Lions FS Louis Delmas was selected to be the team's defensive captain in Week 17.
Larry Foote was the captain all year, but Jim Schwartz wanted to send a message to Delmas by giving him the nod. While Delmas isn't a serious contender for Defensive ROY in the NFL's No. 32 pass defense, few rookies were more productive. He finished with 94 tackles, two picks, and seven pass breakups.

Lions FS Louis Delmas (ankle, Achilles) returned to practice on Friday and expects to play Sunday.
Delmas left last week's loss to the Ravens in the second quarter and did not return. The team's second-round pick has been one of the lone bright spots and is their best IDP option in the secondary.

The severity of Delmas' injury is unknown, but he says he "sprained it pretty bad." The rookie has been one of the few bright spots for the Lions and is their best IDP bet in the secondary.

Lions rookie FS Louis Delmas (infection) should be back in the starting lineup Sunday after he surprisingly was unable to play last week.
Delmas was active for the game, but his tooth infection flared up on him in warmups and he watched the entire game from the sideline. Delmas, who has been the Lions' best IDP bet in the secondary and a real bright spot, returned to a full practice Wednesday.

Lions rookie FS Louis Delmas is dressed but not playing in Sunday's game against the Lions because of a tooth and jaw infection.
Delmas' infection worsened during pregame warmups and it doesn't look like he'll play in the game unless the Lions get desperate. It's a big blow to the Lions as Delmas has been one of the few bright spots this season. Marquand Manuel took Delmas' place in the lineup.
