 Sam Hurd-WR- Cowboys Sep. 9 - 11:58 pm et

Cowboys WR Sam Hurd caught a 51-yard TD pass in Week 1.
It was Hurd's only catch, but it was a big one, putting the game out of reach for the Giants. Hurd should be watched in deep leagues as long as Glenn is out.
 Patrick Crayton-WR- Cowboys Sep. 9 - 11:57 pm et

Cowboys WR Patrick Crayton caught three passes for 51 yards.
His longest came on a 25-yard slant. With Terry Glenn out, he should be the Cowboys' third receiving option behind T.O. and Witten.
 Jason Witten-TE- Cowboys Sep. 9 - 11:54 pm et

Jason Witten exploded for 116 yards and a touchdown on six catches in Week 1.
Witten repeatedly got open running crossing routes, and Romo looked his way often. Witten excelled with Romo under center last year, and that seems to be the case this year. He is a solid TE1.
 Terrell Owens-WR- Bills Sep. 9 - 11:52 pm et

Terrell Owens caught three passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 1 victory.
Owens didn't catch his first pass until there was 12:13 left in the third quarter. He took over after that, helping the Cowboys put the game away. Tony Romo knows that Owens is happy as long as he scores, which makes him the favorite to lead wideouts in touchdowns.
 Julius Jones-RB- Seahawks Sep. 9 - 11:50 pm et

Julius Jones rushed 16 times for 66 yards in Week 1. He had one catch for 11 yards.
Jones was outperformed by Marion Barber, who had better stats and also seemed more explosive. The two should form a relatively equal committee this season.
 Marion Barber-RB- Cowboys Sep. 9 - 11:48 pm et

Marion Barber had 11 rushes for 65 yards and a touchdown in a Week 1 win. He also caught a 29-yard pass.
Barber looked quicker and more explosive that Julius Jones. Even John Madden said so. Barber had 12 touches, and Jones had 17. The numbers should even out if Barber keeps performing like he did tonight.
 Tony Romo-QB- Cowboys Sep. 9 - 11:46 pm et

Tony Romo completed 15-of-24 passes for 345 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in a Week 1 win. He also added a rushing touchdown.
Romo looked great against a banged-up New York secondary, and ends the day the league leader in passing yardage. He seems poised to have a great first year as a starter.
 Eli Manning-QB- Giants Sep. 9 - 11:30 pm et

Eli Manning was 28-of-41 for 312 yards with four touchdowns and an interception before leaving Sunday's game with a bruised right shoulder.
Hopefully Manning's injury isn't more serious, as he looked great against Dallas' secondary. He will undergo more tests tomorrow, and would be replaced by Jared Lorenzen if he misses significant time.

 Kevin Dockery-DB- Giants Sep. 9 - 11:05 pm et

Giants DB Kevin Dockery was carted off the field with an ankle injury on Sunday night.
He did not return. A serious injury to Dockery would be a blow to a defense that hasn't been able to stop the Cowboys in Week 1.
 Stephen Cooper-LB- Chargers Sep. 9 - 10:35 pm et

Chargers ILB Stephen Cooper made eight tackles, recovered a fumble, and forced a fumble in his debut as a full-time starter Sunday afternoon.
Cooper is a bona fide playmaker and has huge IDP potential in the position formerly manned by Randall Godfrey. Matt Wilhelm, his sidekick at Donnie Edwards' old MIKE spot, recorded five stops and also fell on a fumble.

 Greg Jennings-WR- Packers Sep. 9 - 9:57 pm et

Greg Jennings (hamstring) is not expected to practice on Wednesday.
Jennings was inactive for the opener and replaced by rookie James Jones.
 Dusty Dvoracek-DL- Bears Sep. 9 - 9:54 pm et

Bears NT Dusty Dvoracek suffered a sprained knee in Sunday's loss.
Dvoracek's backup is Anthony Adams, although Darwin Walker is a superior player and would likely start next to Tommie Harris if Dusty misses action.
 Vernand Morency-RB- Packers Sep. 9 - 9:47 pm et

The Packers are unsure about Vernand Morency's status for Week 2.
Morency's knee has been getting sore after practices so the Packers will look at him on a day-by-day basis. Starter Brandon Jackson appeared to play on most downs in Green Bay's opening day win over Philadelphia.
 Stephen Nicholas-LB- Falcons Sep. 9 - 9:41 pm et

Falcons LB Stephen Nicholas took over for starter Demorrio Williams during the second half of Sunday's loss to Minnesota.
Coach Bobby Petrino said he originally planned to play both players in a rotation, but Williams may be in danger of losing considerable playing time. Nicholas finished with five stops in the game while Williams only had two.
 Brandon Jacobs-RB- Giants Sep. 9 - 9:34 pm et

Brandon Jacobs sprained his knee on Sunday night.
Jacobs is out for tonight's game and will get an MRI tomorrow. His knee bent back in an ugly manner after a collision. Derrick Ward is lining up as the RB with Reuben Droughns as the FB. Jacobs owners should add Ward immediately.
 Jason Ferguson-DL- Dolphins Sep. 9 - 9:25 pm et

Jason Ferguson left Sunday's game with an injured elbow.
The specific injury is unknown, but Ferguson will not return tonight. Jay Ratliff will take his place.

 Osi Umenyiora-DL- Giants Sep. 9 - 8:43 pm et

Giants DE Osi Umenyiora went to the locker room and got x-rays, which were negative, on his leg in the first quarter on Sunday.
Umenyiora walked off the field under his own power, but more tests are expected tomorrow. Losing Umenyiora would be a huge blow to the Giants' already banged-up defense.
 Orlando Pace-T- Bears Sep. 9 - 8:19 pm et

Orlando Pace will undergo an MRI on his injured shoulder Monday. The Rams believe he could miss significant action.
It's a big blow if Pace misses much time. The seven-time Pro Bowler was out for a good chunk of last year, but the Rams had Todd Steussie to fill in capably. Steussie is not available until November due to foot surgery. We suspect Alex Barron will get a look at left tackle in practice this week.
 Mike Brown-DB- Chiefs Sep. 9 - 8:19 pm et

Bears S Mike Brown says his sprained knee "doesn't look too good."
Brown said, "It's a sprained knee right now. It doesn't look too good... It just hurts my feelings right now --" Brown then started to fight back tears. The playmaker has missed a majority of the last three years, but his loss definitely hurts the Bears' D.
 Fred Smoot-DB- Redskins Sep. 9 - 8:04 pm et

Redskins CB Fred Smoot started Sunday's contest over Shawn Springs.
A surprise. Springs is getting up there in age, however, and was used in the nickel package. Smoot knows the defense well, so he may hold onto the job.
