 Semyon Varlamov-G- Capitals Feb. 9 - 2:24 pm et

Semyon Varlamov (knee/groin) practiced with his Capitals' teammates on Tuesday.
He will travel with the team, along with goalies Michal Neuvirth and Jose Theodore, on their road trip this week and coach Bruce Boudreau said he has a goaltending rotation worked out. However, he was not willing to share that information and his goalies are in the dark as well. The Capitals play three games this week, so it is conceivable that they could all see one start. Stay tuned.
 Mike Green-D- Capitals Feb. 9 - 2:17 pm et

Mike Green was late for practice on Tuesday morning.
The offensive defender was forced to do some extra wind sprints by coach Bruce Boudreau as the rest of the team watched. When the Washington bench boss was asked if any other discipline would be taken he responded by saying, "I'm sure there will be." Green did not receive the text message that practice would be earlier than usual and so he showed up 15 minutes late. We'll let you know if anything comes of this.
 Mark Parrish-W- Lightning Feb. 9 - 2:09 pm et

Mark Parrish has cleared waivers and will be assigned to the minors.
He is expected to sign a two-way deal with the Lightning. However, their long-term plans with Parrish are unclear at this time.
 Brian Elliott-G- Senators Feb. 9 - 1:58 pm et

Brian Elliott will start for Ottawa on Tuesday night.
He was pulled in the Senators' 5-0 loss to the Toronto on Saturday after yielding four goals on 30 shots. Elliott was in the Ottawa crease for nine straight wins before that, so the team will give him another chance and Pascal Leclaire will have to wait a little longer to get back to starter status.

 Marian Gaborik-W- Rangers Feb. 9 - 1:52 pm et

Marian Gaborik hurt his knee at Rangers' practice on Tuesday.
He suffered a laceration to his knee in a one-on-one drill against New York netminder Henrik Lundqvist. Gaborik attempted to jump over the Rangers' goalie, but ended up being cut on the play. He received stitches in the training room and assistant GM Jim Schoenfeld declined to comment if Gaborik would be able to play on Wednesday night. Stay tuned.
 Doug Weight-C- Islanders Feb. 9 - 1:45 pm et

Doug Weight will be a healthy scratch for New York on Tuesday.
Coach Scott Gordon said he wanted to give his veteran captain a rest, but that he would be back in the lineup on Wednesday against Pittsburgh.
 Martin Biron-G- Islanders Feb. 9 - 1:41 pm et

Martin Biron will be between the pipes for the Islanders on Tuesday night against Nashville.
It will be his first start since December 27th. Biron played in two games for Bridgeport in the AHL this past weekend.
 Rob Davison-D- Devils Feb. 9 - 1:36 pm et

Rob Davison has been recalled from the minors.
The Devils made the move after Anssi Salmela suffered an apparent concussion on Monday night when he was blindsided by a hit from Flyers' forward Jeff Carter.

 Pekka Rinne-G- Predators Feb. 9 - 1:34 pm et

Predators radio man Tom Callahan is reporting that Pekka Rinne will make his fifth straight start in goal on Tuesday night.
Rinne has posted a 2-1-1 record in his last four games.
 Marc-Andre Bergeron-D- Canadiens Feb. 9 - 1:30 pm et

Marc-Andre Bergeron (leg/foot) is slated to miss the next six-to-eight weeks.
The injury occurred on Feb. 4 against Boston when he was struck in the leg with a shot. Keep him on reserve for now.
 Stephen Weiss-C- Panthers Feb. 9 - 1:26 pm et

Stephen Weiss is expected to use the Olympic break to rest his ailing lower-body injury.
He is projected to play in Florida's remaining three games before the NHL breaks for the Winter Games, which will include Tuesday's match-up with the Hurricanes. "He needs to get back 100 percent healthy," coach Pete DeBoer said. "Those two weeks are coming just at the right time for him." Weiss has one goal and four assists in his past 10 contests as his injury woes and the loss of Nathan Horton to injury have clearly impacted his game.

Tomas Holmstrom-W- Red Wings Feb. 9 - 1:18 pm et

Tomas Holmstrom (knee) is back to being a game-time decision for Tuesday's game against the Blues.
He exited the ice early on Tuesday morning from the team's optional skate and it isn't clear if his bruised knee will keep him out of tonight's contest. If Holmstrom is able to play he is expected to play on the Wings' top line with Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg. If he cannot suit up then Johan Franzen, who is returning from a knee injury, will take over that spot.
Johan Franzen-C- Red Wings Feb. 9 - 1:11 pm et

Just a breif remainder that, Johan Franzen (knee) will be back in the Red Wings' lineup on Tuesday night.
He skated on Monday and is looking forward to playing in in his first game since Oct. 8 due to a torn ACL in his left knee. "Really excited," he said. "I had a good practice. This was my first practice actually being on a line so it was a lot more fun, did some more drills with some physical things in it. I needed that."
Fredrik Modin-W- Blue Jackets Feb. 9 - 1:05 pm et

Fredrik Modin (foot) and Mike Commodore (charley horse) skated for about 30 minutes at practice on Tuesday before leaving the ice.
They should be considered doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Sharks at this time. Stay tuned.

 Steve Montador-D- Sabres Feb. 9 - 12:59 pm et

Steve Montador (hip) will not play on Tuesday night.
Coach Lindy Ruff said he hopes to have Montador back in the lineup by Thursday. We will keep you informed even though he doesn't have much fantasy value.

 Tim Kennedy-W- Sabres Feb. 9 - 12:55 pm et

Tim Kennedy will be back in the Buffalo lineup on Tuesday.
He sat as a healthy scratch on Saturday after posting a minus-5 rating last week in losses to Ottawa and Carolina. Kennedy has 18 points in 53 games this season. Matt Ellis will watch Tuesday's game from the press box instead.

 David Krejci-C- Bruins Feb. 9 - 12:51 pm et

David Krejci should be alright to play in Tuesday's game after suffering a leg injury on Saturday.
He was on the ice for the Bruins' morning skate Tuesday and said he felt fine. Vladimir Sobotka will take the pregame warm-up and he may get into the lineup should Krejci suffer a setback. Feel free to dress Krejci if you normally would though.

 Semyon Varlamov-G- Capitals Feb. 9 - 11:26 am et

Washington has called up Semyon Varlamov (knee/groin), who was in the AHL on a conditioning stint.
Varlamov stopped 26 shots in a 5-4 win with AHL Hershey Bears on Sunday. "I thought he got better as the game wore on," Bears Coach Mark French said. "I don't know what the game plan is. As far as I know, his health throughout the game was fine."
Andre Deveaux-W- Maple Leafs Feb. 9 - 11:19 am et

The Toronto Maple Leafs called up Andre Deveaux on Monday.
Deveaux was on the ice for 6:09 minutes in Monday's 3-2 loss to San Jose. He finished the game with a minus-one plus/minus rating.
