Bears RB Garrett Wolfe will undergo surgery on his left shoulder Friday.
Wolfe had to wait because he needed his lacerated kidney to heal before the operation. The special teamer will be out four months after the shoulder repair, so it's obviously serious. He still should be back for training camp.

 Garrett Wolfe-RB - Bears Nov. 20 - 12:20 pm et

Bears placed RB Garrett Wolfe on injured reserve with a lacerated kidney, ending his season.
Wolfe has always been impressive against third-stringers in the preseason, but isn't explosive enough to turn the corner consistently against starting defenders, struggles in blitz protection, and packs no power at 5'7/186. If Wolfe returns to Chicago in 2010, it'll be only because he can cover kicks.

Bears RB Garrett Wolfe is expected to miss the rest of the season with the lacerated kidney suffered two weeks ago.
Wolfe is expected to make a complete recovery, but there wasn't a realistic hope of him playing again this season. The Bears will need to add depth at running back, and promoting undrafted free agent Khalil Bell from the practice squad is a possibility.

Bears GM Jerry Angelo indicated that RB Garrett Wolfe's lacerated kidney could keep him out for the remainder of the season.
Wolfe's absence will hurt the Bears' special teams more than the offense. Adrian Peterson will continue to back up Matt Forte, and the Bears will be on the lookout for another back. Don't expect that back to be Larry Johnson.

 Garrett Wolfe-RB - Bears Nov. 12 - 7:12 pm et

Bears declared RB Garrett Wolfe, WR Juaquin Iglesias, S Al Afalava, S Kenny Payne, LB Piso Tinoisamoa, OG Lance Louis, DT Matt Toeaina, and DL Jarron Gilbert inactive for Week 10 against the 49ers.
Adrian Peterson will back up Matt Forte, but he's not likely to see more than a couple of touches. The Bears are banged up at safety, where Josh Bullocks will fill in for Afalava.
 Garrett Wolfe-RB - Bears Nov. 9 - 10:58 am et

Garrett Wolfe was taken to the hospital during the second half of Sunday's game with a lacerated kidney.
The injury was originally called a back injury, but clearly it was much more serious. He'll be in the hospital another day and is expected to be out at least a couple weeks. His loss hurts the Bears more on special teams than in the backfield, where Adrian Peterson will be Matt Forte's primary backup.
