Texans signed S Brian Russell, formerly of the Jaguars.
Russell, 32 in February, started all of the Seahawks' 32 games in 2007-2008, but was released last offseason and has bounced around ever since. He'll add depth behind FS John Busing and SS Bernard Pollard for the Texans.

The Jags will likely use Brian Russell as Reggie Nelson's backup at free safety, pushing Gerald Alexander over to strong safety behind Sean Considine.

Free agents DB Brian Russell and OG Kynan Forney are currently en route to Jacksonville and expected to sign with the Jaguars on Tuesday.
The deals are pending physicals. Both vets would be backups on the Jags. Russell would likely fall in behind starting strong safety Sean Considine.
