 Brian Westbrook-RB- EaglesNov. 20 - 2:46 pm et
Coach Andy Reid said Friday that Brian Westbrook (concussions) will miss at least the Eagles' next three games.
And he's not even a safe bet to return after that. Three weeks is the timetable concussion specialists set for Westbrook's next checkup, which may or may not involve medical clearance. LeSean McCoy has better shot at starting for the rest of the season than Westbrook does of returning in Week 14.

According to two neurological specialists, Brian Westbrook should make a "full recovery" from his pair of concussions.
Doctors say his symptoms "improved significantly" in the last three days, and that Westbrook produced all favorable test results. "We are very encouraged by Brian's progress, we believe that he has an excellent prognosis," the docs added. Westbrook will get another checkup in 2-3 weeks after being put on a "comprehensive rehab plan," although the Eagles were advised to take a "conservative" approach with their 30-year-old tailback. It appears Westbrook's career isn't over, but he's still no sure bet to return in 2009.

Brian Westbrook (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bears, as expected.
Nothing new to report here. Westbrook is in Pittsburgh Thursday and meeting with two concussion specialists. After talking to them, he will have a better idea if he can play again this season. The Eagles are forced to use LeSean McCoy now despite their concerns about his pass protection.

Brian Westbrook is headed to Pittsburgh to be evaluated by a concussion specialist who will determine if and when he can continue to play football.
As ESPN's Adam Schefter points out, Steve Young, Troy Aikman, and Bill Romanowski all visited the concussion clinic and hospital in Pittsburgh prior to ending their careers. That's not to say that Westbrook's career is over, but it's clearly a possibility right now. Hopefully, he receives good news.

Eagles coach Andy Reid didn't shed much light on Brian Westbrook's status at his Monday press conference.
Reid confirmed that Westbrook's concussion was a result of another big hit, this time on a screen pass. The coach emphasized again that the team will be very careful and football is secondary for Westbrook at this point. We're still waiting for a timeline, but it would be a surpise if Westbrook makes it back anytime before the tail-end of the season.

Scout.com's Adam Caplan says he wouldn't expect to see Brian Westbrook (concussions) "for several weeks, if at all" this season.
Caplan covers all teams, but is probably the most clued in when it comes to the Eagles. While Westbrook shouldn't be dropped by fantasy owners until we get word from the team, a late-season return would be a best-case scenario.
