Ravens placed CB Fabian Washington on injured reserve with a torn ACL, ending his season.

Washington finishes with 36 tackles and six PBUs. He's picked off just two passes in the last three seasons, is up and down as a cover man, and has never been good in run support. Baltimore will look to upgrade at corner behind Domonique Foxworth and promising Lardarius Webb this offseason.

Ravens CB Fabian Washington is expected to miss the rest of 2009 with a torn ACL, coach John Harbaugh revealed Monday.

We'd call it a blow to Baltimore's leaky pass defense, but Washington will be replaced by promising rookie Lardarius Webb. Webb has arguably been the club's best cover man when given the chance. Washington is headed for free agency in 2010. Coming off a season in which he was benched for poor tackling, then needed reconstructive knee surgery won't help his stock.

Ravens CB Fabian Washington has a sprained knee and is scheduled for an MRI on Monday.

Washington said he hopes to play again this season as he left the stadium on crutches. Expect Lardarius Webb to start in his place against the Steelers this week. Washington has been part of a struggling Ravens' secondary and the switch to Webb shouldn't hurt that much.

Ravens CB Fabian Washington was carried off the field during the fourth quarter Sunday with a left knee injury.

Washington's knee buckled while making a tackle on the sideline. Lardarius Webb stepped in.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh suggested that rookie CB Ladarius Webb has earned more playing time after filling in for Fabian Washington (thigh) for much of Sunday's game.

"He played well," Harbaugh said. "He flies around the ball and is a good tackler. He covered well and took advantage of his opportunity due to an injury." Webb was a major improvement on Washington in coverage and may push for the starting job.

Fabian Washington left Sunday's game against the Bengals with a thigh contusion.

It probably wasn't a coincidence that the Ravens defense started playing much better when rookie Lardarius Webb took over. Washington was getting eaten up by Chad Ochocinco.
