When asked about Josh Cribbs, beat writer Tony Grossi says "Yes, yes, yes. It will happen."
Cribbs has backed off his angry stance and now says he is confident that a deal will get done. Cribbs is a great player, but this saga has gone on for far too long now. It's getting almost Favre-esque, as Grossi points out.

Josh Cribbs brought nine of his core special teams blockers with him to Miami, and he's going to rotate wearing their jerseys the rest of the week.
Kudos for creativity. Cribbs also said he is confident that he can work out a new deal with the Browns, and he wants to be in Cleveland "when the ship is righted" under Mike Holmgren. He even remembered to shower the Browns fans with love, saying they're "bar-none, just amazing." The NFL's all-decade return man is a helluva guy.

The player rep for Josh Cribbs has had "very positive" dialogue with the Browns, and he expects to eventually come to an agreement on a new contract.
President Mike Holmgren and GM Tom Heckert made it clear this time that their initial offer was not of the "take-it-or-leave-it" variety. "We have a much clearer indication that something can be worked out and that it's not just lip service," explained the agent. Staying in Cleveland remains the most likely scenario for Cribbs.

Club president Mike Holmgren indicated that the $1.4 million contract the Browns offered Josh Cribbs is not their final offer.
Don't rule out Cribbs being in a Browns uniform next season just yet. Cribbs' agents are encouraged by Holmgren's latest words and something could still get done before the March trading period hits.

Josh Cribbs said he's willing to sit out next season if the Browns don't change their contract offer or trade him.
Cribbs, of course, is just getting leverage by making these comments as he appears on eight different ESPN shows today. There's no doubt he's furious with the Browns for their insulting "take it or leave it" offer, but this thing will get resolved. The trade market for Cribbs is hot.

In addition to the Dolphins, the 49ers reportedly inquired about Josh Cribbs' availability prior to October's trade deadline.
Cribbs' trade market is already red hot with nearly three months left before the trading period. In terms of compensation, 49ers beat writer Matt Maiocco says "some believe" Eric Mangini's Browns requested a second-round pick.
