Agent Ben Dogra confirmed that Jonathan Stewart's left Achilles surgery was designed to alleviate "lingering pain."
Stewart "re-tweaked" the ongoing Achilles injury in the season finale against the Saints. While it's worth noting that Stewart hasn't missed a game in his first two seasons, an Achilles procedure will have him limited in the offseason for the third straight year.

The agent for Jonathan Stewart (Achilles' surgery) said Wednesday that his client should be ready for May minicamps.
Agents are always too optimistic about their clients, so this doesn't mean much. Agent Ben Dogra did reveal that Stewart also had surgery on his pinkie finger Wednesday, though the latter procedure isn't a concern. Stewart remains likely to be limited all offseason, and perhaps into training camp.

Jonathan Stewart "tweeted" that he's undergoing surgery on his foot Wednesday.
Exact details aren't available, but the procedure is likely related to his troublesome Achilles' tendon, an injury that resulted from Stewart trying to overcompensate for his college turf toe. Stewart was barely able to practice all year, but wasn't hindered by the heel until the season finale. Any sort of Achilles' surgery is a big concern, so this will be a fantasy-related situation to monitor all offseason.

Panthers officials suggested that Jonathan Stewart's Achilles' tendon aggravation is not thought to be serious.
Stewart was walking without a limp after Sunday's season finale. As long as he doesn't need another operation on that troublesome heel, he'll be fine. Stewart is one of just six running backs to have double-digit touchdowns in each of the last two seasons.

Jonathan Stewart admitted after Sunday's win that he "re-tweaked" his Achilles injury against New Orleans.
The injury forced him from the game in the third quarter after Stewart piled up 125 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. The severity of the aggravation is still unknown, but there is no indication that Stewart will need another operation on his troublesome heel. Stewart's first-half effort moved him past DeAngelo Williams for the Panthers' rushing lead on the season.

Jonathan Stewart left Sunday's game with an Achilles injury.
He had 16 carries for 125 yards and a touchdown before exiting. Stewart has dealt with heel problems since his final season at Oregon, but there's no way to know if this is a serious aggravation. The Panthers wouldn't risk pushing him to return in the fourth quarter with a two-score lead and nothing to play for. Hopefully John Fox will give some sort of update on Monday.
