Bills GM Buddy Nix says arm strength will be a key factor as the team attempts to find a franchise QB this offseason.
"You don’t bring a guy in here, a quarterback for example, that has questionable arm strength," explained Nix. "In this wind and this climate you’ve got to be able to throw through that. So you bring one in that can do that." Noodle-armed Ryan Fitzpatrick will only return as a backup. Trent Edwards has adequate arm strength, but is too afraid to use it.

Bills placed QB Trent Edwards (ankle) on season-ending injured reserve.
Edwards' ill-fated four-play stint in Sunday's game was a microcosm of his season behind the league's worst offensive line. A shell-shocked Edwards was turned into a checkdown master, ignoring his receivers outside the hash marks. Though Edwards is signed through 2010, it's clear that the Bills no longer have confidence in the injury-prone quarterback. If he returns next season, it will be in a backup role.

Trent Edwards' high-ankle sprain will reportedly end his season.
Edwards lasted just four plays, two of which resulted in sacks, when he replaced Ryan Fitzpatrick early in the fourth quarter last week. According to the Buffalo News, Brian Brohm is expected to start at Atlanta with Ryan Fitzpatrick also nursing an ankle injury. Pick up the Falcons defense on waiver wires this week.

Trent Edwards suffered a high ankle sprain during last week's loss to the Patriots and Brian Brohm is expected to start this week, a source tells the Buffalo News.
A high ankle sprain would knock Edwards out for the rest of the season. Ryan Fitzpatrick is dealing with an ankle injury of his own and has been ineffecitve when healthy, opening the door for the Brohm, who was just signed off the Packers' practice squad on Nov. 19. Brohm has exclusively worked with the Bills' scout team making this an even worse situation for Buffalo's passing game heading into Sunday's game against the Falcons.

According to the Associated Press, Bills third QB Brian Brohm "could get the call" in Week 16 at Atlanta because Ryan Fitzpatrick and Trent Edwards are both nursing ankle injuries.
Coach Perry Fewell says he doesn't know the severity of Fitzpatrick and Edwards' injuries, but it isn't like Buffalo has anything to lose by trotting Brohm out there. Neither Fitzpatrick nor Edwards is a long-term solution. If Brohm starts, the Falcons' fantasy defense could be worth a spot start.

Trent Edwards limped off the field with an ankle injury after replacing an ineffective Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fourth quarter Sunday.
Edwards was sacked twice in three plays, the last of which forced him from the game. He ended up being carted off the sidelines, and Fitzpatrick has re-entered as the quarterback.
