aybar in a play at the plate. Still, Burke doesn't figure to see much playing time, even if Kenji Johjima is struggling at the plate.
 Willy Aybar-1B- Rays Apr. 9 - 10:35 pm et

Willie Aybar hit two doubles in Tampa Bay's loss to the Mariners on Wednesday night.
Aybar didn't finish with any RBI thanks to the first five members of the Rays lineup finishing 1-for-18. The doubles are an encouraging sign that Aybar is starting to find his modest power, but he only has a few months to impress before the Rays call up Evan Longoria.
 Mike Jacobs-DH- Royals Apr. 9 - 10:23 pm et

Mike Jacobos hit two home runs and drove in four runs to lead the Marlins on a 10-to-4 rout of the Nationals on Wednesday night.
Jacobs, moved down to the fifth spot in the order due to Jeremy Hermida's return, finished 2-for-4. He now has four home runs and nine RBI on the season, but is hitting only .212. Dan Uggla added to the damage, hitting two doubles, driving in two runs and also scoring.
 Scott Olsen-S- Nationals Apr. 9 - 10:15 pm et

Scott Olsen allowed three runs in 7 2/3 innings to beat the Nationals on Wednesday night.
Olsen was taken out with men on first and second in the eight, and Lee Gardner proceeded to let both runs score on a Paul Lo Duca double. It was a very encouraging start for Olsen, who seems to be rounding into shape after missing much of the spring. He'll face the Braves in his next start.

 Jason Bergmann-R- Nationals Apr. 9 - 10:11 pm et

Jason Bergmann allowed seven runs in five innings to take the loss against the Marlins on Wednesday night.
Just like in his first start, Bergmann started off strong but was killed by a big inning, this time allowing seven runs in the fifth. Most of the damage came off two home runs, something the flyball pitcher will have to control if he wants to be successful. He'll get the Mets in his next start, making him a poor play.
Jeremy Hermida-OF- Red Sox Apr. 9 - 10:06 pm et

Jeremy Hermida went 2-for-5 with two doubles in his return to action on Wednesday night.
Hermida had a fly ball bounce out of his mitt in the second inning, but atoned for the error by driving in two runs and scoring one himself. Hermida was plugged right into the third spot in the order, and is safe to activate.
 Cristian Guzman-SS- Nationals Apr. 9 - 9:59 pm et

Christian Guzman finished 2-for-5 with a solo shot against the Marlins on Wednesday night.
Guzman now has six RBI on the season and is hitting .326. He seems firmly entrenched at the top of the Nationals' order, but don't count on him continuing to hit over .300.
Andrew Sisco-R- White Sox Apr. 9 - 9:35 pm et

Triple-A Charlotte's Andrew Sisco underwent Tommy John surgery and will miss the rest of the season.
Perhaps this explains why his command has gone from subpar to abysmal. Sisco hasn't shown nearly as much promise the last two years as he did when he entered the league with the Royals in 2005. He might be recovered in time to compete for a bullpen spot next spring.
 Robinson Tejeda-R- Royals Apr. 9 - 9:33 pm et

Rangers sent RHP Robinson Tejeda outright to Triple-A Oklahoma.
The rebuilding Giants were crazy to pass on Tejeda so that they could keep Keiichi Yabu in middle relief, and the Pirates should have happily exchanged Rule-5 pick Evan Meek for him. There's a couple of other teams that also would have been smart to make a move. Since none of them realized it, the Rangers will keep the hard-throwing right-hander.
 Rafael Soriano-R- Braves Apr. 9 - 9:25 pm et

Braves placed RHP Rafael Soriano on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 7, with right elbow tendinitis.
It's going to be hard to take the Braves seriously going forward when it comes to Soriano. This is the second time they've downplayed a supposedly very minor problem. Peter Moylan will be the favorite for saves for the next couple of weeks. Manny Acosta should take over the eighth inning role.
