Stewart ended up ninth, but the result was not indicative of the overall performance. "I wouldn’t say we had a very strong car, but we did get good track position," said Stewart after logging his 10th top-10 finish in 11 career Budweiser Shootout starts.

These suspension packages to qualify here are very aggressive and I’m just pleased that I kept it on the straight and narrow."

The results from the two 150 milers will determine the starting field (positions 3-43) for the Daytona 500.  Jamie McMurray- Earnhardt Ganassi Racing-1 Feb. 7 - 5:50 pm et

He quickly raced his way inside the top five during the opening 25 lap session. Following the ten minute break after lap 25, continuing to run inside the top five, McMurray would eventually fall victim to "picking the wrong lane" on the superspeedway, falling as far as 19th. As the race closed to an end he would find himself in position to win as he raced in the second position. The caution flew for the final time on lap 69. He took he green flag on lap 73 in the third position. Kasey Kahne (second) and eventual race winner Kevin Harvick would prove to be too much.

Kevin Harvick- Richard Childress Racing-29 Feb. 6 - 11:18 pm et

Kevin Harvick has won the Budweiser Shootout for the second consecutive season, blowing past Greg Biffle in the exhibition race.
Harvick was in fourth when the racing resumed with two laps to go at Daytona International Speedway. He quickly pulled out of line to dive underneath Biffle and claim the lead. Jeff Gordon rammed into the back of Biffle moments later to trigger a huge accident behind the leader. NASCAR waited several moments before calling caution, presumably to see if the wreckage cleared and the race could end under green. Instead, Harvick passed under the yellow flag and won under caution. Kasey Kahne was second and followed by Jamie McMurray, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin. -NASCAR.com
Scott Speed- Red Bull Racing-82 Feb. 6 - 6:55 pm et

Joe Nemechek- NEMCO Motosports-87 Feb. 6 - 6:51 pm et

After qualifying on Saturday for next Sunday's Daytona 500, Joe Nemechek, was fast enough that even if he doesn't run well Thursday in his quailfying race, he can rely on his time-trial speed for a spot in the 500.
Nemechek, who qualified 16th, was nervous, in part, because he owns his car. He is trying to run both the Nationwide and Cup series this year in his own equipment. "It’s definitely huge," Nemechek said. "To come down here and be so close and to miss it by a few thousandths [from time trials last year] was really disheartening. To come back and make it and be locked in the week before the 500 means a lot. -SceneDaily.com
