 Troy Williamson-WR- Jaguars Aug. 30 - 11:20 pm et

Troy Williamson made the Jaguars roster.
The Jaguars kept six receivers. Once Jerry Porter gets healthy, the team could consider releasing Williamson.
 Fred Taylor-RB- Patriots Aug. 30 - 10:08 pm et

According to his agent, Fred Taylor was not arrested at a Miami nightclub incident early Saturday.
Said his agent, "It’s nothing more than a ticket. . . . He was never formally arrested, never booked, didn’t post a bond and he has not been charged with anything. We’re pretty confident obviously that he won’t be charged with anything." It sounds minor enough not to get in Taylor's way of playing this season.
 Kenneth Darby-RB- Rams Aug. 30 - 9:42 pm et

Bucs released RB Kenneth Darby, KR Michael Spurlock, OGs Chris Denman, Brian Johnson and Phil Bogle, DT Chris Bradwell, OTs Chris Clark and Dennis Roland, TE Daniel Fells, CB Marcus Hamilton, and FB Carl Stewart
Darby wasn't needed with vets Warrick Dunn and Michael Bennett backing up Earnest Graham. Rookie Dexter Jackson's explosive return ability made Spurlock expendable.
 Matt Leinart-QB- Cardinals Aug. 30 - 9:33 pm et

Matt Leinart will open the season on the bench.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt believes Leinart will get a chance to play this season. We agree. He also says Leinart remains the future for the Cardinals. Not so sure about that one. Leinart could have QB2 value later in the year when Kurt Warner gets hurt.
 Peyton Manning-QB- Colts Aug. 30 - 9:27 pm et

The Colts only kept two quarterbacks on their roster, proving how confident they are in Peyton Manning's health.
Manning's backup Jim Sorgi also supposedly had a knee injury, but the Colts were just playing it safe by resting him. Manning is a virtual lock to play Week 1.
 Lavelle Hawkins-WR- Titans Aug. 30 - 9:21 pm et

Titans WRs Lavelle Hawkins, Chris Davis, and Paul Williams all made the Titans as reserves.
They beat out Roydell Williams and Biren Ealy. Brandon Jones appears entrenched behind starters Justin McCareins and Justin Gage, so there isn't much upside with these three.
 Josh Johnson-QB- Buccaneers Aug. 30 - 9:16 pm et

Following the release of Chris Simms, rookie QB Josh Johnson has made the Bucs roster.
The team will carry four quarterbacks. Johnson didn't play much this preseason, leading to questions about his development as a talented, but raw rookie. He's an interesting stash in deep Dynasty leagues.
 Keary Colbert-WR- Lions Aug. 30 - 9:12 pm et

Keary Colbert made the Broncos' initial 53-man roster.
Mike Shanahan isn't willing to admit this mistake so fast. Still, Colbert is the team's fifth receiver and is unlikely to make any impact this season.
 Reggie Brown-WR- Eagles Aug. 30 - 9:11 pm et

Eagles WR Reggie Brown (hamstring) is expected back at practice this week.
Brown has missed most of the preseason with multiple injuries, but the team will push him to start Week 1 with Kevin Curtis already out.
 Deion Branch-WR- Seahawks Aug. 30 - 9:06 pm et

Deion Branch escaped the Seahawks PUP list to start the season.
Branch likely won't be playing at 100 percent until later in the season, but he'll have a chance for playing time as soon as he can get back into football shape. Coach Mike Holmgren stated that he could begin practicing next week.
 Brett Basanez-QB- Bears Aug. 30 - 8:56 pm et

Panthers released QB Brett Basanez.
Basanez was the victim of bad luck. He's a coaching staff favorite and had a chance to make the team before Matt Moore's injury and poor play forced the Josh McCown trade.
 Anthony Alridge-RB- Redskins Aug. 30 - 8:56 pm et

Anthony Alridge tore a ligament in his left foot during the Broncos' preseason finale. He was placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
This came out of nowhere; he never appeared to be hurt in the game. Michael Pittman is now locked in as Denver's third-string tailback behind starter Selvin Young and Andre Hall, with Ryan Torain (arm) still on the roster. Alridge will likely face an uphill battle to make the team again in 2009.

 Ricardo Colclough-DB- Chiefs Aug. 30 - 8:53 pm et

Panthers released DBs Ricardo Colclough, Terrence Holt, Joe Fields, and Darren Toney, DTs Nick Hayden and Stephen Williams, DE Stanley McGlover, and LB Tim Shaw.
Colclough's timing was poor with this morning's DWI. The Holt family reunion won't happen in Carolina even if Torry does come home to play after his current Rams contract is up.
 Lex Hilliard-RB- Dolphins Aug. 30 - 8:48 pm et

Dolphins released RB Lex Hilliard.
The sixth-round pick got the axe, while Patrick Cobbs made the team as a fourth running back. Rookie Jalen Parmele also made the team at tailback.
 Chris Taylor-RB- Patriots Aug. 30 - 8:46 pm et

Texans RBs Chris Taylor and Steve Slaton are expected to see extra time in the season opener against the Steelers.
Ahman Green remains the starter, but he's not in football shape yet after missing the past two weeks with a groin injury. The first to enter for Green will be determined by Texans coach Gary Kubiak after he sees how Slaton looks in practice this week.
 Adam Archuleta-DB- Raiders Aug. 30 - 8:42 pm et

Raiders released Adam Archuleta.
And so the NFL cycle is complete. After you're cut by Oakland, it's safe to start making workout videos full time.
 Johnathan Holland-WR- Raiders Aug. 30 - 8:40 pm et

Raiders released WR Johnathan Holland, C Jesse Boone, CB Darrick Brown, DE Derrick Gray, DE Greyson Gunheim, FB Luke Lawton, CB-S Nate Lyles, WR Chris McFoy, P Glenn Pakulak, RB Louis Rankin, FB Marcel Reece, G Brandon Rodd, CB Nick Sanchez, and LB Shane Simmons, TE Darrell Strong, DB Marviel Underwood, CB Michael Waddell, TE Chris Wagner,RB Adimchinobe Echemandu, and DT Josh Shaw.
The Raiders are keeping three reserve wideuts: Johnnie Lee Higgins, Todd Watkins, and Chaz Schilens. That's an ugly group for JaMarcus Russell to throw to, meaning Javon Walker, Ronald Curry, and Zach Miller should see most of the targets.
 Arman Shields-WR- Raiders Aug. 30 - 8:38 pm et

Raiders placed WR Arman Shields (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Shields played in Oakland's preseason finale and was not known to be re-injured, so we're not sure how the team justified this one. He wouldn't have made any impact as a rookie anyways.
 Toniu Fonoti-G- Lions Aug. 30 - 8:35 pm et

Panthers released OGs Toniu Fonoti, Milford Brown, and Evan Mathis, and OTs Geoff Schwartz, and Rueben Riley.
The team talked up Fonoti as a potential starter all offseason, but he was unable to beat out veteran Keydrick Vincent. They elected to go with rookie Mackenzy Bernardeau rather than the veteran linemen.
 Cliff Russell-WR- Broncos Aug. 30 - 8:31 pm et

Broncos released WR Cliff Russell, DB Tyrone Poole, and S Vickiel Vaughn.
Russell and Vaughn are former NFL Europe players. Poole is at the end of the line.
