 Charlie Batch-QB- SteelersDec. 8 - 7:02 pm et
Charlie Batch (wrist) has resumed practicing in full for the Steelers.
Batch underwent surgery on the non-throwing wrist just two weeks ago, so he's ahead of schedule. We still expect Dennis Dixon to be the No. 2 QB this week, and perhaps for the remainder of the season.

 Charlie Batch-QB - Steelers Dec. 8 - 10:25 am et

Charlie Batch (wrist) will try to practice Tuesday for the first time since his surgery.
Batch will wear a soft cast on his non-throwing wrist. Dennis Dixon will almost certainly remain Ben Roethlisberger's backup for Thursday's game against the Browns.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin hinted that he'd be comfortable with Dennis Dixon as his No. 2 QB in 2010.
Tomlin praised Dixon's poise in a tough road game last week and said his "best days are ahead of him." Dixon already gives the team a better chance to win than Charlie Batch does, so expect the veteran to find a new address or retire in 2010.

 Charlie Batch-QB - Steelers Dec. 1 - 8:06 pm et

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Charlie Batch (wrist surgery) should be ready to return "in a couple weeks."
It remains to be seen if Batch will get his No. 2 quarterback job back from impressive second-year man Dennis Dixon, however. Batch fractured his left (non-throwing) wrist, but has become increasingly brittle over the last two seasons. The 35-year-old is very unlikely to be re-signed in the offseason.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin indicated that he will hold a roster spot for Charlie Batch after Wednesday's wrist surgery.
Original reports had Batch missing six weeks, but Tomlin said 2-4 weeks is realistic. Batch will have a metal plate inserted in his broken left wrist and likely won't resume practicing until mid-December. Dennis Dixon will assume No. 2 duties in the meantime.

 Charlie Batch-QB - Steelers Nov. 23 - 10:47 am et

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Steelers backup QB Charlie Batch needs wrist surgery and will be sidelined six weeks.
There are only six weeks left in the season, so Batch will be a candidate for injured reserve. With Ben Roethlisberger's (concussion) status up in the air this week, Dennis Dixon will have to at least be prepared to make his first NFL start. Dixon gave Batch a run for his money for the No. 2 job this summer, but the Steelers elected to stay with Batch's experience and accuracy edge over Dixon's athleticism and big-play ability.
