Steelers signed QB Tyler Palko off their practice squad.
Palko, who was just signed this week, will immediately step in as the No. 2 quarterback. Dennis Dixon is the starter and Ben Roethlisberger (concussion) will be the emergency third quarterback. The Steelers are in trouble with Dixon -- if they have to go to Palko against the Ravens it could be a disaster.

The Steelers are expected to sign QB Tyler Palko to their practice squad, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Pittsburgh is thin at quarterback with Ben Roethlisberger (concussion) banged up and Charlie Batch (wrist) sidelined. There were rumors that they were looking at a veteran like Jeff Garcia, but the Steelers may see the local hero Palko as a worthwhile project. We wouldn't bet on him ever starting a game.
