The Broncos restructured their front office on Thursday, promoting Brian Xanders to GM and firing Jim Goodman as VP of football operations and assistant GM Jeff Goodman.
This surprising move shows who has the juice in Denver. Goodman was supposed to be a key member of the front office moving forward, but Josh McDaniels clearly works better with Xanders. The Broncos also fired GM Ted Sundquist last year and long-time coach Mike Shanahan last month. The Goodman combo had an outstanding draft last year, netting starters Ryan Clady, Eddie Royal and Peyton Hillis, and a handful of key reserves. Xanders joined the Broncos in May after spending 14 seasons with the Falcons. Source: NFL.com
