Panthers LT Jordan Gross says his broken tibia and fibia will be healed by the Super Bowl.
Gross has yet to begin rehabbing, but is progressing nicely and will be off crutches in a few days. He's likely to be 100% by the start of training camp.

Panthers LT Jordan Gross (broken leg) expects to be cleared for "anything" in three months.
Gross said he suffered a "perfect break" of his tibia and fibia. He'll be on crutches for six weeks before beginning his rehab. Gross admitted that the team will "probably baby me through" the offseason program, but he'll be ready to go for training camp.

Panthers LT Jordan Gross revealed that he actually broke his tibia and fibula in his right leg.
It was originally thought that Gross broke his ankle, but that joint was not damaged. He has screws and plates holding his leg together, but this development shouldn't affect Gross' timetable for return. The Panthers' best offensive lineman should still be fine for next season's training camp.

Panthers placed LT Jordan Gross on injured reserve with a broken right ankle, ending his season.
Practice squad WR Charly Martin was activated to take Gross' place. The Panthers signed Gross to a $60M extension through 2014, so he'll certainly be back at his $4.5 million salary for 2010. Line play was not the reason for Carolina's slow start -- it was awful run defense and terrible decision making at quarterback. Gross suffered a clean ankle break and had surgery immediately, so the 29-year-old figures to be 100% well before '10 camp.

Panthers LT Jordan Gross had ankle surgery last night and is expected to land on inured reserve today.
It's another devastating blow to the Panthers, who lost linebacker Thomas Davis for the season last week. Gross was among their most reliable players and although Travelle Wharton has experience at left tackle, it's an obvious downgrade.

Updating a previous item, Panthers LT Jordan Gross was diagnosed with a broken right ankle and will likely miss the remainder of the season.
Guard Mackenzy Bernadeau came on in the second half, with LG Travelle Wharton kicking to Jake Delhomme's blind side. The 4-5 Panthers aren't out of the Wild Card picture, but the loss of their Pro Bowl left tackle is huge. Whlie Carolina's offense is built from the inside out, they lack quality depth at tackle. The Panthers' skill players should all be downgraded.
