The Pistons will invite guard Chucky Atkins to training camp.
He'll simply be trying to make the final roster, but isn't a candidate to offer fantasy value this season.

 Chucky Atkins-G - Pistons Sep. 22 - 6:12 pm et

The Timberwolves waived veteran guard Chucky Atkins on Tuesday.
The arrival of Ramon Sessions and Sasha Pavlovic solidified the Wolves' backcourt and made Atkins superfluous -- he was only guaranteed $760,000 this year, which is the main reason Minnesota traded for him. Jerry Zgoda writes, "expect Mark Blount --and his $7.96 million expiring contract-- to be waived in the next week."

 Etan Thomas-F/C - Thunder Jul. 27 - 2:43 pm et

The Thunder have reportedly agreed to trade for Timberwolves center Etan Thomas. They will send Damien Wilkins, Chucky Atkins, and a 2010 second-round pick to Minnesota.
The Thunder might also give up another second-round pick in 2010 (they have five total picks) in order to bolster their frontcourt while shedding two superfluous contracts. None of the players involved should have significant fantasy value next season.

 Earl Watson-G - Pacers Jul. 17 - 8:14 pm et

The Thunder waived backup point guard Earl Watson on Friday.
He started in 18 games with OKC last year and averaged 6.6 points, 5.8 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 26.1 minutes per game. This could be a blessing for Watson, and he is rumored to be a target of the Pacers, who will be looking for a backup point guard if they don't match Toronto's offer to Jarrett Jack. Shaun Livingston and Chucky Atkins should back up starter Russell Westbrook.
 Earl Watson-G - Pacers Mar. 26 - 10:52 am et

Earl Watson has not played in the last six games after an abrupt benching on March 15.
The decision is peculiar for several reasons. Watson had been playing some of his best ball of the season and Chucky Atkins, who has taken most of the minutes, hasn't exactly played well. Both Watson and coach Scott Brooks deny any kind of behind-the-scenes altercation or ill-feelings.

 Earl Watson-G - Pacers Mar. 16 - 11:33 am et

Thunder coach Scott Brooks was nonchalant about his decision to bench Earl Watson on Saturday, and indicated that it won't be the last time.
"Nothing against Earl’s play, I just wanted to give Chucky (Atkins) some minutes," said Brooks. "I’m going to stay with Chucky for a while. I don’t know how long. They’ve both earned minutes, but you can only play one backup point guard." In terms of fantasy impact, this means that one unreliable PG just got replaced by another -- avoid Watson and Atkins unless you're out of alternatives.
