Boyd Gordon was activated from the IL on Saturday.
Gordon missed more than a month with a back injury. He was eased back into the lineup by coach Bruce Boudreau, only giving him 5:55 of ice time. He was held pointless.

Mike Knuble's broken left finger will require corrective surgery.
He will be out of action for 3-4 weeks. Look for Boyd Gordon to draw back into the Capitals' lineup in Knuble's place against the Devils Saturday night.

Gordon might play for Washington as soon as Friday. He's been sidelined for 12 games due to a strained back.

Gordon has been sidelined on a week-to-week basis due to a back injury, but the fact that he's back on the ice is a good sign. There's no word on when he might be able to return to Washington's lineup, but we'll keep you posted.

Boyd Gordon (back) is consider to be sidelined on a week-to-week basis.
He missed practice again on Saturday and a possible return date is unclear at this time. "He hasn't skated in three weeks, so if he was cleared for practice on Tuesday, I would have to believe it's another week after that before he's ready to play," said coach Bruce Boudreau.
