Michael Redd will have surgery sooner than he did the first time he tore the ACL and MCL in his left knee, giving him more time to rehabilitate.
He plans on having surgery in late January or February which would be about a month earlier than last time. "I came back this year when a lot of people thought I couldn’t and I’m going to try it again," said Redd. Godspeed.

 Michael Redd-G/F - Bucks Jan. 12 - 3:57 pm et

The Bucks confirmed that Michael Redd has torn both the ACL and MCL in his left knee.
Redd's career is in serious jeopardy. He says he fully expects to come back from this devastating injury, but we have to have our doubts. He'll be 31 next season and this is the same knee he tore up last season.

 Charlie Bell-G/F - Bucks Jan. 12 - 12:29 am et

Charlie Bell hit just 3-of-12 shots and was 3-of-10 from downtown to finish with nine points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in Monday's loss.
He'll be better than this on most nights as long as he continues to start, but Luke Ridnour had 17 points, seven assists and two 3-pointers in the loss. Ridnour might be a better pickup than Bell, as Michael Redd's season is over due to knee surgery. Carlos Delfino added nine points and five boards off the bench.

Michael Redd will likely exercise the $18.3 million player option on his contract for next season (although there's an excellent chance he won't play a single game), while his expiring contract is likely going to be a hot commodity a year from now.
The NBA's insurance contract picks up 80% of a player's salary once he has missed 41 straight games with the same injury, and if Redd is unable to return next season, his expiring deal will be in demand - especially since the insurance company will be picking up most of the tab.

 Michael Redd-G/F - Bucks Jan. 11 - 4:05 pm et

Michael Redd has reportedly suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee, ending his season.
He was injured on Sunday night in L.A. and suffered the same injury nearly one year ago to the day (Jan. 24), making us wonder if his career is over. Brandon Jennings, Charlie Bell, Luke Ridnour, Carlos Delfino and Jodie Meeks will all see an increase in minutes with this news, while it looks like Bell will move into the starting lineup. Go ahead and drop Redd if you own him.

 Michael Redd-G/F - Bucks Jan. 11 - 9:56 am et

Michael Redd's knee injury is being called "left knee soreness" until an MRI is performed on Monday.
Redd said he "felt a pop," but added that it didn't hurt as much as when he tore his ACL last season. It's tough to be optimistic about this injury, and we're assuming he'll be shelved for a while -- Charlie Bell will likely start and Carlos Delfino should pick up extra minutes in his absence.
